I panicked and ordered some funky bagel concoction I put together which was my fault not theirs. Mine had pastrami, his had roast beef. We both ended up getting sick shortly after unfortunately but again our own fault. Inside was clean and the service friendly. The busser gal did a great job keeping the tables in tip top shape! The husband and wife team showed up several months ago and they are a welcome addition to the diversity of offerings available right here in the Willamette Valley. We sampled the bagels for the first time today and they could not be more perfect. Bagels are meant to be chewy and Cat and the Fiddle describes their bagels as "unapologetically chewy" and we applaud their honoring that time worn texture! Last week we sliced the Brie stuffed challah, which is round, toasted it in the pan and served a poached farm fresh egg on top - magnificent taste and texture. Finally for dessert the chocolate rugelach is a rare find anywhere, because it is labor intensive and the goodness lies in the quality ingredients and the skill of the roller. The Cat and the Fiddle serve to elevate these Jewish baking traditions. A worthy Saturday taste adventure!
