I believe The Highline opened a few months ago in August therefore there are still many vacant storefronts. Right now, De Fer Coffee, Green Mountain Energy and Anytime Fitness exist in the building now. There are still multiple spaces and I'm excited to see what comes in the future. Architecture, views and design are 10/10.

In recent years, it was redeveloped and renamed after New York City's High Line. It contains office space, retail space, a coffee shop, breweries, a fitness center, a conference room, a parking garage, and an elevated park. So far, I have used only the parking garage. It contained plenty of spaces for vehicles, and it also had a lot of support columns compared to other garages. My husband paid $3 to park here while we ate at a nearby restaurant. Since our House was completely renovated inside out by the seller - the only major thing that the house needed was "repointing". For the newbie H/O Repointing is the process of removing deteriorating mortar from the joints of a masonry wall and replacing it with new mortar. It's a labor intensive and a pretty expensive job. But don't get too alarmed since repointing is supposed to last for at least another 50 to 100 years. An expensive job like this calls for a lot of research - So, after going through few different contractors - I finally reached out to Enrique Avila from Avila Construction. Enrique and his crew came the next day and after few rounds around the house - he came up with an estimate which was far lower than the other contractors. Needless to say - we went with Avila Construction. Fast forward a week and the house is neatly tucked and re-pointed. He was very professional and understanding about our requests and asked up to double check to make sure we were happy with his work. So, if you own or are planning on buying an old house that needs major renovation. I would highly recommend you contact Avila Construction since they specifically specialize in remodeling older homes.

Enrique will also tell you why you should not do something ( like knock out a load bearing wall) and what you can do instead. You can't go wrong hiring these guys.

Finally this fall, I re-checked regional listings for a Buck Stove service provider and found Hall's Pools Spas & Fireplaces. They've been in business almost 30 years; not sure whey they weren't listed before. They are an official Buck Stove dealer as well as for several other brands. What a refreshing experience! The initial phone call, I had a friendly staff member who provided several options about scheduling and whether to bring the unit in or have their staff come to the house. We brought it in (its very small and semi-portable). The in-store experience was great--the staff quickly examined the unit, patiently asked questions to understand exactly what the problem was that we were experiencing, and gave me an estimate for time and cost, and waited for me to confirm yes, that was fine. I already felt good, but then whoosh, they called the *next day* to say the work was completed, the fireplace was good as new! Different people on the return visit but the same level of knowledgeable, polite friendliness. They reminded me we live in their service area and the charge for them to come out (vs me dragging the unit to them) is nominal. Now the unit is working great and we are so happy to have a working fireplace again!
