Well, I knew it was meant to be, and I headed there during my next trip. I couldn't wait since I'm a fan. Zero issues with parking, you walk in a ground level, take the steps or elevator to the second floor, there you can observe the workers packing the different flavors behind glass, they have a shop with plenty of merchandise and an area where you can purchase two scoops of ice cream for $1.00. Service was top notch with smiles and side conversation. Plenty of locals knew where to go for some ice cream, too. We saw the Coca-Cola deliveryman, several off duty workers, and I believe the mayor.

When we arrived they had the place decked out in elegant Valentine's Day decor. No photos or videos of the production is allowed sadly. But I could tell the workers were hard at work sanitizing the area at the end of the shift. The ice cream parlor is a dream. The selection of ice cream rotates, some featured today included OOEY GOOEY BUTTER CAKE, STRAWBERRY, and ORANGE SHERBERT. All so good! You can opt for one scoop or two scoops but at the same price of $1 a dish, GET THE TWO SCOOPS. You can only opt for one flavor though. I love that instead of the traditional plastic spoon you can grab one of the wooden spoons that traditionally come with the single serve ice cream cups you can buy from the freezer section of the grocery store.

This is a quaint restaurant with a great vibe. Mia came up to greet us and introduced Taylor as our server. I ordered a drink, and Mia made me her Salty Dog. It was a rough week and really hit the spot!! Fresh made bread came out with butter....YUMMY!! The special was crab stuffed mushrooms freshly made with homemade croutons. These were EXCEPTIONAL! My parents ordered a pizza which smelled and looked amazing. My husband had the garlic tortellini with blackened shrimp and I had the garlic tortellini with blackened chicken. Let me tell you the tortellini with blackened chicken was perfect. We have been to a lot of Italian restaurants and Dolce Italia held its own like Rocky in a boxing ring!! My husband was just as complimentary about the shrimp tortellini. Mia is opening a bakery (she needs to!!). Both my Dad and husband are self proclaimed chocolate cake connoisseurs, and the freshly made three layer chocolate cake NAILED it. The tiramisu was top notch!!! Again....Rocky in the ring KNOCK OUT!! They were even kind enough to find a candle and sing happy birthday to my dad. I left feeling like I found a new friend! Do yourself a favor and visit Mia's Dolce Italia.

We have never left hungry until tonight. I ordered the Brisket Plate which came out with about 8oz of Chipped Brisket. Exactly 8oz as if measuring with a small cup in the back. The BBQ Brisket Nachos were a small tray of tortilla chips within a larger empty tray that held a measured cup of salsa, but there not enough toppings to cover them, possibly a tablespoon or two of Brisket. When I asked if we could have more cheese for all the blank chips, they said it was 50c cents for each 2oz cup. The full rack of ribs was as it used to be. I guess it's hard to limit the number of ribs nature provides. The baked beans tasted as if they have switched to canned. Also, Do not look away, they will take your tray while you are still chewing your food. I am not sure if they have limited number in the back and need to wash them quickly, or if they are so used to seeing empty trays it seems normal. I really hope this is just a phase and that they will get back into the service previously provided. We usually also buy ice cream, which has always been great, but we were so surprised by the change, I was scared to go further. In summary, fantastic BBQ, but currently appetizer sized at an entree price.

Short review: this is a must stop if you drive by…read more Time: We went on a Saturday afternoon in October 25. Outsize: For the road it looks like a clean BBQ joint with plenty of parking, a patio and easy to get to. Inside: once we got in the first thing we noticed was the friendly staff, like chick fil a standards friendly. Anyways, the restaurant has plenty of seating with 4 person tables that can support large groups easily. Very family friendly and the patio has a dog water bowl! Paper menu with ice cream flavors on the window. Staff event opened an extra register to help with the crowd size. Food: this is where they shine even brighter. The staff answered questions, asked about food allergies, and where helpful. I got the sampler platers (best way to see what is good) and was I surprised! The smoked wings might be the best thing there. Really these are amazing and I don't really eat wings. The brisket was my favorite, so much smoke flavor, tender with a nice smoke ring and so flavorful. The ribs were perfect, competition style with great bark, and fantastic pull, with a sprinkle of brown sugar on top to serenade your taste buds. Finally the bbq pork was delicious, sadly outshined by the others but it was good enough you don't need sauce for it. Speaking of sauces, original sauce was tomato with a tiny bit of sweet, the spicy was same just a bit of heat added, and the Carolina was the big winner here, tangy and sweet, had to grab a bottle on the way out. I'll end by saying m THIS is what a restaurant was before 2020; a place you what to keep coming back to, clean with friendly staff (they refilled out glasses 5 times with a smile EVERY time), and food you can't easily make at home (It's like most restaurants just cook from cans and bags these days) or buy at Kroger. Do stop here if you're in the area, we will be returning here even though it's a 45 min drive one way.

So much so I didn't share with anyone else. The boyfriend got the blackened catfish, and said it was some of the best catfish he had ever had. The table got fried pickles to share...
