In an excellent location right next to the lovely minster (worth a detour, though beware of limited opening times, we have to knock at the door of the vicarage as the sign said it was open though nobody was there) the Cheese shop offers a small comfortable seating area in which to relax, however the portions are very, very small. For example, my companion had an omelette which was barely bigger than your i-phone, served with a few bits of salad and a teaspoonful of coleslaw - all this for over a fiver... While I was there I caught sight of a "cheese platter" being served to another customer with slivers of cheese that appeared to have been cut using nanotechnology (how do they manage without the cheese crumbling?) so it must be a feature of this place. My bacon bap was just that, a smidgen of butter and some bacon entombed in a cold, soft white roll. A pity they have to be so stingy with the food, as it would otherwise be a decent place to stop for a cuppa. However the take away prices are more reasonable, basically half or less what you get charged at the table.
