My cheeseburger was great, my daughter's tenders were spot on, and - as always - the root beer was amazing. The "retro" decor is a lot of fun. We enjoyed the pictures of the old times and the menu sign from the 1960s. We look forward to returning next year. By the way, this location is leaps and bounds better than the location in Lake George. We ate there earlier in the week and it was quite disappointing. Once again, Wilmington A&W delivers!

She selected a classic North Country hot dog with Michigan sauce (IYKYK) I had a Chicago dog, and we shared a diet cook to wash down our dogs Kathy is a connoisseur of both hot dogs and Michigan sauce. Her verdict: the Michigan sauce was delicious and excellent (not too sweet - too sweet is a cardinal sin in her book). Excellent news if you're a fan of Angie's Michigan sauce: it's the house sauce at The Timberwolf in downtown Schroon Lake. Also, Mitch is looking into bottling it for sale The bun was very good and substantial enough to stand up to the dog and sauce She favors natural casings and snappy dogs - this was steamed and not snappy Not sure if that's because of the hot dog or the steaming... The stand will be open Friday to Sunday for the rest of the summer. Also, it will be at the Schroon Lake Farmers Market once a month during June, July and August. We found this place online, and asked them if they would like to come to a tournament we were hosting at a local school as a part of the concessions. The fundraising would consist of a portion of the hot dogs that were sold that day, a small portion would go back to our organization. The stand was successful and everybody enjoyed having them there! When it was actually time to cut a check for our portion of the fundraiser we never heard from them. When I did finally reach the owner he told me we would receives flat $75. Which I thought was great! When I asked how many hot dogs were sold, (for my own curiosity, and to report back to the board, the owner got very angry and defensive. He stated it was none of my business how much they sold and did not need to share those numbers with us, and so on. Considering that the agreement was agreed upon how many hot dogs were sold/ we would receive a portion of it..... it was an important piece of information. To this day we have sadly never heard from him again. We basically gave him a venue for the day, and he was dishonest and never gave the proceeds for that fundraiser back to the youth organization. The story has a very predictable ending..... I bet you can guess what we never received in the mail? No matter how great an establishment is, if the foundation of it is built from dishonesty, and lack of conscience for what is right, I cannot support that business. This was 2 years ago.... plenty of time to do right. - 5 stars if that was an option
