The staff was really friendly but also seemed overwhelmed at times. When we got on the boat we found none of the gauges worked, including the gas gauge and speedometer, which seem pretty important for driving a boat. The ladder is only two rungs and about 9 inch wide which makes getting back onto the boat very hard and painful at times. You really need to throw yourself back on the boat if you decide to go swimming. The motor also seemed under-powered and sputtered at times if you gave it too much gas. But the biggest joke is you are apparently not allowed in the lake which we were never told about from the start. I know, right? A boat is not allowed in another connected public waterway. If you are out there some rude kid on a green jet ski will ride out to you and yell at you. I asked them back at the shop if there is someone out there guarding the lake because it seemed ridiculous and we weren't sure if this guy was even affiliated with the shop. But they dejectedly said yeah it was probably the boss' son. I can only assume they don't want you on the lake because these boats could probably break down at any moment. When I told them about the broken gauges they just told me "yeah, they're all like that". Bottom line, if you are looking to save money and rent a boat that essentially just runs this is the place for you. If you want a better experience and be allowed to go into the public lake spend the extra money and go somewhere else.

It's a simple but well-stocked outpost. The pontoon boats hold up to 10 people and cost $100 for four hours. They're super nice and are flexible with the return times as well. Fishing on Sodus is relaxing, unpretentious and affordable. Definitely recommend this shop for an outing on the bay. Most of the fish shy away from the sun by 11:30 am, however, so you'll have to get out there early to make the most of the day.

The shower in the bathroom is to die for and the loft had a full kitchen so if you don't feel like eating out you can stay in and cook and enjoy your meal at the table right by the doors looking out at the lake , can't wait to plan our vacation for the summer time and bring the kids with us this time , they would love it just as much as we did ! You can't just ban customers because they want to reschedule their trip. What kind of scam business is this? Cheryl is a disgustingly rude person - just look at the way she has replied to other customers. We were repeat customers after visiting last fall; I wanted to bring my friends because the area is quiet and there are lots to do even thought the cabins aren't the best. There is a fire pit and corn hole equipment to use in front of the cabins. This is a perfect place to rent for a group or even as a couple or family. It's so nice that there is a wine tour option available with these cabins. We did a 6 hour tour and it was super convenient. The wineries in the Finger Lakes are amazing! The van that took us was clean and had snacks and waters in it. Great added feature for the accommodations. Cheryl and Jim are such nice people! They dealt with everything in a very professional and kind manner. They are so responsive to emails and any questions we had while staying. They are available to help with anything you may need during your stay, but they are non-intrusive and give you your privacy at the same time. They are some of the kindest people I have ever met. They gave us so much information about the cabins and area beforehand. This definitely help make our experience a great one. I will definitely be back to the cabins as soon as I can!

They thought of everything one would need to have a great, relaxing time. A gourmet breakfast was served every morning in an open air pavilion. ( I am a retired chef and was very impressed by how delicious and beautifully presented the plates were).In the evening, Jeff would start a roaring fire in the fire pit and Rainey would serve fancy marshmallows for the guests to enjoy. They even provided gas grills and and all the utensils you would need. They really thought of everything to make you stay easy and fun. They were so friendly and easy to talk to. I feel like I knew them for years. The tents are well spaced and you have plenty of privacy. They are beautifully decorated and the bed was fabulous. I loved falling to sleep to the sounds of frogs singing every evening. The location is near many attractions such as wineries, lakes and a water park only a short 15- 30 minutes away. We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast and weren't sure what to expect. This place exceeded our expectations. The mansion itself is beautiful. Every time we walked around the house we discovered more treasures, everything from the molding to antique pieces. The property has a lovely view of the Erie Canal. Each morning there was coffee waiting or us outside our door on a beautifully arranged tray. Then we went down to breakfast. I hate to repeat myself but the table was also beautifully arranged. We tried several different dishes during our stay, each one delicious. Our host, John and Rebecca, were there for our every need, without being intrusive. After running around all day It was so relaxing to return to our room each night. We asked several relatives to stop by and see the place. Our Aunt was thrilled as she had driven by hundreds of times and never been inside. She was not disappointed. One extra point. They have a friendly dog named Riley who helped us forget how much we missed our own pets. We plan to return here each time we return to Syracuse.
