As you can just see in the picture it is 'The Chipee' ( I didn't log the title). I have actually had conversations about this establishment in Australia, Malta and Brazil where it is well known to many ex-pats who used to travel the A30 before by-pass days and in need of something to eat would stop here. It was then, and for many years, the 'Chip and Pea'.
Anyway things have gone a little up market and smartly dressed 'friers' do the business exceedingly well. Nothing like a good newspaper (ah the good old days) of the nation's favorite dish. Price is a little over £10 for two dinners not surprisingly and the owner told me there will be problems next year in obtaining good quality potatoes for chipping following all the wet weather in 2012. It's amazing that I normally find a parking space but it can be difficult to do so but there is always the Police station across the road if you are feeling brave.
Great food. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed ! read more
