Pretty well organized for getting attendees through security and into the venue, we were already running behind because of delays at the border. It seems like we weren't the only ones as there was a crowd of people. There were ushers with flashlights who quietly brought us to our row and that was helpful. The venue itself was pretty good. Sound quality was good not great with some feedback and an echo at times. At least there were no squeals. It seemed clean and the seats were comfortable. Overall, it was good. Such a strange venue. It's a 5,000 person retractable seat venue. I'm pretty sure it was designed to double as a convention/expo center, but I don't think it's ever used for that. The traffic flow and bathroom situations are not great. I'd much, much rather see a show at one of the old theaters in Detroit that has a similar capacity. read more

My mom's birthday is soon and I wanted to do something nice for her. Her favorite comedian is Sebastian Maniscalco and he was doing a tour in Windsor at the Casino, so I took the chance and bought tickets. Getting across the border from Detroit has finally opened back up to those vaccinated and unvaccinated, so no covid tests or proof of vaccination's required! Yippie. I like that this place is right over the border, so you don't have to drive to much through Windsor-tucky to get here. LOL. There's self serve parking for free, and I think Valet's free for a small tip. To get here you have to completely cut through the casino. Fine. Please add an extra 15 minutes to your travel time when coming here since you can't really pull right up and just walk in. When we actually got into the Colosseum, it was somewhat easy to figure out. There's tons of walking, and lots of ushers to help out here. The venue itself is smaller in size but every seats a great view, so that helps. I will say, there's plenty of leg room (or, as one of the usher's told us, dancing room) so you can comfortably put your stuff down and it's NOT cramped like a movie theatre where everyone has to get up when someone enters or exits the row. The seats themselves are sort of comfy, but not really. Ok, not really. They were at first, but after about 15 minutes my back started to get sore. Seats felt kind of cheap and could have been better considering how much tickets cost to come here. So, I docked a star for that. Please, upgrade your most uncomfy seats! Also, the venue was remarkably cold. Like remarkably cold. After my back went numb from the uncomfortable seats, I started getting the shivers. I had left my coat in the car and I wasn't about to go back to get it either. Epic fail. Another thing. I kept seeing advertisements for Sebastian's merchandise for sale with a QR code on one of the monitors on the stage. I thought, well maybe they have a table out here some where. nope. I don't know if that's the star's choice or the Casino's, but there was nothing. They have a basic bar area here within the venue for wine, beer in cans, juice, water and I think maybe one or two mixed drinks. Very simple and basic, but good. Prices seemed on point. Juices were $2.50, $3.00 for water, and I forgot how much the booze was. You can use your card and pay cash. The stage itself was awesome. Cool blue lighting, great audio and visual effects, sound was a bit loud but clear, which was great. Place was clean and lots of people around to help and answer questions. Overall a fabulous location and not far from Metro Detroit. I plan on going back since it's a lot easier and sometimes cheaper to see concerts or shows here versus Little Ceaser's or Ford Field, especially with parking. read more

Hmm. Not my favorite? But not terrible. Despite having been to the casino several times I had never been to the Colosseum to see a show. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect as I'd never looked it up or seen photos. But based on the name and the decor of the casino itself I pictured it a bit....differently. My husband and I came here last week to see Eddie Izzard. Perhaps it's because it was a comedy show without a crazy lighting and a lively audience singing along but it did NOT feel like a proper venue. More like a high school gym filled with seats or a HS auditorium or something. We were closer to the stage (7th row left center) so perhaps that had something to do with it, since we didn't get to take in the size of the place but still, very off. In a way it almost felt like a black box. The entire theatre was painted solid black with nonexistent decor. Compare that to, say, the opulence of the Fox Theatre in Detroit, where I've seen other large scale comedy shows, and you could see why it would feel very weird. Also the seats were SO uncomfortable. I had to reposition myself every few minutes because my butt was falling asleep. I thought it might have just been my chair but a friend who was also at the show made mention of it, too. Good amount of legroom, though. The staff here was very nice and security in was relatively easy (shout out to the security guard who stopped me to ask if they had checked my ID because he didn't think I was old enough to be allowed in and was shocked when I told him I was 41. May the rest of your days be blessed and full of good fortune). I will also say that the staff, though nice, definitely did not have a handle on what rows where which which made seating latecomers a total ordeal. More than once I missed a bit because they were standing with their flashlight counting rows and moving up and down the aisle. All that said, my husband and I both agreed that due to the proximity to Detroit, the nice restaurant adjacent to the theatre (Spago, seperate review to come), and the price point, we'd definitely come back here for an act we were really interested in seeing. I'll just bring an extra seat cushion next time. read more

This place ended up surprising me. It was my first time here, and I was there to see Jim Gaffigan, this past Sunday night, with some friends ... Jim is one of my favorite comedians, and the Colosseum is a short 30-minute drive from the Detroit area. It reminded me of a high school auditorium, albeit HUGE. We had mezzanine seats, aka balcony seats, and they were pretty nice; there is ample room and leg room, even though myself and one friend are both larger ladies, and not a bad view in the house. I will say I was glad we were a few rows up from the front of the mezzanine, though, because there is a big glass partition that would have really annoyed me had I been sitting in the front. I think what knocks this down to a 3 vs. a 4 for me are a few things ... entering the auditorium was easy but exiting is a PITA, because there is literally ONE entrance. Then, to get back to self parking, you have to go back through the casino, and they usually check IDs for that (especially if you have a baby face, like I do ...). On the left was basically a herd of people streaming back through the casino, and on the right were the 19/20/21-year-olds waiting for IDs. Two different security people asked us to get in line but we said we are 32 (which we are, lol) ... so they let us pass. Not a good system. The other thing that annoyed me was that it was like a 5-6 minute walk to the bathroom (although, now that I know where they are, I'd book a seat on the opposite side of the auditorium - we were in the farthest section away). For normal people that's fine, but with someone with a chronic illness like myself, it could be a problem. There is an elevator down to the bathroom but there are also stairs. Unrelated to that, Jim's act was funny, and I'd come back here again if there was an act or a musical performance that I really wanted to see. read more

The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor is a great venue to see a live performance. There isn't a bad seat in the house and the ushers working here are helpful and friendly. The Colosseum is large enough to hold major acts but doesn't have that overwhelming huge and impersonal feeling. Nor do you feel like you're miles away from the stage either. The Colosseum is definitely worth crossing the border to see a show! read more

I've been here to the Colosseum a few times to see some amazing shows! I've seen The Goo Goo Dolls, Dr. Phil & recently Marianas Trench this past Wednesday on the 7th of March. The Colosseum gives Windsor access to all different kinds of concerts/entertainment shows that we never had access to before, which is amazing instead of having to travel to Detroit for all the shows. The show on Wednesday was amazing! The band put on such a great show and the seats I had were on the floor, in the 13th row, had a great view to the artist, and didn't feel crowded among the others seated in that area. This is a great venue, and any seat is not a bad view of the show. Getting into the Colosseum is a whole other ball game. It's a bit of a maze. I parked at in self parking parking garage that is attached to one of the entrances, at each entrance of course you have to have your ID ready so you can enter the Casino itself. If you have floor seats, you have to go downstairs, and afterwards, wait in a bottleneck to get back upstairs, or you can leave through the exit doors located to the right of the escalators. Definitely a great step forward for Caesars Windsor to add the Colosseum for shows and concerts here in Windsor. Although I loved going across to Detroit, it's so much easier just to come here to see a show. read more

Came here for the first time earlier this fall to attend a performance by Howie Mandel. This venue tends to attract top - tier talent to the Detroit/Windsor area, and experienced some notoriety earlier this year when George Lopez paid a dramatic visit to the casino earlier this year before his scheduled show here at the Colosseum. The Colosseum ls poorly integrated into the casino space, with attendees forced to enter and exit through the casino if they want to take advantage of the free parking or try their hands at some slots before or after the show. I get how that's the point of the experience, but there could be more signs directing customers to the Colosseum, or a designated area for people to wait before doors open for the show. The interior is a surprisingly bland space, feeling more like a very large auditorium than an actual performance space. Live video feeds on either side of the stage are a helpful alternative to squinting, but contribute to the corporate feel of the place. Concessions areas are also smaller than you'd expect, with small alcoves on the main floor on the way to the washrooms. Leaving the venue was an atrocious experience, with crowds funneled in to the escalators going back up into the casino and nearly an hour long wait to get out of the free parking garage. (At least the US Customs officer was breezy and asked if I was there for the show or gambling upon my re-entry into Detroit.) read more

I used to be a regular here until this weekend. New management is very young and doesn't know how to run this place! My drinks took forever, the dancer who was supposed to be dancing was kissing the young man who manages this place now. Last time i checked she was there to dance- not to entertain their boss. As a customer the amount of grime i see in the mens bathroom, along with ladies not cleaning the poles with covid. I asked the Dj for change and one of the dancers, Alexis, took $40 of my $100 bill and gave me $60 ones!!! she stole my money and when confronted, the Dj in the booth told me i was crazy and needed to leave. I've been visiting this place since 2017. went downhill, save your money and go to players or legends for quality dancers and where they are professional. very upsetting experience. read more

This is a great venue to see a show!! The seats are nice, the views are nice, and it's not a confusing set up! Upon going in, which is a process of about ten ushers willing to point you on your way, the venue is very open. There will usually be be screens on either side if the stage so everyone can get a close up of the action! The sound is good... I think though you might consider ear plugs as a precaution depending on what show you're seeing... went a little deaf there... but it was part of the experience!! I am so pissed off about the service that I will be getting for my wedding reception which is none. Why in the hell do they need to go on strike for so long. This type of service is horrible and I hope that they remove the unions. They just make businesses struggle instead stead of running their business. read more

The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor is a great place to see a show. The sound system they have is the best, being crystal clear with no distortion. Also there are two huge screens to see the performers up close. The capacity is 5,000 seats with almost 40,000 square feet of convention or trade show space. The venue has two sections of seating, main floor which is the closest but is totally flat. If you are short this may not be the best place for you. The stadium seating might be the better choice for viewing the stage even over the tallest person who may be sitting in front of you. The ushers are very personable and helpful as are all of Caesars Windsor employees. My wife and I have been here for numerous concerts and are always amazed at the professional quality of their shows, the excellent crowd management and the high enjoyability factor. There is free parking in the casino parking garage. The only thing you need is an enhanced driver's license or passport to get over to Canada. The Colosseum is GREAT, but the last few times I've been there for a show the VALET PARKING was a huge disappointment. Took 45 minutes to move through the line and finally get in the Colosseum, and almost missed the start of the show due to the wait. People from Casino were walking down the line apologizing, but more staff need to be hired. Inside the Colosseum everything runs like a well-oiled machine with ushers at every corner ready and willing to help you along to your seats, and with huge welcoming smile on their faces. read more

Jim Gaffigan (and his warm up guy) were great, but the venue left a lot to be desired. The Colosseum entrance is not well laid out, and the signage indicating which queue you were supposed to be in (according to your seat location) was confusing and the event ushers were - for the most part - not helpful and borderline rude. The Colosseum is enormous and the air quality was poor - it was so dry that by the end of the show (about 2 hours) I could hardly swallow. The seats are uncomfortable (no leg room). It took over 20 minutes just to exit the Colosseum and work our way back to the casino exit. In addition, there are clearly not enough dining/drinking places in Caesar's to handle a large pre-show crowd (this show was sold out). It took forever to get a table in the Artist Cafe and then service was painfully slow (our waitress was great, but it was evident that there were not enough servers and the kitchen was backed up). VERY glad that we opted not to drop over $200 to stay overnight in one of Caesar's hotel rooms. We would return for a show, but only for a show that we really, really, really wanted to see. (And I cannot imagine ever deciding to spend the night in the hotel). read more
