I chose one and was again shown options for it which I would purchase ion the future. Absolutely excellent advice and service... As I was leaving Kendal I phoned my wife and we decided I had made the wrong choice so a phone call to the shop (somewhat embarrassed) but again, brilliant service and nothing was too much trouble. I ended up exchanging the camera (still boxed and unopened) and was again assisted i my choice...... All of this excellent service and at the best prices on the internet!!!!! Got to say a massive thanks to Andrew and Wilkinsons. I also noticed other people being equally helped and offered excellent help and advice.....will be back for all my photo needs in future....Thanks Wilkinsons!!!! Ray Guselli

I live in London but am in the Dumfries area often - and I now wait until I'm up there as I find the staff in the Dumfries branch so helpful. They're also great for really daft queries and never talk to you as though you're stupid. Sorry you had a bad experience, but generally they're great.

While the stock of SLR digital cameras in the shop itself tends to be small their catalogue and on line site can give you anything you want including second hand reconditioned models. The do it yourself film processing for digital cameras are quite simple to use for any one with a knack for computors but for the others a member of staff will gladly lend a hand and once you've used it you wonder why it was so hard to work out before. They can blow your photos up to quite big sizes in a very quick time and can offer courses run throughout the country for those first time buyers who feel they need a little help in using their camera properly.

It may well be possible to get better prices online, but for me the advantage of buying from a shop such as Jessops is that you can see and hold the equipment, and being a national chain they can provide finance as well.
