Stayed here for one night during a Northwest Michigan nature getaway. Jan and Jim are both super hip kind folks that gladly take care of your every need or want. Jan was very accommodating with my vegan lifestyle and made me a delicious breakfast. The rooms are all decorated different, with lots of original and traditional Victorian decor. Lots of opportunity to learn about the history of the home, the prior owners, and the town. Plenty of literature. The sunroom is fantastic! When the owner mentioned it, I was very disappointed, but once we were there, I was so happy with the opportunity. With any B&B, you're staying in the main house, having idle chit chat with other guests, and sometimes hear people in other rooms. The cabin, you have none of this, just perfect tranquility, silence, and isolation. The owners stocked up the fridge for us and we can have breakfast in our own cabin. It was more of a continental breakfast, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, granola, etc..., but it was so pleasant. The cabin is located about 500 feet from the main house and several miles from the main road, and about 8 miles from downtown Traverse City. You really get in the woods feeling without being to far from the city and you have a river flowing through your backyard. It is a really nice place and I would gladly stay there again.

When you enter you walk into the dining room. From the dining room, there is a door that can be closed/locked which goes into the living/tv room. From here there is a door leading to a fenced back yard area with a swimming pool. The next room is the bedroom and then the bathroom. In the morning the hosts deliver breakfast to the dining room area and since there is a door separating you from the dining area, you keep your privacy yet have hot breakfast delivered to your table. Breakfast is pretty amazing and plentiful and we received a full pot of hot coffee. The property is huge with lots of mowed trails to explore on a lightly sloping terrain. The place is clean, 'country', and very relaxing. We enjoyed our stay immensely and intend on coming back again.

Everything was extremely clean and beautifully decorated. The food was excellent! They cater well to specific food restrictions and changed the menu daily. If they have the coffee cake or the blueberry French toast bake (similar to a quiche), you will have seconds! The team there is superb and we're very welcoming. They are the new owners of the property and seem to have a lot of plans for themed weekends and events. They were keen to make everyone's stay perfect and we're so helpful even when my flights were canceled multiple times and I needed to unexpectedly extend my stay.

The breakfasts were absolutely delicious...fresh baked breads, juice, eggs and fruit awaited us both mornings. It was always extremely bountiful. I'd definitely recommend staying here again if you want a romantic weekend away from the city.
