DO NOT take your dogs here!! If I could rate 0 stars, I would. Historically I have taken my dogs here randomly for daycare and boarding. Each visit has gotten progressively worse. After this last visit, I will NOT take them back there. * RACHEL SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO WORK WITH ANIMALS. She has referred to my dogs as 'monsters' and has no compassion for the animals she interacts with. During this last visit, my dogs were kept in their kennel almost the entire visit because another dog (an unneutered male that I believe was Rachel's own dog, "Winston") decided to aggressively go after my dog because he'd tried to mount hers. Instead of separating the aggressive dog, she kept my kenneled. They had no response when I asked why I wasn't called to be notified of the situation so I could pick them up. They wouldn't have said anything if I hadn't asked specifically why I didn't see them on the cameras while they were there. Rachel tried to justify the situation saying that the aggressive dog has separation anxiety from another smaller dog, so they let the smaller dog in with the larger dogs.. and instead of separating the aggressive dog (and the smaller one if needed), they punished mine. Mind you, there was no sensitivity to the impact this had on my dogs, or the cost that I was paying for them to have the daycare experience. If I wanted them to sit in a kennel all day, I would have taken them somewhere else. Rachel acts like she is on a power trip and enjoys being cruel to dogs. * It stinks and is unsanitary. From the moment you walk in the door, there is an extremely potent odor. Every time I have picked my dogs up, they are disgusting. I have boarded my dogs at multiple other places in the past and never had the issue of the location or my dogs smelling. I very rarely see the staff clean (in person in the front office or on their webcams) and when they do, it's clearly not as thorough as it needs to be. * I've attempted grooming at this place in the past with negative experiences. After a few visits they began charging me a 'difficult dog handling fee' for my lab's bath, who will literally lay in a bathtub because he loves the water so much. I don't buy it. They cut his nails too short and now he has major anxiety about having his nails trimmed. * They are chaotic and disorganized. The staff do not communicate well (to guests or each other) and are unprofessional with their use of bad language (again, Rachel) and make negative comments about their owner, Paul. They are constantly yelling at the dogs in the back, which you can hear from the front office. * The owner brings his dogs in (I want to say at least 4) who all sit in the front office and are not all friendly to other dogs. My dogs have been growled or nipped at multiple times, which only contributes to the chaos and negative feeling in the office. Even just reading how he responds to other reviews goes to show the quality of his character and lack of compassion for others. PLEASE spare your pets the damage of going here! read more

We've used this place for almost two years, a lot! They know our dogs name, know her needs and are so good with her. I have them groom my dog because she was traumatized at Petsmart. And I love the affordability and how good they are with her. I highly recommend this place if you need to drop the dog off for a few hours or all day! We had a good experience the first time. The second time we picked him up, we paid then were told that our dog was attacked by an unaltered dog. They never called us and told us, didn't tell us till we paid, and the incident wasn't recorded in their books. We called to complain and get our money back but they said that the manager had to approve it. They said they probably wouldn't give us our money back though. We've been calling for weeks and the manager keeps dodging our calls and making excuses. Really unprofessional. I just don't want other dogs to have such a bad experience in the future. When I brought my poodle and maltipoo in for grooming, the groomer spent a lot of time showing me pictures to get an idea of how to trim ears, face, feet, tail, etc. a poodle owner understands the many options when starting with a new groomer and I appreciated her time and desire to do a good job. When I picked them up, I was asked for payment before seeing my dogs. When my dogs were brought in, my jaw hit the floor. They looked worse than when I brought them in and one dog was wet. Their hair was kinky and not brushed. I said I was very unhappy and the groomer asked what she could do and tried to brush them, but she clearly didn't know how to groom poodles. She apologized and said she was new at this, I wish I knew this before. I feel sorry for the groomer because she really felt bad and admitted my dogs didn't look like the pictures. I told the employee who took my payment, I was very unhappy and the response was, we don't give refunds. I wish I could post photos so you could see what they looked like. I am staying with a bunch of other small dog owners in a property this summer and when they saw my dogs, they cancelled the appointments they had at the same place. I posted photos and was going to post what they should look like after paying almost $100, but didn't want the public to think the good grooms we're done by this business. read more

MY CAT ALMOST DIED! This holiday season did not bode well for my family and I due to the negligence of the staff at this pet hotel. We dropped my cat and dog off on December 22nd at 8:30 am on our way out of town. I gave clear instructions to the woman who checked me in that my cat was diabetic and needed to eat her breakfast in conjunction with her insulin injection. We were 6 hours into our drive when we received a call from the pet hotel that my cat was crashing and being rushed to the vet. I asked if they made sure that she ate and their response was that they put a bowl of food in her kennel. In my opinion a pet hotel should not advertise that they are capable of taking care of pets who require medication if they cannot properly monitor this pet. Unfortunately we had to turn around and cancel our trip because we could no longer afford to go out of town. I took the $370 vet bill to the pet hotel and explained that I felt they were responsible. They wait 6 hours to check on a diabetic cat when this whole situation could have been easily avoided. The manager had the nerve to say "well we can't force feed the pets ma'am". How about instead they check on my cat after an hour or two and give me a call if they noticed she hadn't eaten. We were told that they "might" be able to cover half of the bill and that they would give us a call. Two weeks later and we still have not heard from them. I will not be taking my pets to this pet hotel again in the future. I would recommend that if your pet receives medicine to take them somewhere else because the $2 administration fee is a joke. read more

We had an appalling experience boarding here, and dear friends of ours did too, recently, with their grooming services. We advised the owner and two employees of a variety of things regarding our dogs, all of which apparently went unheeded. The employee at the front desk admitted that the form we were filling out as instructions for the stay wouldn't get read or used. I should have turned around and left right then, but I ignored the gut feeling I had. Shouldn't have. This place is utterly unprofessional, and the environment is total and complete chaos. The owners and employees seem to have little to no knowledge of animal behavior and psychology (I'm not asking for a PhD here--I'm asking for fundamental posturing cues, appropriate introduction protocols, etc.). Larger dogs frequently and easily jump the partitions "separating" different play groups, and the facility is constructed such that there is constant echoing off the walls, which is a major stress inducer for creatures with such excellent hearing. They were keeping a tiny (maybe 2-3 pounds) teacup Yorkie loose in the front office, and it was constantly being run over by the other large dogs they were keeping in the area. Not impressed. You're obviously welcome to choose to go here, but I highly recommend spending at *least* five minutes in each of the areas before making a decision, including the front office, because it's not worth stressing to the limit a perfectly good dog or cat. read more

Our dog has been at the Pet Hotel a number of times for playtime, boarding and grooming. She is never particularly happy at being left there even though she loves to play with other dogs, so that always worries me a bit. She is much better at another facility we take her to occasionally, but I have never worried much about here. The grooming there has always been so-so. It seems always a different groomer and she is NOT good about having nails clipped and we understand that, and have been fine when they have left them un-clipped. We grind them at home, and she is fairly ok with that, which we do tell them. We have had them re-do her face before, since they don't seem to want to do what we ask for. Usually we 'take what we get', and go. Today, they had her a ridiculously long time for a grooming. When we picked her up, we were charged an "aggressive dog fee" on top of the grooming fee. Really? An 'aggressive' dog? Is that because we already told them IF she was not cooperative about her nails to leave them? Is that because they didn't even do much of the rest of the grooming which she does NOT have a problem with? Is that because she isn't very happy with the facility to begin with for some reason, but is fine elsewhere? Maybe if they had told us she was being generally unruly to begin with, we could have just paid the 'aggressive' fee, the bath fee, and not any grooming fee since it doesn't appear they did much of that part. Now, after paying, all that, we will either have to pay for another actually experienced groomer to finish her, or finish her ourselves. We hadn't been back for a while...mostly because she needs a bath every time she has been in daycare or boarded there because she smells badly. I guess we don't really have a reason to return unless at a last resort. Sad, but true. read more

Update to review left by my mom, Sana H.: Since the death of my mom's dog in the care of the Cache Valley Pet Hotel and Day Camp, the owner has threatened to take legal action against her for any reviews left regarding her experience. One of their employees tried, unsuccessfully due to HIPAA, to obtain a copy of the necroscopy report from 3 different facilities. Because they were unable to view the report (asking rather than threatening could get you a long way), they obtained an attorney to write to her and let her know that her dog did not, in fact, die from drowning as stated in the report (without having read it obviously). At this point the Pet Hotel and its owner have gone out of their way to harass someone who is still grieving from the sudden loss of her dog in a facility meant to care for animals and keep them safe. It is unfortunate this happened. We know it was accidental, but it was also neglectful, and the lack of empathy on the part of the facility is pretty disheartening. We understand you don't like having a negative review....but when a dog dies in the care of the very people who are supposed to be keeping him safe (for only an hour), then the public should know about it. read more

As I sit here waiting to pick my dogs up on a Sunday morning, (they open at 8am) it is almost 9am and I can hear my dogs and others frantically barking inside and there is NO ONE here. They have not been fed, medicated or let out to relieve themselves after being locked in their pens since probably 5 or 6pm last night. Apparently the one person who is in charge of caring for the dogs here had to go to the ER with their child last night, which I am sympathetic to, but doesn't this place have a back up plan? We had a family reunion up at Bear Lake and the cabin we were staying in would not allow pets. We found the Cache Valley Pet Hotel on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Our dog Otto had the best time with the other large dogs. Every once in a while I wanted to "check in" to see how he was doing. The live webcams came in very handy. We could see our dog interacting with other dogs and the handlers and were constantly assured by that that he was having a great time. I have 2 younger brothers who boarded their dogs there over the same weekend and they have nothing put great things to say as well. Highly recommended! read more

I was recommended this place by a friend as I am new to the valley. Now to clarify before I get started, my dog was slightly matted but I had just brushed him all the way out the night before his grooming. I bring my dog in to be groomed around 11am and I discuss what I wanted to be done. They said that they would start grooming him around 12-1 because someone who was self grooming was in there and they said it would take about 3 hours for his first grooming there. I was fine with that because I wasn't busy until that night. I get a call at 3pm from the groomer. She told me that he was heavily matted(which confuses me because I had spent three hours the day prior to make sure he wouldn't be) and that she would have to change the cut. I would of been fine with that but she said something along the lines of "I am going to have to cut him shorter then planned or else I may cut his jugular open and he may bleed out. But I'll add in a teeth brushing for free. Is this okay?" I said yes, but honestly I just wanted them to get away from my dog. At 530pm I call them because I have been so nervous and he was suppose to be done at 4 by the latest. I was scared that they had killed my dog and didn't want to tell me(and in the wavier you're sign there is something about they aren't liable if the dog dies). They said he was about ready to be picked up. I drive there and it takes them 10 minutes to get to me. They bring him down and I almost didn't recognize him. He was shaved to the skin on his whole body. I am not bringing my dog back there after they treated ME that way. Also, they have their own dogs there just walking around. One of theirs bite me in the leg, and they didn't even apologize. Thank goodness I was wearing thick pants, because even then it left a big bruise for weeks. read more

Facility owner doesn't give a crap about your dog, only your dollar. Had my dog was staying there for a few days while on vacation. She was attacked by another dog that had been kenneled there for months and required 100's of dollars in surgery and will take weeks to recover. Facility owner didn't seem to care, he told me several times I signed a liability waiver stating I knew it could happen. In talking to him he said the other dog had attacked dogs there several other times but in his "proffesional opinion" it wasn't aggressive becuase it didn't attack them often enough. He said if I wanted any sort of compensation I would have to talk to the other dog's owner and that he would not approach them on my behalf. However he wouldn't give me their contact information to do just that because he wasn't sure if he should. Told him I didn't want to bring my dog back he he allowed aggressive dogs to come back in an open boarding environment like that and he said I could just stop coming back if I was worried. he never once volunteered to refund the remainder of my multi-visit pass, had to specifically ask for it. At the end of the day the facility owner doesn't give crap your dog. He'd much rather risk your dog's safety in exchange for the money he gets from boarding an aggressive dog for 8 months straight. read more

If you love your pet, I would not go here. THE ABSOLUTE WORSE THING is that today they buffed the poor pup's pads on his feet down so much that when we take him out he bleeds. We cant get him to go to the bathroom because he just whimpers with every step he takes. They also trimmed several nails back so far that he is bleeding out of them too. This isn't just one paw too, all four are giving him trouble. This was my experience, last Christmas we left him there 6 days later we come back to him with a chunk of his ear gone. We didnt noticed until we got home and there was a bloody patch on his ear. We were not informed ever what happened. He was just cleaned up and sent home. We gave them the benifit of the doubt since it was probably pretty packed for the holidays and hard to manage so many dogs. I found out later they were just left unsupervised for LONG periods of time. Fastforward to today, we have gone two more times to have him groomed (today and some time in jan). Both time we were charged extra for things we didnt ask for. Today it was an extra 23 dollars (we asked for a simple grooming $20 a basic bath ended having to pay $43). To make it worse he really isn't much cleaner than if we were to toss him in the bathtub. We were also told he would be done somewhere from 3:30 to 4PM. I went to pick him up at 4 to give them extra time (he is a Border collie and their coats usually take longer to dry). As I showed up I was told he was not done and would be in another 20 minutes. No bit deal I ran an errand and came back. Didnt get him until 45 minutes later and he was still wet. Had to take him home and brush him and dry him for a service I had just paid 40+ for while his poor paw bled. read more

She was professional! The facility and organization were pathetic. My puppy Lincoln just loves this place. The staff are so friendly and are just as excited to see him and Lincoln is to see them. When we pull into the parking lot he gets so excited and runs right inside, jumping into the staff's arms. He's made a couple best friends here, and they tucker him out; by the time I pick him up he's ready for a long nap. If you are gone during the day and are sick of locking your dog in his/her crate, this is a fantastic option. read more

Our 7-month-old lab stayed here while we were visiting family in Logan (they can't have animals in the house) over Christmas break, and she LOVED it. At least, I'm pretty sure she did. We came by a few times to check her out and take her on excursions, and when we brought her back she was always straining at the leash, eager to go where all the other dogs were playing. The staff members were very nice and friendly and recognized us each time. At the end of her stay, we had them bathe her, and they said she was very well behaved. I can only assume she took it so well because she was so tired from playing and having fun. We will definitely bring Luna back. read more

My friend and I brought our dogs in to get their nails clipped, and we certainly will not be doing it again. They had 6 or so dogs loose in the office, which is fine, but then proceeded to cut my dogs nails in the room. I really wish I had spoken up and advocated for my dog. But the girl who was doing it had no idea how to cut nails properly, barely took anything off my dogs nails. I will have to do it myself today anyway. My dog loves to go to the Pet Hotel. In fact, she knows it by the name "Paul and the Puppies." She will actually wag her tail and get exited if we ask if she wants to see "Paul and the Puppies." My dog is older and kind of a loner (she doesn't even play with dogs), but she likes to be in the presence of other dogs while she lays on the futon. The staff there love seeing my dog when she comes for a stay and she seems very happy to greet them like old friends. Sometimes she does not eat when she's here with all the excitement going on, but a nice staff member sat with my dog and watched her eat which is actually how you get her to eat when she's out of her routine. I'm so glad we have this option in the valley and for their Sunday business hours! Very reasonably priced too. read more

My usual kennel was closed for some reason and Cache Valley Pet Hotel was recommended by a friend. The price is good, the people are friendly and obviously love dogs. I have a dog that has a hard time warming up to people because she was abused by a former owner but she felt comfortable with the workers at this kennel almost immediately. The dogs were able to play with other dogs all day and were obviously having a good time. My problem with the kennel came the day I picked the dogs up. The dogs smelled AWFUL and I was told that Fergus had had poo stuck to his bum when they came and that he was wet because they'd just washed him off. Also, they had run out of my dogs' food so they'd been feeding them what they called "house chow". It turns out that the house chow had given Fergus some pretty serious diarrhea. We were driving home to California and ended up staying the night in St. George, where Fergus kept me up all night with a constant stream of surprise poop. So, take your dogs there but make sure you take plenty of your own food or you will have a dog or dogs with explosive diarrhea. read more

I boarded my older golden retriever for a couple nights. When I went to drop him off there was confusion with the person working the office. She could not find my reservation at first, I had to pull it up on my phone and then they finally found the email stating that they could watch my pup for the nights that I had originally requested, thankfully! She said the person that responded did not enter it into the reservation system, which could have eventually left me in a very bad situation. When I went to pick up my dog I noticed immediately that he had a pretty noticeable bite mark on his cheek, the guy that brought him out did not mention anything except that he was having a really good time playing with another dog. I feel they were trying to play this off and don't know what the hell they were thinking that I wouldn't notice something like this on my own dog! I had to bring it up and they said "oh it must have just happened before we brought him out". They then asked if I wanted them to apply some antiseptic spray, of course I said yes until I could get to the store for some ointment, etc.. I could tell from previous experience that this was not a fresh wound, no new blood and it was starting to close up and develop a little scab. I am worried about an infection and when I get home I will now be taking him to my vet. If they would have came forward from the get go I would have felt better as they most likely had been taking care of it by cleaning it, applying medicine, etc.. but to try and pass it off is unacceptable. Oh and by the way he stunk so bad like piss I had to take him to a self wash for an additional $15. I am aware that boarding/day care places often smell, dogs play/mouth each other and fur gets matted, etc. and other things happen but in all my years boarding pets I have never had a dog stink so bad after a couple days visit. I am not sure if this place is just not sanitary or what but man it was not good. As far as I am concerned this company cost me more than double in vet fees, medicine and a wash than the cost of the 2 nights. The locals might like this place due to lack of service for day care but the boarding services suck! read more

We took our dog here. His temperament assessment went great. But when it came time for him to stay it did not go quite as well. My dog isn't very good at realizing when other dogs are upset and don't want to play anymore. On the first day He ended up being bitten on the nose and it swelled. They claimed to have try to contact us but we did not receive any calls or messages. The people that were there weren't really sure what had happened and couldn't give us much detail. They told us that they were giving him Fish Mox to help with the swelling and have us some to take home. When we got home we also found a puncture bite mark on his side and a severe rash on his belly. I later looked up the side effects of fish mox when given to dogs. It included swelling of face and rash. We took him to the vet to make sure everything was okay. Our $20 stay quickly turned into over $100. We were not particularly pleased ESPECIALLY since they did not make much of an effort to contact us after the initial injury. We understood that they was a chance of injury since he would be with other dogs. But we were informed that we would be contacted if anything happened. No phone calls were made or messages left. Quite upsetting to me. read more
