I have wanted to check out this local store for some time. Stopped by on a Sunday during their…read moreoperating hours. The sign said open and the window advertised specials. I walked into a small crowded space, which was dominated by a group of children doing crafts. I assume it was a birthday party. As I entered, the adults on the premises looked at me like I had two heads. Feeling like I had done something wrong, I said "I'm sorry, is the store open?" You would think that this is where someone in charge would realize they should have locked the door and put a sign up about the private party, and then apologize to the unwitting would be customer. Nope! One of the adults rolled her eyes at me and said "I suppose it's not." I think this may have been the parent hosting the party, but it's possible it was someone linked to the store. Then a person who I can only guess was an employee of the store said "no, take an envelope!" There were several unmarked envelopes on the door. Perhaps they contain the secret instructions required to infiltrate this establishment, something like bringing a quail's egg under the light of the waxing moon or saying a secret password. Because, I can attest that walking in the door during the store's hours of operation doesn't get you very far. I can't speak to the goods there, because I doubt I'll rouse enough nerve to try to enter here again.

I also didn't have to wait in the lineup for so long (like usual Zara stores during their semi annual sale) which was a bonus. The store was clean, social distancing was being followed and everyone was being asked to sanitize their hand upon arrival at the store.

This Zara took over one of the old spots leading towards the previous food court.. except they took over like 3 of them. The store is really big. I would say rivaling the first floor space you see in Yorkdale. The mall hallway area is gorgeously bathed in sunlight so the store always look bright and sunny. One thing that I hated a lot about the Zara's recently... you feel the apathy towards the store the moment you walk in. It's a mess, clothes dumped everywhere, it looks like a toddler ran through it and pulled all the clothes off the shelves and hangers, and the line up is at least 15 people with only maybe 2 cashiers open. And if you're lucky to spot someone who works there, they might or might hear you when you ask a question. Sherway here... is a tad bit better. It doesnt look like a clearance store and the clothes are definitely showcased better. That being said, their sale area clearly had a dozen people rummage through it and leaving their mark. I saw 2 cashiers open with only 3 people in line... much much better Zara. As for their clothing, I feel they get trends and they know people are just wanting the look and not necessarily the quality to last longer than the season. Maybe I have nostalgia but I feel Zara a few years ago was much better for stitching and the overall tailored look. Now, things just dont seem quite to fall nicely... it's either a thinner material or just a weird design that hangs wrong. Or maybe the new trend is floppy and big? A few tries of some items lead me to give them all back ... I took a look at the prices. Sure it's trendy and may look ok for the season... but $80 for acrylic trendy sweater? or the short plain skirt for $60 that doesnt feel good on? No thanks. I rather go to Aritzia.

Lacoste Boutique Sherway - Return policy on receipt.

They said No. So I asked, can I return it and repurchase it for the sale price, and again they said NO. I was speaking to woman named, Lan. I don't understand why everything was a NO when the receipt states that I can return it in original packaging within 30 days. She kept insisting that I purchased it on sale. Again I said; I am looking at the receipt and the price is the same regular price as it is online. Lan dismisses my concern by going on about how long the sale was and keeps insisting that I paid the sale price. To confirm, there is no sales price and clearly states I purchased it for regular price on the receipt. Also, there is no FINAL SALE stamp as most retailers use on receipts. She seemed confused so I asked to speak to her manager, in which she ended up giving the phone to her colleague Armand. He says he can connect me to Mary, their manger's, direct number since she is not in today. He then proceeds to give me THEIR OWN STORE number. What kind of employee's don't know their own store phone number? I told him that this must be a mistake and point out it's his own store. He then gives me a new number that he says is her direct number but ends up being Square One's Lacoste location. I end up talking to the acting store manager in Square One who was more helpful and offered to help me. I have never had the experience to talk to a sales associate that never knows their own store policy. LACOSTE Train your associates well to give GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!! If you look at Sherway's only other review on Yelp. Somebody had a similar issue ALMOST 10 YEARS AGO, and was only helped by the Square One location rather than Sherway. This evidently shows that nothing has changed in the last 10 years.

I did notice that this location had a lot of really cute dog hoodies. They were salt and pepper button ups which made it very practical for putting on your dog. The sizing was also smartly described since they gave examples of the breed that the jackets fit. These were all placed in a basket so it was a little hard digging for sizes. An employee came over to offer assistance and was really thorough in going through them all. We needed the largest size which was a 24. He let us know that there was one left at the beginning of the day but it must have already been sold. We left empty handed but it was still a good visit.

This Roots store is in the new section on the west side of the "arch". I cannot count how many times a Roots store in Sherway has moved from location to location but this new one is in the bright new section of the mall and has a nice footprint for the store. One thing I found rather unusual was the amount of times I was asked if I needed help by a the handful of employees in the store in the short time we were there. It's nice to be paid attention to but it was something I'm not really used to. It was either 4 or 5 times in about 15 minutes. Still I like the quality of some of the Roots stuff and their brand is still strong. Just the other day I was wearing my '02 Salt Lake City Team Canada long sleeve thinking wow this thing is 14 years old now. As far as the store goes their displays and organization is very good. The staff is over helpful if anything...

3.5 stars Oak +…read moreFort is a relatively new brand to the GTA. It comes from Vancouver with it's minimalist stores and fashion designs. First glance, it's ... basic but I do have to admit the materials do put this above your average spot. I do find the store to be open... like OPEN. I would even dare say the store is under utilized because there is a lot of space and sparse inventory on the racks. Everything is in the basic black and white. Nothing is eye catching and I'm not sure if it's meant to be that way. I often find the store empty all the time. So yes... basic fashions. Simple, functional, and well made. There are lots of flowy lines in the women's side. It strongly reminds me of a paired down simplier aesthetic compared to Club Monaco. You won't find heavy materials or pin tucks. Size way, it's generous ... maybe they grow them bigger in Vancouver but even the slimmer cuts are very generous on me. Most lengths hit mid calf which is odd looking for someone who is short (like me). Service is quiet but helpful. I dont think they actually approach or look at you till you need help. When you do, they're willing to step it up and find what you need. Price wise, this is where it excels better than Club Monaco. You get nicer materials and wear of these pieces for better pricing. Also, I'm happier to support a Canadian brand. For me personally, I dont think the style is quite mine but if I'm ever needing some good casual clothes, I would be willing to step into this store.
