Firehouse Rotisserie - Fresh flowers on the table and a water pitcher all to ourselves

After some browsing for a few blocks, we came across Firehouse Rotisserie and decided to give it a try! First off, the restaurant is in a very beautiful, charming, old building. The building, like this city, seems to ooze wisdom and history! On to the food! I decided to go with the rotisserie chicken with potatoes and other veggies on the side. It was soooo flavorful, tender, and juicy! Seriously! And it was a very filling and hearty meal that fueled our further sightseeing for the day. Service was quick and friendly as well. I highly recommend stopping by and trying the rotisserie chicken!

My sister and I are a bit picky, but I'd had this spot marked for months in preparation for our trip to Bath as one of the few restaurants that had something we'd both eat, and boy did it turn out. We split the margarita pizza and a side of asparagus, which the chef ran all the way upstairs to make sure they had, -- it was so good. Possibly the best asparagus I've ever had, and we were stoked to get some veggies with dinner. The pizza crust was perfectly thin and crispy, but thick enough at the end to really sink your teeth into. Fresh basil and expertly roasted tomatoes (absolutely bursting with flavor) made for an off the charts margarita. It's hard to go wrong here but, this one really knocked it out of the park. Seating was quick, though we were on the earlier side, with water pitcher all to ourselves, which we love to get, and very clean well kept restrooms! -- though not very accessible, you must climb four flights of stairs. Try Mr. B's Emporium of Reading Delights if you have time before or afterwards, which is a beautiful and well stocked bookstore right across the street. Definitely stop by if you're in town, this one was a win! (Try the chocolate ice cream).

Inside there is a great atmosphere with log burners and other decorations and it's not too loud. The service was great. We stopped in here for dinner and good thing we got here early as they filled up quickly. I suggest you make a reservation for dinner. Large parking lot with lots of space, which can sometimes be a challenge to find. The bar man (whose name I have forgotten) was amazing. He was taking orders, filling drinks, seating people, being a cashier, and just generally everywhere at once. He had a couple of girls helping him, but this place could not run without him. There is seating both inside and on a back patio. We opted for inside, because it was still sunny and quite warm outside. Quickly after ordering, bread and oil was dropped off. The bread was delicious and the oil and balsamic vinegar was yummy. The fish and chips were very good. My husband enjoyed his pork and it's a good thing he likes peas (see the photo). Overall the food was pretty good. I was impressed with The Northey Arms. Service was extremely good with how busy the place was. The restaurant was large and the food was good. The barman was friendly and I would absolutely eat here again.

Sure, you'll have to swim through a sea of hipsters and Klaxon-wannabees to get to the bar, but don't let that put you off as Start The Bus is one of the friendliest all around perfect bars you could visit. If you come late expect live acts of considerable talent to be banging on til the wee-est of hours. They've had Switch, MSTRKRFT and Ladyhawke play here in the past, not on a big stage, but just on a platform right by the cracking little dancefloor. If you like electro-indie which I surely do, then you'lll love the sounds here even if all the ironic T-shirts and assymetrical haircuts have you wincing. Aside from the music, the decor is sweet... with cute cartoon designs all around and a lovely red, black and white colour scheme in homeage to London's routemaster buses. There are some of the most comfortable old leather sofas and an assortment of board games for daytime timespending. It's just a shame I don't live anywhere near Bristol
