An absolute must-visit on Washington Street in Sonora!…read more The Local Collective is exactly what its name represents: a place rooted in genuine care for people, families, and the local community. What stands out immediately is how kind and welcoming the owners are. This is truly a family-run shop, and you can feel the intention behind everything they do. They aren't just stocking shelves, they are thoughtfully sourcing items they would confidently choose for their own family and children. That level of care is rare. We bought a hoodie, hat, and t-shirt for my daughter's birthday, and she has been wearing them every single day since. The quality is incredible! I mean really. These are not cheaply made pieces. You can feel the difference right away in the fabric, the fit, and the durability. What makes this place even more special is the heart behind it. It's not just about business. It is about people. They genuinely care about the families who walk through their doors and he went out of his way to offer products that reflect that. They do not jack up the prices but the quality is better than an REI or Sax 5th Avenue. I know good quality and these items are made very well. We also purchased a tumbler for my children, bird house, two stuffed animals, and a few other little things and the quality and make are consistent throughout the store no matter what it is. Having seven children we know good quality items. Unfortunately, it is not an unfamiliar experience to see things break after purchasing. Not here! If you're looking for meaningful, high-quality items and want to support a family that truly puts other families first, this is a place you'll want to keep coming back to and buying from again and again.

This is probably my favorite local shop to get coffee. It tastes the same every time (yummy &…read moreconsistent) and I trust that I'm getting the decaf espresso that I ask for. I've also purchased many items from here like mugs, candles, t shirts, children's sensory toys, stickers, jewelry, sauces, and a Christmas advent calendar. I never really know what I'm going to find in Local Collective, but there's always something I want. I also love love loveee the atmosphere. It's so welcoming, the music's always on point, and the staff is very friendly. 10/10 my favorite shop in downtown Sonora.

This place is a quaint little shop in quaint little Twain Harte. Sure, it's filled with a lot of…read moretouristy trashy items I'd never want to receive as a gift, but that's to be expected in a gift shop like this place. I wanted to give this place three stars, but it's lucky I can't go below one star. Here's why: 1. In spite of this place being filled with a lot of crappy items, it had some nice, soft fuzzy socks that my wife instantly fell in love with. For only $10, it's a reasonable price. Three stars so far. 2. Some women with a little girl came in, and the little girl accidentally broke a leg off of a crappy miniature house. I don't know if it was broken in the first place, but let's assume it wasn't. They owner/register guy decided to make the mom & her little daughter feel really bad about it, so they left. He wanted to make them pay for the item, but they had left too quickly. When my wife & I came up to buy the socks she wanted, he started to whine about his experience. It's not professional to complain about tourists/customers to other tourists/customers. I honestly don't care about all that drama. Minus one star. 3. He did't carry what we came in for: a bath towel, since we forgot to pack one, and the place where we were staying didn't have an extra one. No big deal. I asked him if he knew anywhere else in town that would sell a bath towel. He thought for a bit, confirmed what I was looking for, and said the only place nearby was WalMart over 15 minutes away down the valley via highway. "Nothing around town," he said. What a liar. I followed a hunch, and one of the only other stores in this midget town (Twain Harte Market, or whatever it's called) sells ALL KINDS of stuff, including full towel sets, bed linens, clothing, etc. To add insult to injury, this place is no more than a couple minutes away, and easily within walking distance. Minus all kinds of stars for that. So, like I said, this place has a few nice items, but from the lame and downright BAD service I received, it should be grateful I can't rate it less than one star. I'm not spending another dime in this store. And if you decide to go inside, you'll probably wonder, as I did, how the heck it can afford to stay in business with all the worthless crap it carries in inventory.
