I am writing this review about Sal, the doll who works the NARS counter at the Macy's on the Mall…read more I am currently working a seasonal position in the cosmetics area. Sal uses our sink, so he stops by fairly often. The girls in the area swear by him, which I took as high praise since they have daily access to all of the counters. When he met me, we were talking about my cult-like addiction to their Orgasm blush. It is SO pretty and sparkly! He looked me over and said that he thought Deep Throat would look even better with my skin tone. I stopped by to get the blush and also had him just choose a concealer for me without even trying either on. I have seen so many women leaving his counter looking gorgeous and feeling beautiful. I was pretty sure I could trust his judgment. He has a great eye for color and skin tones. Needless to say, both products are perfect. I love them. If I ever have an event where I need my make-up done, he is going to be my guy. Until then, I am just happy to have him as my go-to guy for product.

Cos Bar carries some great upscale brands for cosmetics, skincare and perfume (NARS, Lancome,…read moreChanel, etc.). It's a high end chain, but feels like a cute little beauty boutique. The service was excellent, though we weren't looking for anything in particular. There were a few friendly women who asked us questions and one who was doing a makeup application on another customer. There may be a few brands carried here that are harder to find elsewhere, but felt it was similar to what you would see at Sephora or Ulta or a department store, all of which have a wider selection. Well, actually I can think of one thing they had that those aforementioned stores do not---natural light. You can try all the products and I'm sure they'd send you home with samples if you asked. I always like trying important things like foundation at home in natural light so that I can make sure I don't look like a clown. This is especially important here since their return policy is pretty strict. But you could more easily make a decision on colors in the store, because the lighting is that much better.

I had several troubles contacting them at first in order to receive a contract and put down a deposit, which was very frustrating in the moment. But once everything was finally sorted out I later had a bridal trial and then it was the big day! They traveled to a hair salon close to our venue in order to do my bridal party's makeup and hair simultaneously, but they would probably travel anywhere! They were on time, cleaned up all their supplies, and were very appreciative to their salon staff for using their space. I found their pricing fairly reasonable for bridal makeup services and I especially liked how the tip was included in the total price for both my trial and our day-of makeup services. My bridal party was pretty impressed and everything went very smooth the day of.
