I am currently about 8 months pregnant with a high risk pregnancy, which makes walking long distances very difficult and medically unsafe. When my boyfriend picked me up and we returned to the complex, someone was parked in his assigned space. This immediately created a stressful situation because I cannot safely park far away and walk without risking my health. He called emergency maintenance to get the towing company information and was initially told they did not have it. After some time, the representative called back with the number. However, when we contacted the towing company, they told us they cannot tow without management authorization. Since this happened on a Sunday when the office is closed, there was essentially no working solution. We were then forced to wait until security came on shift at 8 pm, only to find out it was his first day on the job and he had no idea what to do. There was constant back and forth with his supervisor over the phone before he could even begin to assist us. We were then told he needed to take a picture of the vehicle and post a notice for two additional hours before it could be towed. Mind you, this car had already been there since the morning, nearly 12 hours at that point. Yet somehow we were expected to wait even longer simply because no one was reachable all day. This is extremely concerning from a safety standpoint. Something could happen to me right now having to walk farther than I physically should, and there is no effective after hours system in place to protect residents or their guests. If a property offers assigned parking in the lease but provides no way to enforce it outside of office hours, that creates a serious safety risk. What is the point of paying for an assigned parking space if it cannot be enforced when it actually matters? The situation did not improve the following day. When this was brought to the office staff, the response felt completely scripted with repeated "I understand" statements but no real accountability or urgency. We were told we could just park in the front, which makes absolutely no sense when residents are paying for assigned parking. Even after explaining my high risk pregnancy, there was no attempt to provide a real solution. We were then told we should have posted the vehicle on the community app, essentially suggesting that residents should do the job of management and enforcement themselves. We have lived in many communities across multiple states and have never encountered such an absurd procedure or level of incompetence. To make matters worse, it was a Monday during normal business hours and the manager was nowhere to be found in the office. The lack of urgency, care, and accountability toward residents and their guests is alarming, especially when people are paying for amenities that are clearly not being protected or enforced. Additionally, there is frequently a woman who appears to be under the influence occupying a handicap parking space for hours at a time. This is not only inappropriate but raises serious concerns about safety and monitoring within the community. This is not just frustrating. It shows a major gap in management, emergency preparedness, and resident support. For a community that presents itself as professionally managed, this is completely unacceptable. Residents should never be left without options, especially when health and safety are involved. See pictures for the crackhead. He has also been asking for a copy of his lease for the past two days and they still have not emailed or printed it for him.

After having to tow a resident who parked in my reserved space, that individual began waiting near my parking area early in the mornings while visibly displaying a firearm. This behavior created an environment of intimidation and genuine fear for my family's safety, so I immediately started searching for a new place. Out of concern for retaliation, I did not escalate the matter legally. When you are dealing with someone openly carrying a weapon in a threatening manner, protecting your family becomes the priority not escalating a potentially dangerous situation further. Despite explaining the circumstances, management focused strictly on documentation requirements and insufficient notice, ultimately refusing to waive the early termination fee. There was no apparent consideration given to the delicate and serious nature of the safety concern that forced our move. In addition, both tubs had visible rust issues. They were refinished (painted) during our tenancy, but when tubs are rusty underneath, the paint tends to lift and peel within a short period of time. Within a couple of months, the resurfacing began lifting again due to the underlying rust something beyond a tenant's control. At move-out, we were charged for peeling, stripping, and resurfacing, even though this appears to be a recurring maintenance issue related to rust rather than neglect or misuse. (Please see the tub's condition under the painting, this was exactly 6 days after getting a glaze. So you will be forced to continuously repaint, because the actual issue is the rust under the paint) No family should have to choose between financial penalties and their peace of mind. This experience reflects a lack of empathy, flexibility, and meaningful attention to resident safety concerns. I do not recommend this community.

The FTC sued them for hidden and fake fee. They sell your personal information to tons of advertisers. They tried to get me to double pay rent multiple times. Their corporate operation is incredibly difficult to work with. The front desk staff is rude. The property is poorly maintained even though the maintenance staff themselves are outstanding.

Called back and had to leave a voicemail on the answering machine and called directly to the office where they told me it's not an emergency because my apartment isnt "flooded". I said okay I'll just move the cup and bowl i put there so you can come treat it as an emergency. And still said nope too bad so sad not an emergency. They just don't wanna do their job. Lazy. Until the Palms on Scottsdale! From the beginning the office staff makes you feel like you are bothering them. Even during the initial approval period when they are a little more attentive they still are not great at service. Once you move in though, they are awful!! They are not friendly, do not seem to care about anything, and do not try to fix any problems. The manager is the only competent one (when she is there). Everyone else in the office is clueless and very unhelpful! In fact I'm not sure any of them are ever there since they do not ever answer the phone or return your messages! Any issue at all and they act like it wasn't their problem! I do not recommend this Mark Taylor property! It does not live up to the Mark Taylor standards I've come to expect! Thankfully I only lived there for 6 months! I could not imagine living there for a longer period of time!

The manager Glenn runs the property very well, he hosts events frequently to get the community together with themed events, and everyone is very friendly there. Maintenance was extremely infrequent for me, but when I needed any, I received it same day and sometimes same hour. Maybe the best part of the standard is its location. One block from the start of old town Scottsdale makes it an easy walk to the many shops, art exhibits, and great food options. We've only had a few minor maintenance issues since move-in, and the maintenance team has been fantastic about addressing them quickly. It's very reassuring to know that both the office and maintenance staff are so attentive and responsive. The community itself is cozy, welcoming, and well maintained--and the three beautiful pools are definitely a bonus!
