I live in a co-op house and we have to get insurance for our units. We use these guys 'cause we did some price comparisons and it just comes about 5 - 10% difference give or take our plan, therefore, we just stick with these guys. My major concern is that I was doing a financial projection of operating costs for what we are paying now and what is expected in 2015 and was shocked by the 20% insurance increase. The only reason that they gave me when I called was: That they need to offset the costs from all the claims that were given from the flood that happened in Ontario last year. Okay that is understandable. The rule of insurance is that your cost goes up when you make a claim, however, I find it hard to believe that everyone country wise gets hit up 20% increase from 1 province's claims. For what they charge for insurance you would think that there would be some offset costs? For some people who already live on a low to mid income status, 20% is a huge yearly increase. read more
