Divorce is tough and I'm beyond grateful for finding Melone Hatley PC. No one can prepare you for…read morethe emotional toll and financial stress, but after a year, my case is final. Personally it was the hardest thing I have ever experienced, but my team was AMAZING!! Arian Selah and Claudia Mendez were the dream team! Shout out to Erika Williams who came in and assisted in the end. Arian from the start was so sweet, gentle and a beautiful soul. Her team would work on my case late into the night and always communicated with such respect. It's disappointing to see negative reviews on any of these individuals. If you aren't prepared financially, don't blame the experts. If you don't agree with their professional advice, perhaps it's not a good fit. I have nothing but positive things to say about who represented me. If you are looking for a compassionate lawyer who is sweet as pie, ask for Arian!! Her team will not disappoint and they'll get you to the finish line. Thank you so much!!!

Let me first say that I do not like leaving bad reviews which is why I deleted my original Google…read morereview, but after the interaction I just had with the attorney who handled my case and the way she responded to my feedback, I won't be deleting this one. I want to start by saying that I do not believe the entire process was bad at all nor do I believe every interaction was bad. I also want to add that I do not blame the firm for the judge's decision or the GAL's report nor do I believe the attorney could "control it" as they say. There were definitely times where I felt that like I was being listened to with the upmost professionalism, but other times where I felt like I had to basically chase them down to figure out what was going on or what was being said. There would be times where I wouldn't hear a word from them, but that didn't stop a large bill from coming my way. Ultimately they could really use to improve client communication. If you have a client that asks you questions or says "hey can you please give me some updates here or there so I'm not in the dark", why would you not simply just reach out and say "hey so this is what's going on". Your bills are going to be large regardless so why not just communicate. I initially left a negative Google review that I deleted because the attorney who handled my case decided to reach out to me and I felt bad about it. I *specifically* said that I felt like the GAL portion of the case could have been handled better, and specifically said I did not like being told "I highly doubt the GAL said this" in reference to the other party telling me what the GAL told him (just for it to be true and included in her report) just for the attorney to turn around and basically say those words to me AGAIN. Instead of examining the criticism the attorney instead decided to speak to things that weren't even brought up in my response to them. Snide remarks about Virginia Law protecting parent's rights "regardless of your feelings about the other parent or his past conduct" was not needed in our exchange. Talking about my disappointment with the outcome of the case had absolutely nothing to do with what was said in my review, I was not blaming them for what the judge decided. I was saying that more advocacy could have been done when it came to the GAL instead of just letting her run the show. The response "the GAL's recommendations carry significant weight with the court" literally just affirms what I said about them letting the GAL run the show. The exchange has left a sour taste in my mouth and I encourage you to really weigh your options, do your research, and find a firm that has experience with a situation like yours before deciding to go with this one.

The case for the legal fees went to a Circuit Court of Virginia hearing My lawyer decided not to attend and instead sent a junior partner, Bret Giaimo, whose hands were visibly shaking and voice kept breaking up with nerves. Judge Stoney was clearly not satisfied with the Giaimo's explanation for Jaros' billing practices and awarded me only 70% of my costs as reasonable, leaving me over $11,000 out of pocket. When I asked Jaros to amend his billing to better reflect what the judge determined as reasonable, he refused. Even when I asked him to split the difference he flatly refused. To add insult to inquiry, after the court hearing Jaros sent me a long email telling me that I should look at this as a victory because the defendants were not happy with the amount they had to pay out . He then billed me a further $113 for the 'pleasure' of his email. Overall, I was billed more than $40,000 and was awarded $29,000 by the court as reasonable fees. I reached out to their CEO, Paul Abraham, but he didn't bother to reply. USE THIS COMPANY AT YOUR PERIL!!! *Sort reviews by lowest and you'll get the true picture
