The staff throughout the center were attentive and very helpful. The cafe offered a good selection of coffee/cappuccino, soups and sandwiches, and dessert/snacks. Specials and other lunch fare was available. Seating was bright and airy, with great views out the large picture windows. The general store has staples, fresh breads, fruits, vegetables, and local specialty products. The Post Office was a surprising plus- a great help for travelers. The meeting space is open and inviting- a great addition to the local community.

Locals and tourists alike can buy daily and weekly newspapers and magazines (a really good selection for such a small shop), wine, beer & spirits, cigarettes/cigars, soft drinks, fresh and frozen veg, frozen meats plus packed meats such as ham and bacon. Pies, tinned foods of all descriptions, household goods such as washing detergents & liquids, candles, matches, soap, firelighters, dusters - you name it, you'll probably find it here. Service is fast, efficient and friendly and the owner, Mr Finlay is what one would call 'a bit of a character- - great fun on a good day! Almost couldn't get in and out and did hold everybody up - so I wouldn't recommend bringing your RV up here. Inside you order by tablet. It's quite a big space inside the shop. Once you got your food (outside) you can sit down right in front or head around the corner to the big table with some views. We were happy to sit out front though. Ordered two kinds of cooked topped oysters (salmon/seaweed and spicy seaweed chutney), crab legs, a softshell crab and half-a-dozen of regular oysters. The fresh raw oysters were nice and of good quality. The cooked oysters were decent, maybe easier for oyster-beginners since the toppings cover the sea/oyster flavour. The softshell crab was really tasty - but also a bit pricey for our served size. The best item were the crab legs cluster. A good load of legs for little money. Very tasty! All in all a good place to enjoy some seafood. Some items were great, others also very good - but not great. If we come back it would be for the Crab legs...

The Co-op was easy to spot and the parking lot easy to maneuver in and out of. The store was well stocked and had an abundance of snack items. I went with two flavours/preparations of Kings 100% British & Irish Beef (British BBQ jerky and Rib Eye Flavour Biltong) as well as Scottish butter toffee (Buchanan's). All three items were delicious and well packaged for the road. Prices were fair and workers kind.

This is a good rural petrol station, located on the main road into Portree. It has a small shop…read moreattached which stocks a extremely good range of foodstuffs for the size of the shop. It has sweets and crisps (seems to stock every falvour imaginable), tinned goods, fresh sandwiches, newspapers and magazines Although it's primarily just a filling station (no garage attached) a lot of people go there for their daily papers too. And the schoolkids go there for lunch! It's very handy for tourists and people living at that side of Portree, as it saves a walk into the village to get the papers. And it's even open on a Sunday - which not everything in this area is.
