Circle Canning is at Moss Street Market during the summer, the Victoria Public Market on Wednesdays and other community markets. They sell salsa, sauces, chutneys and jams/jellies. None of which I usually buy.
But this summer at the Moss Street Market I bought their Primaverde sauce, and proceeded to use it on chicken, fish eggs and all sorts of other stuff. I don't know how to describe it, except that it's delicious. They say it's a classic chimichurri sauce with cilantro added. Yes, me too. I have no idea what that means.
I've just come back from the market with a new bottle of that and a bottle of their Signal Rock Salsa, which is a smoked tomato based salsa. I don't really like tomatoes or tomato salsa...but I like this.
So they have tasting at their stall, which is great. I consider they're fairly priced at $10 for a medium sized mason jar. The people at the stall know what's in everything and are very friendly. Apparently, I'm not going to become a home canner anytime soon so these guys keep me away from the nether regions of the chip aisle at the grocery store and enjoying new flavours. read more
