If I could give a zero I would. Husband went for a beard trim and hair cut. They buzzed the part right under his nose and left the rest. Never have I seen someone with a small shaved part right under their nose and a medium length beard. Went to ask a refund. They said they don't do refunds and then proceeded to say "well he should have specified" After getting his beard shaved totally off we will not be spending a dime more in this place. I have been here once before about a month ago and had a really good experience. So yesterday I called to see if they could fit me in and they were booked up. The lady that answered the phone said she could book me an appointment for Sunday and gave me lots of times. I chose 1200 and was booked for a touch up and beard trim. I live across the street in the Rapids so I walked down and opened the door at exactly 1147 am. I checked in at the desk and the person said "She will be right with you sir". I sat down and started waiting as four or five people came in around five to ten minutes after me. They all checked in and were asked the same question "Do you have an appointment"? They all said yes and were almost immediately taken back for a haircut. Now, I completely understand there are different barbers and stylists so that wasn't an issue. However, 30 minutes later I had watched all of the people who came in after me get service, pay, and leave as I sat there with confusion about what was the problem with no one telling me anything. So all in all I will not be back again. There is a way to manage a business and a way to force someone to write a negative review. I have nothing negative to say about the quality of haircuts but I will say there isn't a better way to lose business than to not only inconvenience a person but to watch them observe how you operate and disrespect them with silence until they get up and walk out. Lucky for me, I have a voice in the community that has a little more impact than The Cave realizes. Thank you for showing me your business model. read more

I've been in the military 15 years and have been at 7 different bases. It's always a challenge to find a quality barber that can cut a good military haircut. Sadly the ones on the base are hit or miss and usually walk away disappointed. The Cave Uptown is by far the best barber shop I've been to. All the barbers are great (but I go to my favorite each time). The atmosphere is a "man cave" atmosphere and they have a Nintendo 64 for the kids to play (or the dads) while the kids get their haircut. They take walk ins but usually better to make an appointment. This is the first place that has cut my son's hair and when I went home the wife wasn't mad at what they did. Definitely check out this place for a great haircut then walk a block down the road and show off your new cut with a cup of coffee or whatever you fancy. read more

I am so glad that the Cave decided to hire Brandon. He is an expert of his craft, knowing how to utilize each of his tools with the utmost precision. As someone with thick asian hair that most barbers have trouble cutting, his expertise shows. His skill and attention to detail are the reason that even after moving away from Columbus, I seek him out wherever he may be cutting hair because I know that I can trust him with my hair, no matter what I ask him to do with it because he truly understands hair. Brandon is passionate about what he does and it shows. That being said, my experience in the cave was spectacular. The decor is incredibly charming, with the exposed brick and the variety of furniture. You definitely won't feel bored being there or feel like it's too sterile. The atmosphere is super cool, the managers and front desk staff are friendly. Awesome haircut! My hair is difficult to work with because I have a cowlick on the back of my crown. Despite this issue, The Cave hooked me up with a stellar cut! My barber understood what I wanted and delivered! Also, the atmosphere is second to none. All of the girls are friendly, fun and we had a good time while I was getting my cut. They have monster energy drinks for sale and retro video games to play while you wait and that is just another layer of awesome that makes the whole experience enjoyable. Comfortable place with friendly staff. They spend a lot of time making sure the cut is right then straight edge the back. -1 star because it was $33 for a basic military cut that I can get on post for less than half the price. You get a better cut here but I can't say it's 2x better. read more

Best barber is Columbus. Everyone that works here is great (personal preference is Brandon). Highly recommend booking your appointment online. Expect haircuts, especially the razor fades to last about 45 minutes to an hour. I never get "razor bump" after a hair cut here unlike ranger joes or any on post barbers. read more
