Listen, I want to love Edible Arrangements. I really do. However, the difference between the photos…read moreshown online and what you actually receive is, in my experience, pretty significant.
I'm especially frustrated because I know I took photos of my original order when they first brought it out to me, but unfortunately I can't find them on my phone (I did take one on yelp thankfully so the red bucket is the first thing I received when I arrived- and compare this to the online order photo). Let me tell you, without exaggerating, what I originally received looked like about half of what you see pictured here (black cup is what I left with).
I ordered the Sun-Rational Fruit Arrangement, which was $90 after tax and everything else, and it was supposed to be ready for pickup within an hour of placing the order. About 20 minutes before my scheduled pickup time, I received a call saying they were out of the key fruits for this arrangement, specifically the mango and kiwi.
I asked what they could substitute, and after some back and forth, they agreed to add additional strawberries and a few chocolate-covered strawberries. Fine. This pushed my pickup time back another 30 minutes.
When I arrived, I was honestly shocked by how little fruit there was. There was SO much greenery. If you look at the online order photo, there is barely any greenery visible. I expressed my frustration, and they offered to add more fruit. Unfortunately, adding more fruit initially did not really improve the overall appearance. They even put it into a smaller container, and somehow it looked even worse (missing these photos).
I want to be clear that my frustration is not with the young woman helping me. She was very kind and genuinely trying her best. She explained that based on the order, there was a specific number of each type of fruit included. I kept explaining that my issue was not necessarily the exact number of pieces, but that what I received simply did not look like what was advertised online. Thankfully, she understood where I was coming from and agreed that it did not look like the photo.
After another hour and a half of back and forth, we finally ended up with the arrangement you see pictured here (black cup). It looks much more like the original photo online, although you can still see quite a bit of greenery.
The actual fruit, presentation, and overall concept of Edible Arrangements are really nice. Unfortunately, I just cannot justify returning. When you are paying around $90 for an arrangement, I expect it to look reasonably close to what is advertised. The difference between the online photo and what I initially received was simply too significant for the price.
I appreciate that the store ultimately worked with me to improve the arrangement, and I have no complaints about the employee who helped me. My issue is with the product being advertised one way online and initially delivered looking like something completely different.
