Service was great and you can't beat the location. Aside from that, it's a pretty average motel. Rooms are dated, but large and very clean. My husband and I got a kick out of the lack of "normal extras" (hairdryer, iron, phone...), albeit I'm sure they had these around on request. Wouldn't be my first choice next time I'm in Jervis Bay, but if you're looking for a budget-friendly motel with a great location, it's not a bad place to stay. You get what you pay for with this place - focus on the low price and you'll be happy with your stay. Again, staff is great and the couldn't fault it for cleanliness.

I thought it was a joke. Finally, we got sat and we just waited for menu's. I can't believe the waiter forgot to give us menu's! How awkward for all of us. We all knew it was going to go further downhill from now. I went up and asked for menu's the waiter just looked as if to say, "didn't think you needed em'". He looked annoyed and that just got me pretty angry. Still, I didn't do anything. We ordered at the bar a steak meal, a pasta spaghetti meal and a seafood platter of some sort. It was the longest wait for the food. Over 30 minutes and the restaurant bar didn't even look too busy. Seemed like an average night and I observed as the waiter chatting to fellow staff. Finally food arrived. We felt the food and it was no longer hot. It had considerably cooled down. At this point I realised, this waiter has no idea how bad their service is. The prices are way to high for what you get. Food is not satisfactory. Steak was cooked dry, spaghetti lacked flavour in sauce and seafood very oily and deep fried. I was not impressed. With most places, I like to give them another try, but as far as I'm concerned, when you pay a moderate to high price, you expect the meal to follow suit.

We stay up here at the same time every year for the last three years. And love it every time!! Location - right next door to St Bernard's, so you can always get a decent steak, and some plonk from bottle shop, and get to cuddle a gorgeous St. Bernard!! What more can you ask for! Try and get a room on the second floor to really enjoy the view. There's nothing like waking up and looking out to the dewy beauty of mount tamborine, makes that deadly drive totally worth it Oh and did I mention HEATED BLANKETS!! The couple who run it are lovely, approachable and friendly, and will go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable, There's a pool, but man. It's so cold up there that the only people who swim are drunks bomb diving at 3am on a dare :)

The pub itself is quite large, and also has a pretty decently sized beer garden as well. The other thing that I really liked about it was that they had a great selection of beer on tap as well, which is quite surprising for a suburban pub in Brisbane.

I may not be an expert in this area, but my gut instincts tell me that ladies won't have much fun here on a Saturday night. Despite my catty remarks and protests, I did end up going to The Glen eventually but fortunately not on a Saturday night. My husband worked down the road at the Technology Park at Eight Mile Plains and The Glen was convenient for networking functions and work parties. Their steaks, pizzas and burgers are good value for money and pretty tasty for pub food. Also, the Glen takes advantage of its location by spreading out the alfresco area to accommodate large crowds so it's never too noisy. The huge deck is also perfect for weddings and other functions. So while this is probably not the place to go for good times on a Saturday night night, it's not a bad local pub for a meal if you're too lazy too cook or you want to have after work drinks.
