What I liked most about this company was that Sylvia gave me a quote along with different ideas and packages to choose from. It made the whole process so much easier. We hired Sylvia for our daughter's 18th birthday party for about 25 people, and everything was perfect. They came early in the morning on the day of the event and set everything up, then came back about an hour before the party started with the food. Everything was right on time and looked amazing. The food was delicious as well, and we had plenty of leftovers. Not one complaint about the food, and these were 18-year-old girls, so that says a lot! We also had a photo booth and the telephone where the girls could leave private messages for the birthday girl. That was such a fun and special touch and ended up being one of my favorite things. Aesthetically, everything looked beautiful, and I'll add some pictures so you can see for yourself. Everyone we worked with from Sylvia's company was professional, friendly, and very efficient. At one point, the wind knocked over some of the photo booth decorations, and they came over right away and fixed everything without us even having to worry about it. One other thing I loved about working with Sylvia is that she is a Navy veteran. In…read morethe final month before the wedding, our original event rental company began bringing up some last-minute issues--things we had already agreed upon since the beginning of our contract. First, they suddenly said they didn't want to hang our paper lanterns. Then they changed their mind and said they would, but it would cost $30 per lantern--even though the lanterns themselves cost only about $2 each! I had done my homework and knew that other companies, including Platinum was quoting $2.50/lantern, so we were pretty shocked by the price. Second, just a week before the wedding, they informed us that they needed additional setup time, which would have forced us to pay an extra $1,400 to rent the venue for longer. At that point, I decided to shop around for other quotes. Our DJ recommended Platinum, and I was astonished to find that they were nearly $2,000 cheaper than our original event rental company--mainly because our caterer had been adding an extra 22% operational fee and 7.75% sales tax on top of the rentals. I worked directly with Sydney from Platinum, double-checked for any hidden fees, and she assured me there were none. So a quick tip for other couples: you may want to have your wedding coordinator work directly with the event rental company instead of going through the caterer, as the caterer may be adding unnecessary upcharges. We made the switch to Platinum the Tuesday before the wedding, and Sydney and her team did a phenomenal job. We were thoroughly impressed, especially given the last-minute change. Everything was on time, there were absolutely no issues, and the setup was so seamless that none of our guests even noticed the transitions. The courtyard looked absolutely stunning with the market lights and all 40 lanterns. Thank you so much to Sydney and the team for helping make our day so perfect. I was told one hour before the party, so I followed their recommendation and scheduled delivery for 10am. At 10:10am, with no one there, I called to ask for an update. The person I spoke with was incredibly rude and said she would try to reach the driver and call me back. Twenty minutes later, I still had not heard anything, so I called again. At that point I was told that I had signed terms and conditions allowing them a much larger window to arrive. After the fact, I actually went back and read the 9 page agreement. It does say that the company is not responsible for delivery and pickup delays, but I could not find the larger delivery window I was told on the phone that I had agreed to. Regardless, I had specifically asked their staff what time I should schedule delivery for an 11am party and followed the one hour recommendation they gave me. The bounce house finally arrived at 10:54am, six minutes before the party started. Thankfully it got set up, but having no idea whether the main attraction for a children's birthday party would even be there when guests arrived made an already hectic morning incredibly stressful. The setup was also poorly thought out. Both the blower and generator were positioned facing directly toward the party area, making that entire side so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation. We ended up having to reposition things ourselves just to make the space usable. Pickup was scheduled for 3pm, and unfortunately the communication was no better. No one arrived, my repeated calls went to voicemail because the line was "busy," and I received no response to the voicemail I left. Eventually the driver called and said he was still 17 minutes away. At that point I had a baby and toddler who needed to get home, so I told him I could no longer wait, and he said that was fine. A few days later, I received an email notifying me that they had issued a partial refund because of the experience. I genuinely appreciate that they acknowledged there was a problem and provided a partial refund. However, considering everything that happened, I think a phone call and an apology would have gone a long way. The bounce house itself was fine. The issue was the service, communication, and reliability surrounding it. There are plenty of rental companies to choose from, and based on this experience, I would choose a different one next time.
