On the main road, is a large car park, which opens onto the pub's beer garden and the rear entrance. The pub itself dates to the 17th Century and is grade II listed. The facade is pretty as a postcard, with creeper growing over the stone walls. Inside, a fairly thorough makeover gives it a more modern feel, with white and pastels complementing the wooden furniture. They have an a la Carte and fixed price menu. The offering varies from sandwiches and light bites to full meals. I had the garlic mushrooms with grated Parmesan on brioche toast (£7.95), friends had the Locally Sourced Ham, Free Range Fried Eggs & Chips (£10.95); and Beer Battered Haddock with Chips, Peas & Tartar Sauce (£13.95). Although it's a bit pricey, everyone enjoyed the meal and the quality of the food was very good. Service was reasonably quick and efficient. They serve a good range of real ales, too. Recommended.

These guys truly embrace the concept of being the center of village activity. No TVs, no WiFi, these things distract from the community. We walked six miles and it was open! We were thirsty and kind of hungry too, so we popped inside. There were people eating, but when we asked if they were doing any food, they said no... not even cold sandwiches. So we opted for some crisps and a couple of pints. I forgot that I only had my card and no cash, but the lady let us pay with my card anyway. They have lots of seating outside and it has a lovely view of Belvoir Castle. There are public toilets, a large car park, a play area for the kids, and it is right on the canal so if you are walking, you can stop for refreshments.

They cater for large groups and also offer mini tours of the brewery which is always fun and getting to sample their hard work once the tour is over. It has a more than ample outdoor seating area at the front which is great, and even though this is a small little gaff, I have never waited long to be served, even when a mass crowd of bikers turn up on mass to enjoy this little local gem.
