Honestly, I didn't drink almost at all at our wedding, so I don't have a lot of firsthand experience, but I did hear that the bartenders were dismissive and a bit rude to some of our guests. It could have been rooted in poor coordination and some other bad vendors on site, but nonetheless I don't think that stress should spill over onto the guests. Apparently, they complained about having to clear some drinks during happy hour, didn't want to give a sober guest a full glass of club soda because they might run out, and they didn't know the names of the drinks they had been making all night. The service was totally fine and the drinks were tasty, but the experience did leave a sour taste in some guest's mouths. read more

For a business that boasts that they "strive for excellence" and their "customers always come first", I'm disappointed with the customer service provided throughout our booking process, the days leading up to our wedding, and the wedding day itself. For an owner who explained he has 15 years of wedding experience and 600+ weddings, I'm surprised at the quality of beverages served during our reception and the overall communication/service I experienced with Chad. Unfortunately, we had no option but to book The Cocktail Concierge (TCC) as it was the only preferred beverage vendor of our wedding venue. With our wedding in August 2018, I initially contacted Chad in October 2017 to get this checked off our to-do list. It typically took Chad a few days to week to respond to my emails. Overwhelmed with the passing of my grandma and other unfortunate family events put a hold on my wedding planning. I reconnected with Chad in January 2018 to secure our wedding date and pay our deposit. Luckily, I reviewed the invoice/contract before paying the deposit and noticed our quote was priced higher than their price book list. With the updated invoice, we finally secured TCC in late February 2018. Chad confirmed receipt of our deposit early March 2018 and stated he was our main point of contact throughout our wedding planning, which ended being to our dismay. Between October 2017 and June 2018, there was no communication of any requirements or special requests from TCC of logistical matters for our reception. I did reach out to Chad to update our contract in July 2018, and even then, no mention of any logistics required by this vendor. With my day-of coordinator sending timelines to all the vendors 2 weeks prior to our wedding on August 25th, it wasn't until the week of our wedding, which was THREE DAYS before the big day, that Chad realized he had an issue with our timeline. Smooth move, Chad. Pretty much, my husband and I wanted the open bar to be from 6-10pm. That's it. I am not sure if it was in the best interests of the venue or TCC that this disagreement arose. Either way, there was no consideration of what the bride and groom wanted for THEIR WEDDING. My wedding coordinator was helpful in considering alternatives for our timeline to accommodate both the bride/groom and the vendors. Unfortunately, there was no budging with TCC (and/or the venue) as Chad wasn't willing to agree with our planned bar time of 6-10pm. This took me by surprise because I had many months of communication with Chad and it was never expressed that the open bar hours were to be predetermined by the vendor though this was our wedding and we were paying for their services. Being a few days before the wedding, I asked our coordinator to work with the venue and TCC on the best option for the open bar. Ultimately, it came down to me making phone call with Chad the Thursday before our Saturday wedding. I expressed my reasons for having the open bar from 6-10pm. I listened to Chad's concerns and ensured him that our guests will not be disappointed with the open bar at 6-10pm as I personally communicated the timeline to most of our guests and made a sign displaying the time of the bar on our wedding day. Long story short, Chad hung up on our call. Our guests mentioned the beverages were mediocre. In comparison with our second wedding reception (yes, we had two weddings), TCC's service was by far the worst and their beverages lacked "TCC Difference", but it was definitely an unforgettable experience...and never ever again! It seems some vendors are more concerned with their own reputation over ensuring excellent service to their customers (update your website, Chad). For someone with 600+ weddings under his belt, he presented himself in the most unprofessional manner and I would NOT recommend this vendor to my engaged friends/family. read more

I hired TCC for my high school reunion, and they did not disappoint. What I liked most was that on their website they had clearly defined packages to choose from instead of having to go back and forth creating a quote. That made my planning very easy as the bar was the most important aspect of our event. We needed a company that would provide the alcohol for us and bring everything in so that we didn't have to think about anything, and they did just that. We contacted all the preferred vendors provided by our venue and ultimately felt that Cocktail Concierge was the best fit in terms of both experience and pricing. Nick was super easy to communicate with throughout the process and was very accommodating when it came to our last minute change requests. Two small but important encounters I personally had with the bartenders to share - (1) before our grand entrance, the bridal party needed some liquid courage, the bartenders put together something fun for us and even came by to collect the cups prior to our entrance which I thought was a very attentive gesture; and (2) another bartender witnessed my friends seated at a table in front of the bar drowning me in shots during a table toast, and without asking, he offered me a cup of pierre telling everyone it was "vodka soda" ha! The Cocktail Concierge saved the day! About two months prior to our wedding our bartending service fell through - talk about stress! Luckily, I was referred to TCC and immediately gave them a call. I spoke with Nick who was very calm, cool and collected amidst my anxiety. He sent me a quote earlier that day, which was far speedier than other services we contacted. Everything was transparent and easily broken down, so we booked TCC for the big day and didn't think twice about it. They showed up onsite, on time, began setting up, and were ready to go on schedule. The service was impeccable, which given a 300 person guest count is an accomplishment in and of itself. Our guests let us know the bartenders were not phased one bit and were on top of it all night. So they would've gotten 5 stars except for 2 things: 1) they were sometimes great at email replies, sometimes very slow. But more importantly 2)they cut off our bar a full 40 minutes early on our wedding night. When you are paying for 235 guests, a lost 40 minutes is a significant investment that you were expecting to receive and don't and a significant amount of disappointed guests (not to mention we were disappointed ourselves). We showed them the contract and they said they were allowed to stop the bar at their discretion, but while we had a lively group, we didn't know of any guest doing anything disrespectful, inappropriate, or being blatantly drunk or out of hand. They weren't willing to work or compromise with us to extend it or even give us, the bride and groom, another drink. We utilized Cocktail Concierge for our recent November wedding. As a preferred vendor of our venue, we had the choice between them and one other vendor. Price-wise, Cocktail Concierge was the more affordable of our two options for a simple beer, wine, and soda package. I originally reached out via email, but didn't hear after two attempts. I inquired with my coordinator at the venue and she was able to get in contact with Chad, who was very responsive after the initial emails. Overall, they did a great job, but there were a few issues. 1. There were two bars at our venue (one downstairs and one upstairs). The downstairs bar serviced the cocktail hour and the upstairs bar serviced the dinner portion. While cocktail hour was happening, two girls were standing at the upstairs bar chatting. My mom asked for a glass of water, but they refused to serve her because they were "closed." If they were closed, they should have not been there just chatting... Also, when the mother of the bride has a simple request, you should probably be customer service oriented and honor that request. 2. There was a miscommunication to who would provide water for our guests. Water was not provided on the tables, for our guests so many attendees asked for it at the bar. One of our guests was told that the bartenders were too busy to continue providing guests with water and it should have been provided by the caterer. 3. We were promised a champagne toast with our package, but never got it. Again, this may have been a miscommunication with the caterer. I would consider booking Cocktail Concierge again, but would make sure that the communication and expectations of both the bartending staff and catering staff were better. read more

We used Cocktail Concierge for an "open bar" for our wedding, both during cocktail hour and throughout reception. The actual bartenders were fabulous and our guests said that they were great, friendly, and very professional. The bartenders were great. I will also say Cocktail Concierge properly obtained a liquor license for our extremely finicky wedding venue, so, well done there. The bartenders looked professional and their set-up was nice. If I could rate the bartenders separately from their employer, I would give them five stars. Management is a different story. Bottom line, we signed a contract for unlimited alcohol for X number of hours, pricing based on the quality of the alcohol and time. Let me be clear: that was unlimited red and white wine, and unlimited mixed drinks with a certain quality level of hard alcohol. That was fine. What was not fine was finding out a week before our wedding that if we wanted the completely separate catering company to serve wine at the tables during dinner ("table service"), Cocktail Concierge would charge us an additional amount per adult, even though they were not providing the labor for serving the wine at all. They literally charged us extra to move wine bottles over from the bar to the catering staff. We were infuriated and received no explanation through our planner other than that table service would cut into their profit margin since more guests would obviously partake in wine if they were served at table side than if they had to go up and get a glass at dinner. That's not an excuse that flies after we paid $1900+ for 150 adults to have "unlimited" alcohol and an open bar for 5.5 hours - frankly, we felt nickle-and-dimed. I cannot recommend them because of that. read more

Chad and his team bar tended our June wedding at Giracci Vineyards wedding. They did our customized drinks and even brought handwritten chalkboard signs to make it that much more intimate. I think we went back and forth several different times deciding what we wanted to include for guests but Chad was always accommodating. Great service and great booze! If I could give this company negative stars... They provided the bar service for a wedding in which I was the coordinator at Serra Plaza on 5/24/14. Being that I was included in all the email correspondence, I witnessed the unprofessionalism of the representatives. The first quote was given for a certain price per person for which the bride and groom agreed upon. The sales person came back only to let them know that their manager said that they could not give them that pricing and it would be more than their original proposal. After discussion, they agreed upon a cost for 1 bar and 2 bartenders. Two weeks before the wedding, they emailed to let the couple know that with their guest count (originally 250, increased to 280) would require 2 bars and 4 bartenders and that it would be an additional cost. After MORE discussion, they agreed on a bar tab. Naturally, they were disappointed because they were not making the amount of money they had hoped - it showed the day of the wedding. The day of the wedding, the owner of the company, Chad, came after his bartenders finished setting up... and decided to cause a large fuss (over nothing): His bartender, Mike, approached Ann (caterer from Seafood World Restaurant - who was incredible from start to finish!) and said that they (cocktail concierge) are the ones who had to serve the champagne because all liquors must be provided by them. Both companies have worked together at Serra Plaza previously on numerous occasions and the champagne pour has never been a problem until now because, in Mike's words "the bar is usually hosted and the bride and groom are trying to cut corners by having a bar tab". He then called upon Chad who came to me 30 minutes before the reception to say "I hope you understand that we have to charge $100 for the 280 champagne glasses my bartender will pour (with the champagne provided by Seafood World)" OK, we will agree to that because we don't want any further problems and if money solves the problem, so be it. It was decided: 1 of the 2 bartenders will pour 280 glasses. When the time came, the bartender asked Ann for her serve staff's assistance in pouring... He did not pour one single glass of champagne, Seafood World Restaurant took care of all 280 (as it was originally planned!) Chad also huff and puffed about the fact that he didn't believe we would be satisfied with the bar service because of the large amount of guests we would have. I ensured him that the guests were not heavy drinkers so there would not be heavy bar activity. He did not instill faith in his bartenders. There was never more than 4 people in line for the bar the entire night. The clients previously discussed with me that that they were willing to increase the bar tab doubly if guests we're still drinking. Checked in with Mike 2 hours in and increased the amount. He checked in with me an hour later, we increased it again. At 9:50, he said the were closing the bar and the tab was at $2470. He ran the card on file for $2000. He came to ask me how we'd like to take care of remaining $500? Wait, you just told me it was $2470, so the balance is $470? Or $500? He stumbled for a reply. I asked him to give me a clear answer because rounding up seems dishonest, considering the less than perfect experience we've had up until this point. He said "you can pay $470 of that makes you feel more comfortable". Mike was missing the entire point here. When I returned with his money, he said "you know, we bent over backwards to accommodate you guys, I didn't even charge you the $100 to pour champagne, so I take offense to your dishonesty comment" OH, you're bending over backwards for me by NOT charging the $100 to pour the champagne that you DID NOT pour?! And gave me grief about?! They are NICKEL AND DIMERS. Is $30 or $100 worth it to give your small growing business a bad name? To the bride and groom, $130 is nothing compared to the $50k+ wedding. They must underestimate word of mouth referrals. I will never recommend this company. They are unpleasant, unprofessional and most importantly, untrustworthy. read more

I'm currently working with Mike to cater my alcohol needs for my wedding that's a few months away. We initiated planning about a year ago. At the time, we had a more extravagant celebration in mind, and requested a quote from Mike accordingly. I admit, the plan we set out for Mike was complicated: open bar from so and so hours set up at a particular location of the venue, reopen the bar at a different time, table wine service from so and so hours, creation of signature cocktails, etc. He accommodated all of our craziness AND gave us a VERY reasonable price. As my fiance and I begin to hemorrhage money with this whole wedding, we came to realize we needed to start prioritizing if we have any desire to send our future children to college. We called Mike and he happily sent us a few quotes of different permutations of what we can do. He even suggested how we could cut down on a few items to save money, yet still have an elegant set up. How wonderful! I'm writing this review early partly because I feel guilty for being so crazy initially, only to have Mike redirect us... HAPPILY redirect us I might add. We were in a bind and needed to hire a full service company to handle staff and bartending services last week with just days' notice. Chad was recommended to us and not only sent over an immediate quote but he was friendly, helpful and his rates were incredible. Staff showed up early, they were prepared and ready to go before the expected time and later in the night when we had a couple unexpected guests they even made a late night trip to the store to accommodate them. My husband and I got married on January 6 and we were holding a Welcome Cocktail Party the night before. I don't know how to tell you how hard it is to find a bartender that will also provide the liquor. We thought about just hiring a bartender and then providing our own liquor from Costco, but it's not just the liquor -- it's all the ancillary items needed (like the mixers, lemons, ice, salt, etc.). We first were considering going with our caterer, but their premium package was in the low to mid 20s per person and the alcohol was what we would consider well (we considered their well liquor pretty much undrinkable and we're definitely not alcohol snobs). Fast forward and we find Mike Sheehan (he was originally at Pacific Coast Bar, but the company split as half wanted to run a restaurant and the other half spun into Cocktail Concierge which was pretty much what Pacific Coast Bar was as I understand it). His pricing was practically too good to be true to the point where I was really suspicious. I knew they were relatively new, but we basically had their Diamond package which is premium alcohol (Grey Goose, Johnnie Walker Black, Crown Royal, Tanqueray, Patron, etc) for $15.95 per person for four hours. That's ridiculous. If you go drinking ANYWHERE, drinks with that kind of alcohol are $8 to $10 a pop. They even kindly gave us kid pricing at freaking $3.95. I go to restaurants where one soda could be more than that. Although I would probably say that I was at the low end given the timing of the event (early January) and I got them just as they were ramping up their business. We met up to kinda do a tasting of the wines they offered (which I really appreciated because the pricing made me uber suspicious that this was a scam). Mike was awesome -- he's really down to earth with a great sense of humor and he really just wants people to have a good time. Honestly, I was still suspicious as I left because it still felt too good to be true. However, it wasn't! Mike showed up at our event an hour early to set up ready to rock and roll and even helped us figure out how to best utilize our space. He was really friendly, personable, and professional. I'm just afraid that our crowd wasn't really comprised of heavy drinkers so he may have been bored, but he definitely didn't show it and was very generous with the pour. At the end of the night, my fiance was planning on winding down with a few buddies and asked Mike if he could perhaps grab any bottle that was particularly low that they could drink with. Mike said no problem and not to worry -- he'd make sure my fiance was taken care of. Next thing we know, there's this really generous care package. If anyone is looking for a full-service bartender package, I would definitely recommend these guys and ask for Mike! I'm sure their other bartenders are awesome, but Mike was phenomenal. If I ever host another party, we are definitely using Cocktail Concierge! read more

My husband and I recently got married in August and every vendor we used for our wedding was found from Yelp. I'm so glad we did! We used this service for our wedding in our backyard. We had 100 guests including children and an open bar. Nick was very attentive and responsive when I emailed him with follow-up questions before the wedding, even after we retained him. Unfortunately, we had a couple of incidents happen with our guests and the bartender Nick sent. 1) Guests told me the bartender seemed overwhelmed working by himself. 2) We had about 10-12 guests the last hour of the bartender's service. A few people had too much to drink and the bartender decided to shut down the entire bar 45 minutes early. He told my husband and me that he didn't feel comfortable still serving certain guests. When he cut them off, they became belligerent. We of course were completely humiliated and let him go. I didn't like the way the whole thing went down, but I also thought a few of our guests were completely out of line. When I talked to Nick about the 2 incidents, he explained the bartender's report from the event and told us that it was due to safety worries. He remedied the situation by crediting us back the last 1/2 hour of his service. If I had to do the whole thing over, I would 1) definitely have 2 bartenders working, and 2) not have the open bar available for so many hours. We had it scheduled from 6:30-1:00. Grown adults = responsible drinking? No way. I would use Nick again with the knowledge now how to avoid messes like the one at the end of my wedding.
