+ Happy to have found a quiet, well-run place to stay in Ludington. Bonus that they serve a hot breakfast. Very COVID-compliant. Suzette and MaryAnn are so kind and helpful! - Wishing they had a small lamp or some different lighting options other than super bright or none at all. Wine is served until 9pm from the office, but the red we had wasn't good, unfortunately.

Free breakfast - yogurt with fresh fruit, granola, nuts and honey

I loved my stay here. Suzette was very friendly at check in. My room was beautiful, with a very comfortable bed. The included breakfast the next morning was delicious! I would definitely recommend staying here

This place is a hidden gem. Everything is really well maintained. While it might look dated from the parking lot, the rooms are updated and quite nice. We really enjoyed our stay. Be sure to check out the garden and pond. The koi's are huge. We'll be back!

The Koi Pond is quietly tucked away in the back for the perfect setting to drink a cup of coffee or raise a glasses of wine!

It's time to rethink name brand hotels! This is not your average strip or mom and pop motel! This is a bit of Heaven! Excellent value for the money, great breakfast accommodating my diet restrictions, and updated rooms are just a few of the things I love about this gem!

Wow- we really enjoyed staying here! It is so peaceful and quiet. We loved the koi pond and all of the birds nearby, as well as the close proximity to downtown ludington. Suzette graciously helped us with our late check in and made it so easy for us. Our room was very comfortable and the decor was adorable! Breakfast and the coffee were delicious! The owners are so kind and hospitable- thank you for such a wonderful stay!

The view I enjoyed in the hotel's gardens while sitting and enjoying my morning coffee - Wow!!

Okay, I /adored/ this place. I was a little unsure about the size of the room on my initial reservation, as I had reserved the "Small Queen" option for a two night stay. It was just two of us, and I was ready for it to be like literally a bed in a room with a little door to a bathroom. But no! There was a little desk and chair, and also a little bench for your shoes underneath a coat rack, so I never felt like I was particularly cramped or there wasn't enough space for anything. My one request for the main room is to maybe add those folding luggage racks to each room, because we didn't really have a convenient place to put our suitcases except on the floor, and I know some people are really weird about that kind of thing. The bathroom, yes it's smaller than you're average 'hotel chain' bathroom, but honestly it's like the size of a bathroom in a regular suburb-based home. The shower is quite roomy, but one request - PLEASE install another ledge or maybe just a suction-cup toiletry rack or something?? I had nowhere to put my shampoos and such without just setting them on the floor of the shower and I am quite blind without my glasses on. :) The grounds were spectacular. I loved the vintage motel style setup of personal rooms because I never had to hear anyone storming down a hallway in the morning or talking too loudly that I get from normal hotels. Except unlike most motels, this place is CLEAN. The sheets still smelled faintly of bleach and that was super relaxing to notice. Also, NO KIDS. Holy crap I never realized how much I would appreciate a no kids hotel until I was in one in Ludington. No screaming children, no one running around, being crazy. There were so many obnoxious tourist children in the rest of the city it was so nice to go back to the hotel for some peace and quiet. If you're a very light sleeper from a more rural area, you might notice some traffic noise if you're in one of the rooms right by the main road, but we're city-goers so we weren't disturbed by it at all. But I would definitely keep that in mind if you're not used to it, and maybe ask for a room more away from the road. The gardens were /beautiful/. I could open our room windows and hear the sound of the fountain. We sat out there with our morning coffees and did some journaling and it was really relaxing and gorgeous. There's also a little library/study room with books and comfortable seating if the weather isn't great and you'd like to do a little light reading out of the room. I won't even spend forever talking about the breakfast but, /wow/ that was a highlight of our stay!! When you walk up to the lobby, there's a sign listing the daily options for the omelette, usually 3-4 things, and then the choice of yogurt with granola and fruit. They let you remove any toppings that you don't want in your omelette if you're a picky eater, (like me!) and your choice of homemade bread. You get one slice, and whatever homemade jams they have available. And the omelette seems like a 3 egg omelette served with a scoop of fresh fruit and a piece of a baked good. (We had apple fritters!) If you're still hungry, there's a cereal option as well to add onto the rest of your meal. The hotel is definitely within walking distance of a majority of the shopping. We walked down to The Mitten Bar and Kilwin's an afternoon and it was only like a 7 minute walk? Very convenient. And then I guess the last thing I need to rave about is the /service/. They were unbelievably sweet and friendly here. We actually had a mishap on our first day in, 2 hours before check-in we got splashed by a big wave on the Breakwater in our regular clothes! So I called and asked if it was okay if we did an early check-in so we could change our clothes, and they so were so nice and accommodating, "Sure come right on over!" it was really nice to be saved that embarrassment of walking around soaked for two hours. I mean, it's the little things, right? I would definitely come back here again. It's quirky in it's own ways, but I was just swept up by the charm of it. Thank you for the lovely stay, Summer's Inn!

Beautiful hotel, sparkling clean and adorably decorated. Charming private garden in the back with a lovely pond and area for relaxing. Delicious breakfast every morning: omelettes, fresh fruit and the best homemade bread ever. Dorothy is a treasure and took excellent care of us every morning; make sure and ask about the eggs for sale from her chickens. The owners, Keith and Suzette are the warmest, most accommodating people ever and truly made us feel like family. Thanks to Keith, Suzette, Dorothy and the entire wonderful staff at Summer's Inn for a spectacular experience! The Quigleys

Cute hotel with great service. Breakfasts are great and they have many options. Loved the little outdoor area with the pond and waterfall. Very quiet and relaxing. Hotel is close to the beach and downtown shopping. Would definitely stay here again.

    Love this omelette !!!

The door on fridge in the room was open so it took overnight for it to be cold again. The breakfast area was very small and crowded so we skipped breakfast there and walked to the McDonald's next door. Also they didn't keep it stocked well. There are so many things to do there. A small decent gym, a good size indoor pool with a hot tub. A game room with air hockey and video games. Definitely not walking distance from downtown, unless you really like to walk a good distance. The remote for the tv has a Netflix button on it but the hotel has blocked it and it's not available. Definitely would stay here again.

By the end of my stay, there was a problem with the HVAC unit in the 2nd room. The hotel provides free WIFI, but the performance is throttled down to 10 Mb. I had much better performance with my cell phone using cellular data. I used that when I had to. When I checked in I requested a room on the 2nd floor. I thought that would be the top floor because the hotel near the front is two stories. What I didn't know was the back of the hotel is 3 stories. Can you guess where my room was? I eventually ended up with someone in the room over me. I could easily hear them walking across their floor, which vibrated the ceiling over my head. Pack ear plugs if you get a room like I had.

We were shocked and delighted to discover that the best Historical Bed and Breakfast in the nation was right here in Michigan!! So we read up on the Cartier Mansion and decided to make that our place to celebrate. Let me tell you, the narrative on the Cartier Mansion website paled in comparison to the actual facility and experience. There is no possible way to describe in words how breathtaking the Mansion is in real life. Not only that, but the cuisine ( which we later learned was created and prepared by the head chiefs who spent 6 weeks in Europe learning the best international dishes to serve in order to start your day feeling pampered with amazing endorphins from the meal !!). Jenna and Chris ( the owners) greeted us personally and gave us a thorough tour with the historical perspective. Every amenity that we could've imagined was thoughtfully provided plus many that we couldn't even have thought we needed, but completely enjoyed. Not only was the facility something that FAR exceeded our expectations, the recommendations for meals, shopping and activities were spot on. If there was a way to rate Cartier Mansion and it's owners anything above the top level, I'd double it. Thank you Jenna and Chris for the best experience..... it was far above our dreams and expectations :) Wendy and Gail

But Nader's also has the word "suites" in its name, so that appeased my snobby side enough to take a chance on this place. And I'm glad I did! If only all motels were like this one. First of all, Nader's offers suites, which come with full kitchens: a stove/oven, full refrigerator, silverware and dishes, a kitchen sink, a living room that transforms into a pull-out bed, and a little kitchen table. There are two TVs in the suites, plus two full-sized beds. It's all very tidy and nice for families, because you have so many comforts of home. The one thing that wasn't my favorite about the suite is that there isn't a bathroom sink. You have to use the kitchen sink for everything. Which I'm sure most people don't care about, so your mileage may vary. But the rest of the hotel amenities offset that minor inconvenience. Things like the Adirondack chairs that circle around a big fire pit that's lit in the evenings. The free bikes that you can just pick up and ride around Ludington. The basketball court and little area with corn hole, shuffle board and giant Connect Four. The outdoor pool (that's heated, but not warm). The free wifi and free parking. The location -- oh man, the location! You're literally a four-minute walk from the beach. All of these things make Nader's a great place to stay for families. And other families must agree, because we saw lots of them during our stay.
