The Centered Child is set up to encourage imaginative play, which I absolutely love to foster in my daughter. She came home every single day full of joy, with so many stories about her adventures. She even felt sad on weekends because she couldn't see Tammy! During her time there, she not only learned how to socialize and make friends but also picked up valuable manners and essential safety skills like how to cross the street properly. Kids are encouraged to get messy, explore water and mud, and have a blast and yet Tammy always makes sure they go home clean. Tammy herself is incredible. When we had an earthquake, she texted me to let me know all the kids were safe before I even had the chance to ask. That's just who she is; she genuinely cares, not only about the children but also about the parents who trust her with their little ones. She keeps everyone informed and uses an app to share photos and updates throughout the day. I found myself checking it constantly because I loved seeing my daughter smiling, playing, and staying so engaged. When it was finally time for "big girl school," I cried because of the impact she had on our family and wishing I could keep my daughter there longer where I knew she was cared about, safe and thriving. I am forever grateful and cannot say enough wonderful things about her program. The price is more than reasonable compared to other places, and the value is unmatched. Ms. Tammy is warm, loving, and gracious. Try to think your favorite teacher growing up and how they made you feel but with Ms. Tammy it's magnified. Her entire space is thoughtfully set up with kids in mind. Her amazing backyard is a Nature Explore Certified Outdoor Classroom! Her learn through play approach and seasonal programming are also well thought-out. She also provides meals and snacks enjoyed family style. Her understanding and passion of early childhood development is reflected in her impressive prior career experience and her mentorship of undergraduate students. During my son's time there she would tell us about the continued education classes she would take to learn the most out to date information about childhood development I can't thank Ms. Tammy enough for getting my son ready for TK. I write this about 4 months after our last day with her. I noticed that he's not just academically ready but also balanced with the social skills gained from his time with her. Teacher Tammy was able to help us understand the needs of my slow to warm kid who had an extremely difficult time adjusting to drop off. He is now the kid at drop off who walks in with confidence, excited to learn, and be a good friend. He talks about her often and is looking forward to visiting to say hi and give her an update on his life at TK! We are extremely grateful to have had Ms. Tammy as our son's first teacher. We couldn't be happier with our experience at Ms.Tammy's home daycare. From the very beginning, we were impressed by how calm, welcoming, and well-organized the environment was. My only wish is that my son could have started there sooner (she had a 2 year long waitlist)! Teacher Tammy is the most calm, thoughtful, compassionate human being. Truly meant to work with our littlest humans, combining creativity, academics and outdoor play. When I began looking for a childcare center for my twins I had many things on my checklist. We were first time parents and did not know many people in the community. Teacher Tammy was recommended by a friend and when I came to her home to meet her I was so happy and relieved to meet such a lovely person. Her home is clean, safe and her backyard is a kids delight! Her daycare and school is just the right size and there is lots of positive and social interaction. The kids learn while playing and are exposed to preschool learning in a fun and safe atmosphere. Teacher Tammy's style of teaching and guidance is excellent organized, and practical. Her teaching style is in-line with Montessori style and she treats each child with love and tenderly care. My kids learned how to share, they played in the sand, built, had lots of sensory play and had many backyard adventures while at Tammy's home. A tour of her backyard alone is pretty amazing! My kids learned how to be independent and accountable to others which is so important to us. Also, Teacher Tammy offers delicious and healthful meals and snacks. I can't recommend this home daycare enough. I never felt comfortable with traditional daycare centers - they put a pit in my stomach when touring them so home daycare has been an amazing option for our daughter. She's been attending this daycare for going on two years now. Ms. Tammy is patient, kind and educated. We feel so comfortable knowing she is safe and cared for while she's at daycare. She's gets a great chunk of time playing outdoors here and different fun activities. She's made friendships and learned manners - saying please and thank you! Our family has been lucky to have one or both of our kids attending The Child Centered Home since 2018. Other than the normal first-time-parent nerves and emotions of our babies starting preschool, we have never had to worry about their safety or their happiness at school. Tammy has soothed them when tearful, challenged them to try new things, helped them potty train, prepared them for kindergarten, and celebrated their accomplishments. The activities are meaningful and the group size is small. The outdoor time is unlike any other program; the kids get to splash in puddles in winter and enjoy water play in summer. Her attention to detail, child development, and care for the kids in her care is undeniable. Her communication at drop-off, pick-up, and through the day is thorough. Seeing the photos of my kids playing and learning is a highlight! Let me just start by saying I was afraid to put my baby in daycare and I was a SAHM for 2 years. My daughter was barley 2 when we started going to Ms. Tammy's. She has so much Patience and she is so kind. She is very organized super clean. She has the kids on a schedule which is amazing. And always updates daily connect app. So you never have to worry or wonder what they did. My daughter absolutely loved the certified nature center in her back yard. Ms. Tammy is all about child development and makes sure she caters to the needs of each child. She always has the kids doing arts and crafts and a great learning project. We loved our time here. My daughter still says how much she loves Ms. Tammy. We had to move, and when we left, teacher Tammy collected all of my baby's art work and made a huge work portfolio and all the pictures she took of her . We are so thankful to have found Teacher Tammy and The Child Centered Home! I wanted as natural an environment as possible for my son as daycare was not originally part of our family plan. My son gets the best of all worlds at the Child Centered Home: positive interaction with peers (just the right amount of peers), LOTS of learning through play and natural occurring events (Teacher Tammy knows how to turn almost any experience into a learning experience), academic exposure in a wonderful preschool room, and lots of outdoor exercise for the mind and body. Teacher Tammy has excellent formal child education and practical experience, which shows in every detail of the way she cares for children. She brings the best of Montessori and Waldorf into a naturalistic home environment with just a handful of children. At the Child Centered Home, children get to experience playing in puddles, making mud soup, examining garden bugs, growing plants, building, pretending, exploring, sharing, and always learning. We are so lucky to have found Ms. Tammy. My oldest will be moving on to elementary school this year, and will be more than prepared, even having only attended The Child Centered Home two days a week. My son is in Kindergarten now, but attended The Child Centered Home for the two years before that. We had such a positive experience there. As a teacher myself I was very picky about what kind of preschool I wanted him to go to, and as a mother I was worried about finding a place my very attached little boy would feel comfortable in. Teacher Tammy definitely fit the mold of what we were looking for. Her program has tons of outdoor time, sensory and pretend play, social skill practice, and then somehow she works in academics as well. My son blossomed socially and academically, and he still misses going to school here. The Child Centered Home is a wonderful childcare program and I am so grateful to have found it while we were living in Temecula. My son attended for almost a year and a half, from age 3 - 4.5 and it was hard to leave! Tammy is kind and focused on helping the children relate to each other while also focusing on making sure they are ready for grade school. I can not say enough about "The Child Centered Home" or of Tammy the director. My son started there at 9 months and would still be there if not for us moving away. The program is just that... child centered. If it is a beautiful day and the kids are having too much fun to go inside they are allowed to stay out and play longer. If everyone is tired from a full morning they can nap until rested. Tammy will make play dough or goop for the kids to play with on rainy days. In moving to California and both my husband & I working full-time, we were in need of dependable child care provider. Tammy is amazing! We couldn't be happier with our daycare provider. I don't know how she finds the time, but each day we'll get a detailed report card on our daughter. Tammy goes as far as tracking everything they eat, when diapers were changed and what activities our daughter participated in. They even do craft projects that we get to take home. Our daughter started with Tammy at 10 months old and we expect to continue for many years. It's always scary starting with a daycare and some at-home places are scary. This experience has been the exact opposite and an easy transition for both child and the parents because of Tammy's kindness and attention to all of the children's needs.
