We started with the mussels, served in a light garlic broth with a thick slice of charred, garlic-rubbed bread perched on top and finished with fresh microgreens. The bread alone was worth it, crispy and blistered on the outside, soft in the middle, perfect for soaking up the broth. The French onion soup was rich and deeply savory, with a broiled cheese cap that held together beautifully when you broke through it with your spoon, finished with fresh herbs for a little brightness. For the main, the grilled lamb chop was cooked exactly to temperature, great char on the outside, tender and juicy in the center. It came with a hearty herbed grain salad and a vibrant chimichurri that cut through the richness perfectly. We also had a couple of their cocktails, one with a sugared rim and both really well balanced, not overly sweet like a lot of happy hour drinks tend to be. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, wood tones throughout, low lighting, lively but not overwhelming. For a first visit, this blew my expectations out of the water, and I'm already planning my next trip back for happy hour. Highly recommend.

Not only did we eat, we also took items to go because the desserts were fabulous. The location is easy to find in the shopping center across the street from Huntington Beach High school. We did not have a reservation, but they were able to see this immediately. The service time was reasonable and the food arrived properly prepared. We had the seafood paella, in Manhattan and a the signature cocktail. For dessert we had the most amazing butter cake and we took home a carrot cake. Overall the experience was wonderful. We will gladly return. A dinner for two with tip was approximately $160, so if you're looking for a low price location then this isn't for you.

The chef uses his free range of creativity and offers such unique and amazing ingredients in all of his dishes. He truly cares and has a passion for beautiful food. My wife and I know alot of chefs and restaurants in SoCal and this is some of the best food we can find. Chef Jonathan and his kitchen staff are all one of a kind. They shop for only the freshest ingredients and offer a variety of seasonal dishes throughout the year. The Pork Belly Taco has been a long standing menu item that literally NEVER disappoints. It is incredible. Every tostada the chef creates is amazing. And the Green Goddess dressing on their salad is worthy of bottling and drinking straight. The wine program is also incredible. The range of wine is amazing and everyone on staff is SO knowledgeable about every wine they offer. If you aren't sure about wine or how to pick out you can give them the simplest explanation of what wine you want and they will bring over several bottles to chose from and will give you an in depth and beautiful description of all of them before you decide what you want. Amazing food, wine, music and vibes are all huge perks but what really sets Bar Tinto over the edge is the hospitality and kindness of all the staff. Great for date night, for a night out with friends, a spot to bring the parents too, literally any occasion. We look forward to sitting in tinto and enjoying the food and wine at least twice a week!! They always do a great job with decorating when they have a new theme in effect, and the Great Gatsby décor is no exception. The room is filled with lots of gold streamers, hanging gold light fixtures, art deco artwork, Roman columns, etc. Reservations are highly recommended. We checked in at the host stand with Emma who was very friendly. She seated us immediately at the bar as requested. We enjoy talking with the bartenders and watching them make drinks. Ruben was our bartender and he was excellent in all aspects. I started out with Between the Sheets from the Gatsby menu (rum, cognac, orange, lemon, $18). Rum and cognac is a great combo. This cocktail is spirit forward and well balanced. She started out with a Bartender's Reserve (you call the spirit and flavor profile, and the bartender crafts something special for you, $20). She gave parameters of no hard liquors like whiskey or cognac, not sweet, and not refreshing (i.e. no cucumber). Ruben made the most amazing gin based cocktail. Some of the ingredients he mentioned were plum, passion fruit, pineapple, lime, and a bit of chartreuse and soda. It was complex and perfectly balanced, with great flavors. We have been here many times, and he even served it in a unique tiki mug that we've never seen here before. Now it was my turn to put Ruben to the test. I also wanted a Bartender's Reserve, and I told him to use any spirit as long as the drink focuses on banana or apricot flavor. He went to work, and after a short time a beautiful frosted glass was served to me. I forget all of the ingredients he mentioned, but it was rye based with banana liqueur, a small foam top, and fresh shaved cinnamon on top. The banana was perfectly present with the rye at a nice level. This was a home run all the way. Of course, she wanted another magical creation, and Ruben went to work yet once again. She was served a beautiful yellow cocktail, and he even hand cut a little lemon fish garnish. It was mezcal based with yuzu, elderflower, mango, and lime. It was perfectly balanced, the smoke was at the perfect level, and again it had a great mix of flavors. There was some left over, and he even gave that to her in a chilled side bottle with its own baby's breath flower garnish. It's so fun to watch their bartenders create something from scratch, grabbing various bottles, mixing, tasting, adjusting, and then garnishing and serving. In addition to Ruben's delicious creations tonight, Adrian and Sergio have also made us delicious custom crafted cocktails on several occasions. We will definitely be returning soon for some of their new upcoming themes.

Not to get your hopes up or anything, but he makes your visit to this speakeasy an elaborate and awesome experience. We came here for a dear friend's birthday, so I had no expectations of the place- we just went to celebrate him! One thing of note: vegans beware! Eat before you come here! Our only option is hummus. Came for the drinks though, not the food. The ambiance is dimly lit to create the intimate vibe and there was a Great Gatsby theme. Not sure how often they change the theme but we'll be back soon to find out. Espresso martini was delicious, Across the Bay was delightful, but the ABSINTHE drinks were INCREDIBLE. Green Beast and Love You Better. Thank you Sergio for making Joe's 43rd birthday an unforgettable one.

A crazy selection of beer just as you walk in the door from multiple microbrewery's in cans and bottles. Just open the door and select one. It was happy hour and we got our beers for $6. We had two each. We had the roasted brussel sprouts as a shared appetizer and it was fantastic. The mixology was exceptional. The Gold Rush (lemon, honey, and whiskey) was fresh and balanced, and the smoked walnut cocktail was creative without being overpowering. I typically don't enjoy Old Fashioneds -- they can lean too strong or overly sweet -- but this one was perfectly blended and easily one of the best I've tasted. The food pairings were just as thoughtfully executed, from toast points with roasted garlic and blue cheese to jalapeño poppers, brisket, wings, and a decadent chocolate molten cake to finish. What truly stood out was the atmosphere and service. We made our reservation only a couple of hours before the event, and the staff graciously rearranged seating so we could sit with our friends. The patio heaters, string lights, and intimate setting made it feel like a beautifully produced private event. It was a memorable birthday evening, and we will absolutely be back.
