Great hotel for drinks to watch the footy. It's always packed, no matter what time of the day, but even more so on Friday and Sat evenings. A big screen, wide selection of beers and some pokies if your heart desires. There are a few areas to hang out in upstairs too. We got a tomato and mozzarella pizza which had six slices of pizza, wasn't the best but with beers, so ok I guess. Second dish was calamari but just the frozen type type, that are deep fried. I've eaten upstairs before and the Jamon Croquettes are amazing. Clears out pretty quickly after the footy. Tip - they do a pretty good cocktail

Surry Hills seems to be a very cool place to hang out in Sydney. Sydney Siders really talk it up when the subject of cool bars, cafes and restaurants comes up. The Clock Bar is definitely one of the Surry Hills centre pieces. It is iconic by sheer virtue of its distinguishing name and feature. Its position is also smack bang in the middle of everything on Crown Street. The big question is... does it live up to its high profile billing? The answer is a resounding YES. Its a lovely place for drinks, a bite or just to meet and hang out. its big too. Downstairs is a typical pub feel with sports screens and big bar. Its upstairs though, where the true soul of this place comes out. A wrap around balcony overlooking crown Street makes Clock Bar special. Nothing better than sinking a few with your mates, watching the world go by. It also encourages interaction with others as the balcony is fairly narrow so your constantly rubbing shoulders with all and sundry. Not sure if its still on the go, but they had an innovative alternative to Happy Hour. You get one roll of 2 dice and if you get a double - hey presto, whatever you've just ordered is free! not bad if its your shout and you've just ordered 4 or 5 drinks.... If you haven't been here yet, I suggest you clock in ;)

Great spot for people watching and afternoon drinks up on the balcony. Nice vibe early but can get pretty noisy and loud later on in the evening. Huge kudos to staff at the bar- I am 37 weeks pregnant and they went to so much effort to make me a fun mocktail! It was very good too :) Space is well thought out to handle noise and different groups of patrons. Staff were attentive though in terms of clearing etc. Well located for a Surry Hills pre- dinner drink. We wandered down to Nour afterwards for a meal.

Ah the Clock. The very first time I set foot in this establishment was on New Years Day. The clientele was well dressed and I instantly noticed the age separation from downstairs to upstairs. If I were to make a guess based purely on observation, I would say the downstairs hosts those aged between 30-40, while the upstairs crowd are the suit and tie clad 20-somethings. The huge wrap around balcony is perfect for watching the people of colorful Surry Hills as the sun sets. In more recent times, I tend to frequent the upstairs on a Friday night where the Clock offers a $10 cocktail happy hour between 5 and 6 (but don't try and get creative, they will make only what's on their tailored list). The thin crust pizzas are also delicious and reasonably priced when compared to its fancy Crown Street competitors. In all, the Clock is a solid place with an enticing crowd. If nothing else, come in your finest duds and be prepared to droll over the attractive patrons. Hey, might even find someone with something interesting to say?

The Clock is one of those great big pubs that offers all things to all people. And spilt across four levels there's plenty on offer. From the function rooms downstairs to the huge main bar, the sports bar and then the cocktail lounge and balcony bar upstairs, you'd be hard pressed not to find something you like. Although surprisingly given the amount of space you will find it tough to get a table or a seat on a Friday or Saturday night. For me it has to be a seat on the balcony for a Cocktail or two on a balmy summer's evening. Get there for Happy Hour at 5pm and it's even better. You'll love the fresh air but it's worth remembering that smokers love The Clock and it's balcony too.

Love this bar and proud to call it my local. Been coming here for over 6 years and its still one of my favourite watering holes. Nothing beats sitting on the wrap around balcony with a beer on a lazy sunday afternoon. If you're feeling peckish, order food from the bistro and have it on the balcony too. It may not have the atmosphere of a Lord Dudley, but it fits in well with the location and the type of crowd that usually hangs around Crown St.

Great ambience for drinks. The beer was great. The food was mediocre though. The steak had an excellent char and grilled flavor but the meat quality was very average. I probably should have tried the fish n chips instead.

Ok chill place for meeting. Very social place, loud and noisy. Could be fun with a company of friends or birthday party.

We did not have a reservation, but they fit us in as a walk-in at a small coffee table with 2 ottoman seats. Not the most comfortable set up, but I appreciate the cozy atmosphere, almost like you are sitting in someone's very posh and dimly lit den. All the NOLA classics were featured, like Vieux Carre (no likey), old fashioned (likey), and hurricane. There were some twists on the classics as well. I liked the newer house specialties, and ended up having 3 drinks, more than I intended. We snacked on some popcorn chicken, which was nothing special, but very satisfying when hungry. We were also lucky enough to be there when the live jazz band played a brief set, which really set the mood. I took off a star because not every drink was a homerun, and the service was a bit too impersonal for a speakeasy. We had a different server each time. One of my favorite parts of going to a speakeasy is to watch the bartenders work their magic and ask them for recommendations, and if I'm lucky, maybe get an off menu drink. Not quite set up that way here.
