    My view
    Julie C.

Cute hotel in a cute area close to downtown. Not close enough to walk to the restaurants or nightlife. My room was not nice though. Peeling wallpaper and my view was on the attic overlooking a parking lot. We had drinks and the cranberry Moscow mule was delicious. I think others in my group had better rooms but somehow I got the worst. Thankfully I only was there to sleep so not a huge deal.

    My bed

Not any better than a Holiday inn. 1st room we got (rm #207) had bugs on windowsill, then awoke to them literally on my bed. Should've know when the floor needed to be vacuumed (& the AC didn't allow it lower than 70 & it was warm).... Ewwww. I told the 2 guys @ desk & showed video of crawling bugs next morning. Next day switched to another room on 3rd floor (. Literal brown drip stain from seat to floor - in the front of the white toilet.... oh & the toilet seat is loose, so it shifts ....plus toilet paper on floor & stains on bedroom rug. Plus ... Its warm as Hell and it says 72. It will not permit us to go lower (" thermostat limit"). Thank God I bring Lysol wipes and it's our last night. What an end to a sister trip ..... Wait - not the end. Can't make this up. Bat in our room? After 2am awoke to a flying bat... where did it friggin come from? 3rd room appears ok, but it's been less than 2 hours. Friendly staff at front desk sweetly apologizes each time. UPDATE 7/7/21: Laura, the General Mgr reached out to me. She sincerely apologized & refunded our 2 night stay. We were not expecting that & really appreciate it.

Normally we don't require much in a hotel since to us, the trip is what you do and not where you stay. I saw pictures of this place and read other reviews, and we were looking for a hotel while staying in Concord because I had a class. My wife agreed with me and we opted to stay someplace nice. The rooms are spacious, we ended up getting a suite on the third floor that was attached to one of the turrets. It was awesome being able to sit with a 270 degree view of Pleasant Street. There were a ridiculous amount of televisions, three of them in the room (bedroom, living room, and dining room). Other amenities were iron & ironing board, cable television, WiFi, telephone, refrigerator, nightstands with lights, bureau, soaps/shampoo/conditioner/lotion, towels, and bathrobes with slippers! The bed was very comfortable, I was able to get a decent nights sleep while here. Everything about this Hotel was relaxing. It was a little cubby area in the back on the first floor, but there was a computer available to guests to use with printer. I thought that was quite nice and helpful. The staff were very pleasant and the whole building is beautiful. Oh, my favorite part was the cookies! This sounds stupid, but every afternoon there was a fresh baked pair of cookies on the bureau left in your room. They were always something different and made the stay more memorable.

Fresh homemade cookies with turn down service!

Was looking for a room for 1 night as we were in town for the Hillsborough Balloon festival in early July. Thanks to my trusty Yelp community I came across The Centennial. Upon arrival we were not sure if we were in the right place as the entrance and parking lot are around the back of the building. The check-in process was smooth and seamless. Our room was clean, comfortable, and cozy. The beds were incredible! I could only wish my bed at home was that comfortable. After being out for the evening we returned to 2 homemade cookies which was a very kind gesture. There is a restaurant located in the hotel that we didn't have a chance to try but it looked very classy. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend The Centennial to anyone who is looking for an upscale yet affordable place to stay in Concord.

Wonderful hotel. Modern amenities with New England charm. Rooms may be on the small size because it is build in and historic building. People are very friendly.

    Superior King room

Gorgeous exterior, modern interior, friendly staff, beautifully decorated rooms, nice touches like lemon cakes and bathrobes. It's a great crossover between the cleanliness of a chain hotel and the historic, small style of a typical New Hampshire inn. Missing: bigger lobby, pool, tub in the room. However those are what you trade off when you get a cool historic building like this! They'd have to expand and lose the charm to add pools and fancy lobbies.

Parking: The lot is uncovered and does share the space with the restaurant next door. We were able to find a spot pretty easily on our visit, but it's I can imagine if we were to have come during peak season parking might have been problem Lobby: There are ample places to lounge or sit and enjoy the big screen tvs all around. There were also many areas to plug in your devices that have 3 prong plugs and there was a coffee/tea bar to warm yourself up. Breakfast: Complimentary hot food from 6am-10am for hotel guests. On my visit they had "made to order" pumpkin pancakes (you wave your hand on the machine and it'll make it right then and there), a yogurt machine, oatmeal, some egg dish (either omlette or scrambled, as well as hard boiled), some protein (sausage patty or links), bagels (with a toaster oven) and some accruements. Gym: Although I did not utilize the gym facilities my friend did and he said that they had one cycle, three treadmills, a set of weights (smallest at 5lbs) , kettle bells, and a wall mirror on one side of the room. Room: I loved the big screen tv. They had a smart tv subscription services available; however you'd need to put in your own account info to access the services. They had Disney+, Netflix, and Hulu at minimum. The bed was a little soft for my personal preference, but I did enjoy the soft pillows and the king bed. The shower had a nice hot water pressure and they supplied a large shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion that's attached to the wall. Wifi: It's good for the most part, but sometimes it would cut in and out on my cell phone. It was consistent on my laptop though. Summary: I paid around $125 a night (for a king bed) through booking.com and considering the amenities, parking, room it was definitely worth what I paid. I'd stay here again!

The soap/bathing products in the bathroom are this addictive lemon scent that I'm looking to purchase online through Amazon or Ebay. The complimentary breakfast the next morning was fantastic and that pancake maker machine whoozy-whats-it was so cool! Don't miss it.

Continuing to Cayla the day front desk, who is somewhat better and works hard but does not have experience knowledge or support from her seniors. Carrie/Kerry and her GM Michelle are simply lacking the professionalism and respect to even begin to understand the very nature of 4* customer svc let alone the very basics of customer satisfaction. They are borderline discriminatory and at the outset rude, interrupt customers for the most basic requests, repeatedly making excuses, and simply cannot support the level of svc this property should have. We stayed three times to be sure it was consistently bad, under two different booking names. The allure of the high quality restaurant/bar and covered barking let us coming back. But it won't again. We have had enough of the AI robot voice calling us "sugar" and "honey" and offering us walking directions to a "good cup of hot chocolate" instead of just telling us the breakfast hours - which by the way is cooked by a robotic (I'm not joking, com's see for yourself) automated egg cooking machine - which does a decent job! - when it works and doesn't include broken shells. The express machine is good. The evening repackaged Market Basket linzer and black/white cookies are avg. But when you ask three times and make four phone calls just to get a simple work surface desk so you can do emails at night and keep up with work obligations - only to be told that "govt rate rooms only get certain rooms" after being promised a desk - enough is enough. We paid $600, and spent another $500 in the restaurant one week, but apparently they had more important customers. And we were dumb enough to come back the next week thinking it must have been a a busy week. But nope, they just don't care, doesn't matter - they were 40% booked according to the front desk lady - and you get what you get, no desk or king bed available - even though the website showed they were. Sorry folks - this property must have a secret code word - I hope AAA knows they wasted a rating here. Much better properties in NH that better represent our NH hospitality industry. We specifically booked a pet-friendly room through Expedia so we could bring our two well-behaved dogs. Upon arrival, my fiancée--who made the reservation--was nearly denied check-in because her name didn't match the credit card, even though the reservation was in her name. Only after an unnecessary and rude interaction did a manager finally allow us to check in. Later that evening, we returned to find that our dogs had been removed from our locked hotel room without notice or consent. The front desk agent was rude, dismissive, and claimed not to know where our dogs were. We were never called, even though our contact info was on file. A fellow guest eventually told us that a hotel staff member had let our dogs out, and they had been wandering outside. One of them had run off down the street--near a major highway--before we were able to find her. We immediately packed up and left. We were there less than 6 hours and were charged over $500 for a two-night stay. It took weeks of being bounced between Expedia, Choice Hotels, and Comfort Inn staff to get any kind of resolution. In the end, they refunded only one night ($246.72), despite putting our pets in danger and making it impossible to continue our stay. Comfort Inn's handling of the situation was disgraceful. The staff showed zero concern, accountability, or basic customer service. Expedia and Choice Hotels were just as frustrating--shifting responsibility and making it nearly impossible to get help. If you travel with pets or expect even basic professionalism, I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel--and this hotel chain--entirely.
