After spending the morning pounding at a keyboard and not exercising anything but my mousing…read moremuscles, I took a break for a workout. I stopped here and enjoyed my time. In the late morning, the place was barely occupied. There was no one joining me on the 30 minute circuit so no distractions, just lifting and twisting and stepping. Back to the locker room and a shower. This is where it went less than ideal. As my shower continued, the hot water cut out. That was disappointing. As for the physical components of the shower, I love the glass door partition. That was pretty awesome but there were no hooks and nowhere to put my stuff. I ended up dragging over a chair from one of the the changing rooms. Not sure I would return to this one. It needs some help. And yes, I did mention the hot water to the club attendant - he said they're working on it. [Review 748 of 2024 - 507 in Texas - 21779 overall]

I've been going here with my partner for over a year, and the quality has markedly declined…read more Machines are starting to show neglect, loose worn belts on the treadmills, cracked upholstery on machines with almost half the timers and counters on each are not functioning properly or not at all, dirty bathroom floors with hair rolling up in dust balls, and staff too busy chatting to give a rip. Along with the giant bucket of tootsie rolls on the front desk as you check in was a large new sign declaring "no gym bags or backpacks allowed in gym floor". Ok, makes sense, but what did I see? EVERYBODY carrying one as they worked out. What does that say, I wondered? They have a theft problem! Many of their small lockers were unable to be used, open but someone put them in lock mode without shutting the doors. Hmmm... Then, in the larger lockers where you can use your own lock, a bigger sign strongly suggested that no valuables should be kept in them! WTH. No wonder everyone kept their "luggage" at hand! Then, silly me, I left a sweaty hoodie with holes, empty pockets and a broken zipper on the treadmill. Checked at the front desk if they had it? Nope, not a clue! Gone! Pretty bad when a stinky worn out hoodie gets pinched. Lmao! Yes, they have a BIG theft problem when two staffers don't have a clue what's going on, but then again, they do have master keys to the wall lockers. Sad. Maybe they should pay more to hire better? I don't know, but it looks like it's time I need to find a better gym. I do not feel safe here anymore.

Pros: 1. Saunas are separated male and female…read more 2. Gym has lots of different rooms/ private spaces. ( reasons why it feels a bit small to me.) 3. Members have 24/7 access. Cons: 1. Went day after opening to try it out. It looks cool but idk equipment seems extremely small. Ran on the treadmill and felt like I was going to fall off. 2. Only staffed during business hrs, 3. Went on day 1 - the gym was not clean. Still debating on a membership, most decent gym in the area.

Paige- I hope whatever kept you from returning my 3 calls was worth it. Zero stars for customer…read moreservice. Feel free to check my prior Yelp/Google reviews- I primarily post praise where it is due, preferring to simply let my money and business to speak for itself with substandard service but after providing ample opportunity for AMPED to make this right, I will leave this VERY POOR REVIEW with a clear conscience. We cancelled well within the 1st month trial period & according to contract info emailed when we signed up in spring of 2025, a very different picture of what cancellation entailed unfolded (opening was with repeated delays but I was willing to wait.. wish I had taken that as a sign of the Jerking Around, yet to come). We were charged $171 for the cancellation. Isn't a trial period just that: a TRIAL period? To add insult to injury we were again charged $65 for another month in December, and it has now been almost 5 MONTHS, over a dozen emails, 10 total calls between the local franchise and the Corporate office that repeatedly insists this is a local matter and has essentially washed their very bloody hands of the situation. As they say in the Business World, 1 bad review = 100 good. The $236 dollars won't break the bank for me, and I figure this review will do zero in the way of resolution so why not get my money's worth- money that is already gone with little hope of recovery. I have dealt with 3 other gym entities in my many years of working out and have never encountered this situation- the Gym Membership horror stories are apparently alive and well in Mesquite. So take this as a warning when considering this business and don't let the shiny, new equipment blind you: CAVEAT EMPTOR. (You will also find this as a cut-n-paste on Google and wherever else I can warn people- enjoy)

I attend the fitness classes, which combine strength and cardio work, without the more complicated barbell lifts found in CrossFit classes. If you're already in a healthy place, you should be able to jump in and go immediately. If you're more like I was a year ago, the coaches can help you understand how to ease into an exercise regimen in a healthy way that won't get you hurt. The Gym has a friendly atmosphere/culture. Everyone is encouraging and kind. The coaches are exceptionally helpful and unless you have extensive experience (and even if you do), I believe the coaching/help is worth the extra cost relative to what you'd spend at a mega-gym.

The class sizes are small, so there is a lot of personal attention given, which makes it an excellent value. Before a bike accident I was a competitive off-road athlete and my fitness achieved at the gym helped me to advance further and ride faster than I thought was possible. After the accident and starting over with fitness and mobility, the gym and coaches were great at helping me modify the workouts so that I could participate and rehabilitate. I love just being able to show up and have a plan ready to go, and the group workout environment is great whether you like it for competitive reasons or to just be around some friends. Whether you are a beginner or have years of experience, there is something for you at this gym!

The Village Fit Gym - Super clean locker room!

The Village Fit Gym

My friend lives in an apartment in the village and she has access to this gym, so while I was…read morestaying with her, we decided to come and work out together. The area where the gym is located is extremely nice, the commons where all of the shared village grounds are (including restaurants and coffee shops, along with this gym) is extremely upscale. My friend told me that in the past, it cost five dollars to bring a guest to this gym, but when we came on a Sunday morning, they told us it was actually $20. We went ahead and went for it since it was just one day, but in the future, just be aware of that. The gym itself is very nice, the facilities are very clean, especially in the locker rooms, and there was a plethora of equipment. Walking in there is a check in desk, and just to the left there is a big staircase next to the indoor space housing a basketball court. If you go up the stairs, there are a lot of machines up there along with free weight /free space areas with kettle bells and yoga mats etc. There's also a small outdoor area with some machines, including a battle rope and a few others. If instead of going up those stairs on entering you keep going towards the back, the locker rooms will be on your right, and there's some additional equipment under the staircase adjacent to the basketball court. Around the corner, there is also a lot more freeway equipment, including a Smith machine (my personal favorite) and free bars for squatting/benching as well as Dumbbells and things of that nature. I noticed also an outdoor area with like maybe a parkour area? I wasn't sure exactly what it was but looked like a grown up jungle gym. And just behind that, there was a large (and busy!) tennis court. On the other side of the gym itself, there were also some large fields that looked like maybe they're for soccer or some other field sport? I didn't see any soccer goals though. There's also a pretty long sidewalk surrounding area that would be nice to walk around, but just be mindful it's not a very shaded area and in the summer in Texas it's pretty hot so I would be careful about that. If you're living in the village, the location of the gym is really great because it's so close by. My friend and I were running late so we actually did drive (took 1-2 min from her apt) and parked in the parking garage underneath the village area; on the Sunday morning that we came it was just free to park there and we didn't even have to take a ticket, the bars were just up when we came in when we left. However, I imagine that if it wasn't a weekend, you may have to get a ticket and pay or validate. Last thing to note: even though it was a Sunday morning, there was a pretty decent number of people in that gym. I never had to wait for anyone to use any equipment or any machines, but I did see some people talking to each other about that. My friend told me that it was basically "empty as far as she was concerned," compared to how it is during the week when apparently it's much busier and you do sometimes have to wait for equipment. Overall, this place is really nice, and given im thinking about possibly moving to Dallas in a few years i am quite strongly considering this area because of how nice it is, and because of the presence of this gym! I wish they hadn't increased the price for guests (or had a fee at all), but for those living here and just using the facilities complementarily, this is a really nice place.
