Reviews of being disorganized were unfounded. There was wall to wall stuff but a definite method to the madness and most were reasonably priced. A nice selection of all kinds of nerdom. Complaints of bad service... I'd have to agree. We were met with a gruff "lemmeknowifyouneedanything" as the man then shut himself in the back room quite literally until we left and then he emerged when we opened the door. It was fine for us bc we were perusing but it certainly did not amplify our experience. read more

Great selection but the most abysmal dogshit customer service of any store I've ever been in. Employees are openly hostile (if they're even in the front at all). They also charge for bag and board which is baffling every other place I've been to wont charge. They have some solid discounts every now and then but frankly I would rather drive an extra 10 miles and pay extra than come back. read more

I have to travel 2 hours and 11 minutes to get here. They have a very large supply of Indies and the trip is worth it every time.

Unfortunately the company sold me an expensive comic book which I graded and found that there were missing pages. Asked them to refund me half the value of the book as this damage was not disclosed. Was told I would be refunded after about 1 month of following up with them. I never received a refund. I could keep pushing for that refund but clearly this shop is dishonest. I needed to post a review because i've seen a bunch of old bad reviews that I wanted to clarify. This is a great comic shop. It is small but there never gonna be a hundred people in there to where it matters that much. The employees have always been great to me, i've been at uk and coming here for three years and every time i've needed help with something or looked confused they've always helped and i've always been greeted if they weren't busy in the back, sometimes even if they were. The claim about a limited selection in mostly false. Behind the register they have an awesome collection of cornerstone older comics in great condition and while they're back issue boxes are quite full it's honestly the best they can do with the space they have and it's organized pretty decently so as long as you know what your looking for there's no issue! Don't let any of these reviews fool you this is a great store for anybody looking to grab a couple good books to read. Only complaint is that it's not open on monday's or sundays. read more

I came from northeast Kentucky to fly home to Arizona. Looked on the internet for a comic shop that was open on Monday. The Facebook page for this shop said they were open on Monday. Drove two hours to the shop and the paper sign in the window said closed on Mondays. What a disappointment. read more

This place is a mecca of action figures. Floor to ceiling figures, statues, and other items. Was expecting high prices when seeing their vast inventory, but I got some INCREDIBLE deals on NECA figures. Other reviews say that the store is messy, but it's really not - it just has items EVERYWHERE. My girlfriend and I both agreed that it was our favorite collectible shop in all of Kentucky, simply based on the huge amount of inventory and decent pricing. Even if you don't buy anything, it's a great place to see some old stuff - like a toy museum. My neck hurts from looking at the ceiling for items every time I visit. Inventory was different from my first stop 6 months ago, too. The guy working was putting out new items the whole time we were there, but was kind and stopped to check pricing each time we inquired about items behind the counter. This review is not for the store per se as I have not set foot in it (Nor will I), but rather for its owner, Kevin, who sets up annually at the Motor City Comic Con here in Michigan. Still, it should serve as a cautionary tale... In May of 2016, I purchased a copy of Amazing Spider-man #9 at the Motor City Comic Con from The Comic Interlude. They were firm on the price at $450 and said it should grade out between a 5.0-6.0. I looked at the book and its front and back covers and flipped through a few pages and it seemed fine. I did not count the pages, NOR SHOULD I HAVE TO, as it is NOT up to the buyer to make sure the seller is telling the truth but, rather, on the SELLER to know what he or she is selling. Happy at the time with my purchase, I put it in my box when I got home and thought nothing of it. It wasn't going to be a reader at that price and I have an Essential Spider-man paperback that covers the first 25 issues for when I want to read Ditko-era books. Fast forward to this year's Motor City Comic Con. I always get a couple books graded and this year I decided to get my ASM #9 slabbed. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box from CGC and it came back a 0.5. At first I thought maybe I got the wrong book or it was mangled in the mail, but that was not the case. It was definitely the book I had submitted. The notes on the label said that page #12 was missing, doesn't effect story and that the book was incomplete. It also mentioned there was tape inside. I immediately fired off an e-mail to Kevin on Saturday, June 17, 2017, explaining what had happened and hoping he could somehow make it right. I received no answer. I called his store that following Monday, when he claimed he had been set up at a convention that weekend and hadn't read his e-mail. After a lengthy conversation, he concluded that there was "no chance in hell" that he could have missed all of that stuff being wrong in a book and that it must have been CGC's error. Mind you, he did allow for the fact that a page could have been xacto'd out and he also said he got them all from one collection of Silver Age books that were in roughly the same shape. He suggested I contact CGC as he was convinced that they either put the wrong label on the book or sent the wrong book. So I did. Upon calling CGC, their salesperson Bree suggested I send the book in for a grading review and that if they had to crack it open to verify (Which they obviously had to as the issues were inside) and it came back the same grade, I would be charged a reholder fee. She also strongly suggested that there was no way CGC could have made this mistake either. I kept Kevin abreast of the information as I got it via text message and he said it was all very strange. He also said that he had received back 3 books out of the last 100 he submitted with wrong labels, so in his mind it was definitely possible. This was on June 24. This was also the last time I have heard from him. I got the book back in early July and, sure enough, it WAS missing that page and it DID have tape in it and it WOULD come back a 0.5. Then I was charged a beholder fee of $33 by CGC, bringing the total I spent with them up to $96, after spending $450 on the book itself. I texted Kevin on three different occasions (7/7, 7/10, 7/18) to let him know I followed his advice and went back to CGC and they said that grade was accurate and what did he suggest we do now. I have not heard from him at all and it has been over a month. So I have Kevin from The Comic Interlude telling me this isn't his fault and I have Bree from CGC telling me it's not their fault either. It's certainly not MY fault. AT ALL. The Comic Interlude received their money and CGC received their money. I followed Kevin's advice and all that did was put ME out an additional $33 for a book that's not even worth $33. Someone needs to stand by their products and make this right. It should NEVER be on the customer to pay for someone else's mistake. read more

Worst comic store I have been to in more than 25 years collecting and probably a hundred stores visited. Poor organization, overcrowded yet lacking quality items and back issue boxes you cannot even look through because so much is jammed into them. But, by far, the biggest issue is the staff. Visited twice. Two different employees. Both times they made no effort to help and when asked basic questions the attitude and annoyance was palpable. People like this is what gives comic stores a bad rap. Will never go back. Lexington has four other shops that all offer GREAT service and actually act like they want to be there. read more

This happens to be my back up shop or the comic place I go to when I am killing time when going to the Chiropractor. It is in the shopping center on Waller right up from the Hospital. The staff is usually friendly and semi helpful. It is kind of hard to help someone when they are just really killing time and looking for something that strikes his fancy. That's on me. LOL. They sell comics, figures, toys and a few busts. Its a great place to go to entertain young family members while baby sitting as well. I am just like a big ol kid. read more

Just walked in to perhaps add a new piece to my ever growing collection of horror movie memorabilia. Unfortunately, despite the fact there were two employees neither one would acknowledge me or ask if I needed anything from behind the counter, which is coincidentally where I stood fro about four minutes. I walked the store twice, directly in front of an employee who was filing comics. He wouldn't even look at me. I even went so far as to say "hello" and was greeted with a muffled "hi" back. No assistance offered. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else fro books/toys. You'll actually be able to purchase something. To the business: good luck. I just moved here from Colorado and had spent thousands of dollars at Mile High Comics, you just lost a collector. I wonder how many others you've lost due to your disinterest in helping a potential buyer? Guys on the floor were a heavyset gentleman filing books and the other was a younger guy on glasses. read more

In the past few years, I've had to taper down my comic book purchases. Comic books can be a costly and time consuming habit. Not that I can say I don't miss them, it's just hard to find time and money for this hobby anymore. However, I will say that when I look for something, this place is very helpful and usually has what I need in stock (or are at least willing to order it for me). What they lack in appearance (which, I mean, it's a comic book shop, what did you expect?), they make up for in friendliness. I can say I've never entered here and not had their employee (usually just one) greet me with a smiling face. Their selection of toys is pretty ridiculous too. I would definitely check for something here before I bothered darkening the doors of Walmart or Target. read more

Great comic shop but they've far outgrown their space. The staff are friendly enough but the store is piled high. Store stock spills into the floors and the walking corridors are narrow. It might actually be a fire hazard! That being said it's not a bad shop. It's messy but not filthy or dirty and they have a great stock of toys, novels, back issues and more. The staff have always been great but getting around the store is just unpleasant. They desperately need a bigger shop! read more

There are multiple comic stores in Lexington that will value your business. This is not one of them. They store things poorly and have not been even remotely helpful in my experience. I had planned to spend quite a bit on my last visit and left with nothing. Not a customer friendly store and certainly not good for newcomers. read more

This shop has a great wall of key issues but all of their back issues are modern with a few random coppers tossed in. I barely noticed the staff during my time here. Check it out, but if you're not planning on dropping a few hundred bucks at least you'll probably leave empty handed. read more

Best place in Lexington for pure comic fans. Other stores in Lexington try to balance their comic selection with gaming stuff, with half their stores dedicated to gaming. Nothing wrong with that, if you're into it. But all I want is a wide selection of the funnybooks. Everybody has the Marvel and DC titles with a few of the better known Dark Horse series, but only Interlude as a wide array of IDW, Boom!, Moonstone, and will invest in other lesser known labels. My only criticism I have is one I have with every comic store in the *ahem* big city of Lexington - a severe lack of selection of graphic novels with aspirations beyond the superheroing. This store tried to market those, but, sadly, they just don't move off the shelves as fast as DC and Marvel. read more
