My husband and I stopped by The Cocoa Bean coffee shop several times over the weekend. They serve Starbucks and were conveniently located near the elevator to our room. They serve many of the Starbucks coffee drinks but I did not see any of the refreshers on the menu. They also seem to serve some of the Starbucks food items but the prepackaged food extended to salads, wraps, cheese and crackers and more. The bakery items were expanded on as well. The cooler section sold Green Leaf tea and several different sodas. The service was always excellent and the restaurant was very clean. They have a small seating area and closed at 11pm. read more

The Cocoa Bean is located in the Emerald Plaza section of the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center. They offer coffee, espresso drinks, bottled water, sodas, and juices, bakes breakfast goods, fruit, oatmeal, sandwiches, and other stuff. I stopped in a couple of times for a double shot iced latte with whole milk and a bottle of water. The lattes were strong and delicious. Of course being in a resort - the prices are steeper than coffee shops NOT in resorts! I paid $9.59 for the latte! The person that they have making the coffee can carry 6 gallons of milk at once and makes delicious hot chocolate and peppermint mochas. This is where you pick up your breakfast orders from the à la cart menu. You can also have it delivered to your room. The food was great and pretty affordable. Since the line was too long this morning, we had it delivered to the room and it was only a five dollar charge. Well worth it. read more

Good place to get a Coffee inside the Gaylord Palms This location is inside Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center, right off the main Atrium by one side of the Emerald elevators and on your way to the Convention center from the front desk. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is very tastefully decorated and clean. There are screens, masks and social distancing circles to ensure adherence to covid protocol. There was only one person working at the time so service may be slow. We ordered tea, coffee and snacks. If you want something to eat and drink while walking around the complex then this is a good place to go for it. read more

Not a fan of The Cocoa Bean in the Gaylord Palms. The thinking must be, "if we are so busy, why should we bother to be good?" Honestly, had there been coffee close by, even at a gas station, I would have chosen to venture out rather than avail myself of the coffee service here. The Gaylord Palms really needs to step up its game on coffee and breakfast items. As with Socio, the menu here is extremely limited, the service is nonexistent; nothing more than "next," "next," "next." Forget getting a macchiato, a custom drink, or anything you are familiar with, outside of drip coffee, a latte, or a caramel macchiato. I swear, they must use a programmed machine to do everything as none of the baristas seem prepared to deal with any request that is not on the menu. My wife, our daughter, and I stopped in once to get our daughter a latte that she didn't even finish. I know they claim to serve Starbucks; but, that's about it. Small, but quaint, "The Cocoa Bean" provided just the coffee fix required during a recent trip to Orlando, Florida, and the Gaylord Palms. A Venti latte for me, a Venti vanilla bean frappuccino for my daughter, along with a turkey and provolone sandwich for us to share. Total out the door, including tax was $22.79. Don't believe me? Very disappointing. I had much higher expectations at such a beautiful hotel. With 4 kids...coffee is imperative in the morning! We would have been better off going to a local gas station. The cafe advertises "Starbucks" coffee, but it is truly nothing more than glorified milk. We waited over 40 min in a line with 2 employees working. The employees were very rude and dishuffled. We ordered 3 drinks....all of which had coffee and /or espresso. They looked like tan milk, there was no evidence of coffee what so ever! The sizes are different than a normal Starbucks as well. What would usually be a "tall" at Starbucks is a "grande" here. Very upsetting and frustrating when your trying to get your day started!! read more

The Cocoa Bean might as well be called the Coffee Bean because this place is all about its coffee and breakfast. It brews Starbucks coffee and offers breakfast options like muffins, parfaits, bagels, egg sandwiches, etc. I don't know what the other reviewers were on when they wrote their reviews, but we got two coffees (grande and venti), bagel, brownie, and caramel chews for $18... I would say that is comparable to Starbucks prices. The cashier was very sweet and attentive. The only reason I gave it a four out of five stars is because my barista didn't fill up my latte to the top of my cup (she filled about 3/4s) and when I asked her to fill it to the top, she gave me a bit of an attitude. There aren't many tables outside of the Cocoa Bean (there are like 5) so if you see a table, snag it before it's taken. This is the best coffee and/or breakfast option at the Gaylord! read more

This convenient coffee shop INSIDE Gaylord Palms is immediately adjacent to the convention center as well as the main resort atrium. Selection seemed excellent, as I easily found a large bottle of cold Starbucks Frappuccino to mix with the tiny one I'd bought earlier from our own hotel. My colleague ordered a hot coffee, which seemed to be a Starbucks product also, however, I am not sure if this shop is actually a Starbucks storefront. As my colleague paid for both beverages, I am not sure if the Starbucks app is accepted here. Service was quick, and I spotted several condiment stations outside of the shop for perfecting the beverage. I also noticed A LOT of tables lining the walkways around The Cocoa Bean, so seating was plentiful at 9:30am, if we had the time to linger. read more

I have stayed at the Gaylord Palms several times and each time I'm surprised by the lack of supplies this coffee shop has. They should remove the Starbucks logo from this location because they don't have the supplies available to make the drinks. They also don't have the staff expertise to make the drinks. When I came for Christmas, they were out of all specialty milks and peppermint. Kind of a staple for a Christmas themed hotel. This trip they were out of almond milk, oat milk and all vanilla syrup. I understood due to shortages around the country and placed a different drink. It tasted nothing like the version I get at all Starbucks and I travel for a living so I try lots of different locations. A few days later, I tried again and they were still out of all the same items. Surrounding coffee shops and grocers are not out of these items so it does not seem to be a shortage issue. More a lack of concern for their guests. In a hotel, you have limited options so I guess the drive to provide your guests with a satisfactory experience went out the window. read more

This coffee shop inside Gaylord Palms is okay. It serves Starbucks coffee, however don't expect to get the same drinks you normally get at a real 'bucks location. About 2 years ago they changed the location of this place which was for the better. It used to share space with the market and there was chaos. Now, the lines are still extremely long during mornings when there is a big conference going on (which is usually when I'm here) but at least it's a line for coffee shop purchases only. The prices are about $3 more than a regular Starbucks. They also offer cereals, milk, Yogurt parfait and oatmeal at a price gauging premium. That's what you have to expect in a hotel. If you're like me, you'll pay the extra price for your coffee because you have to have it. read more

I ordered an egg sandwich that was still frozen and hard as a rock A little overpriced but that's to be expected from a high end hotel. Some of the workers here are nice but the other ones seem to be annoyed to hear the customers ask them to reheat their sandwiches. Horrible experience and would not recommend! First they ran out of bagels at 7am, then could not toast croissants. There were tons of soccer groups staying in the hotel and you would figure the place would be prepared, it is also right after Christmas so you have to expect more people. The staff was not accommodating and they were even out of some utensils, again at 7am in the morning. Definitely recommend driving 2 minutes to I-Drive and hitting one of the breakfast places there (cheaper too). read more

Just finished breakfast here. It's an attempt to be a Starbucks. They even serve Starbucks coffee. Overpriced would be an understatement. I had a cup of Tazo Tea and a fruit cup. Cost $12. Fruit not that good. The melons were not ripe. The tea is fine but $4 for a $0.50 tea bag and hot water is too much. Even for a hotel. I wanted a fruit parfait instead of the fruit cup. However, they only sell it with Greek yogurt. Yuk! Bottom line way too expensive and the slim options aren't that good. read more

The barista I had both mornings was great. She's about the only thing this place has going for it. The coffee was expensive, even by my standards, and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I bought a wrap for lunch and it was like $10 for almost nothing. The next day, I stopped off at publix (less than a mile away) and grabbed a much bigger and better wrap for much less price. While this location is SUPER convenient when staying at the Gaylord, that is the only redeeming quality. If you are in a rush or don't feel like venturing to far for coffee, this will do but maintain low expectations. The service was nothing like what you typically receive at a true Starbucks location. My friend and I were discussing if we wanted to order any actual food, the lady over heard what we said and just automatically rung it up and started to gather the items. The food was standard -- pre-made sandwiches re-heated for you, fruit cups, salads, and desserts. But, they serve STARBUCKS. We're in Orlando so i expect prices to be a bit higher than normal. Coffee shops are normally pricey; just visit any $tar8ucks. In a party of 9, service was fast, the food was hot and delicious. The cinnamon roll had an odd taste but the egg sandwich, egg croissant, egg English and quiche were perfect. In comparison to other on site breakfast joints, we saved 66%.
