The best part about Fun Services is Ms Barbara! The nicest, most helpful and knowledgeable lady in the balloon business. She always goes above and beyond for her clients! It's really not her job to help color match as she is a wholesale balloon supplier. But the fact that she still tries (and she's even given me advice as a newbie balloonist), really is just a testament to the kind of person she is. She is both kind and professional, and is the main reason why I love giving her my business. I also like that Fun Services is committed to quality and only carries carefully selected brands and inventory. They stand behind the products they offer. It's so nice to have a reliable supplier that's not too far from where I live! Also for the people complaining about the masks, that's very unkind and presumptuous to assume she's trying to make you uncomfortable. How do you know she doesn't have an autoimmune condition or is caretaker for someone who is at risk? That's why I wear my mask. read more

Cranky old lady. She is very well experienced about balloons but, we dont feel welcome, she is always rushing us and very unpatient. I think she should have more help in the store that way she is not by herself and being able to take our time in the store looking every cute item she has for sale or asking her for tips to get more knowledge. She might be kind in seconds but, customers should be rushed when purchasing. Love her store! read more

So happy we found this place! I am planning to build a balloon arch with little experience and all I knew was that I wanted to get better quality balloons than my last attempt years ago. After some research I found a brand I liked and then found fun services on yelp. When we got here it was not very busy so Barbara had time to help us out! I had trouble visualizing the colors of the balloons and what they would look like together through the manufacturers website so she very patiently blew up a number of balloons for us to see them side by side. She also shared some invaluable tips for when I get started. I had already watched a few YouTube videos but was feeling overwhelmed and it was sooo much better seeing some examples and hearing from someone so experienced in person. My 4 year old wanted twisty balloons with her Easter money not only did they have what she wanted at amazing prices compared to online or other stores. I rented a helium tank for 200 balloons. I picked it up from his house. The day of the event the restaurant gave us only 1 1/2 to decorate so I end up just doing 40 to 50 balloons. I call the owner and asked him what happened and if I'm getting any money back since I did not used all of the helium tank. He told me once you used it there's no refund back. I know he can tell on the tank how much I used and I paid over a $100 for the helium tank. I was so disappointed because I did not get any money back. If that's the case than why rent and pay that much if I did not used half of it at all. read more

LOVE this place! I rented from Fun Services because after comparing prices from all around San Diego, they were by FAR the cheapest for a helium tank rental (half of what Party City was). I went to rent the tank and was also able to get large, 3' balloons, weights in a beautiful pink color (for cheaper than the dollar store), and 500 yards of ribbon for an insanely cheap price. I came in 2 days before my wedding and was super stressed when I entered the store, but the woman who helped me was just the sweetest thing and so helpful that I was able to calm down and actually relax for a second- it was very helpful to say the least. I would recommend these guys to everyone- they probably have what you're looking for and if they don't- they'll get it for you. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! read more

Luckily one of the gals on our high school reunion committee knew of this little hidden gem. Barbara is a balloon expert, to say the least! And her prices are the lowest around. She has wonderful decorating ideas and can even give you names of professional party decorators should you want to go that route. When I picked up the big ol' helium tank, Barbara gave me a nice demonstration on how to use it as well as explaining the dangers of helium. She took the tank to and placed it in my trunk - and also took it out of my trunk when I returned it. Some folks have complained on this site about the hours of her shop, but you just have to plan for that. And it's well worth it! read more

Unprofessional, unreliable and rude! I called one month in advance to rent two helium tanks for an event. To start off with Barbara, the lady I spoke with told me she was busy and to call back in a few days. After I called back I finally worked out details and made a reservation, we got in a dispute over how to leave a deposit (I am working with a company organization which according to Barbara they can bend the rules to accept a check a check as the form of deposit). When I called back to confirm the next week the story completely changed and she said she never told me any of the information she had said. We ended the conversation with her saying she will talk to her owner to try and see if he will take a check, seeing that we are a company, and that she will call me back. I received no call. When I called back the next few days I couldn't reach her, then another few days I tried again (now 4 days until my huge event) she said the deposit must be credit card. Unhappily I agreed to their company policies, and after, as a customer comprising my needs, I asked her what time I should pick up the tank on the day that I had reserved. Barbara very rudely said she did not have any tanks for me, and that it was my fault because I hadn't contacted her. As I calmly told her how unprofessional her business manner was she rudely said I don't have a tank for you hung up the phone on me. Not only did Barbara cost this company future business as I work with a company who puts on many events every year, I am now short 440 balloons for my event in the next 4 days that I had called 30 days ahead of time to secure. DO NOT USE THEIR BUSINESS. read more
