You wouldn't expect such a cute little coffee hut to be out in the middle of literally nowhere, but here it is. Adorable. A few smattering of tables inside and out, teeny tiny- but oh so cute. And gosh are the owners nice. We got coffee and snacks from them every day we were camping and the best kept secret campground in Alaska. They saved us from having to fire up the cook stove while we were still bleary-eyed. The coffee is also excellent- and their lemon pound cake is super tasty. Don't miss this gem when you're driving down Route 1 on your way to order from Homer though Ninilchik. read more

Great coffee near the Ninilchik campground. What could be better? They have it: a warm, cozy, dog-friendly cafe, with two welcoming gentlemen making tasty cups. They're fast and awesome. I will never drive past again without stopping. Oh! And open at 5:30 am!! read more

The Buzz is one of those "MUST STOP" places for me, summer and winter in Alaska. The friendly faces and the excellent white chocolate mochas w/ tiramisu and whipped cream never disappoint. Traveling the typical long distances Alaskans do, The Buzz is only 42 miles into my nearly 500 mile round trip to go to Anchorage and ALWAYS starts the journey with a positive and rewarding coffee and friend "Buzz"! ** Tip** Be sure to pick up your FREE "Passport To Adventure On The Kenai" (or if you already have one, get a stamp here) here at the buzz! The passport allows you to collect stamps from 13 different communities on the Kenai and get coupons and also enter to win a drawing. But mostly it's just really fun to collect the stamps from each little community! This is truly, genuinely, the best coffee you will find for easily a hundred miles in any direction. Let's start with the outside: the buzz has an adorable outdoor seating area, with super inviting seating overlooking gorgeous wilderness and the water in the distance. They also have a drive through if you're in a hurry! Inside, they have a small but yummy looking pastry case. Behind the counter, you'll see that they carry every single flavor syrup you've ever thought of and probably twenty that you haven't (which makes for an *excellent* set of Italian soda possibilities!). We came in with a party of 6. Everyone ordered a different kind of drink, and each one was excellent! The staff was so friendly and helpful, and told us where to spot moose and eagles nearby and also told us about the Kenai passports and gave us each one. You just could not ask for more in a coffee shop. It was so good that we stopped again when traveling back north a few days later, and again, all 6 drinks were perfect, and different staff was working but all were very helpful and friendly. This is exactly what a coffee shop should be. They definitely earned 5 stars! read more

Awesome staff and great coffee! There is a drive thru option as well as a small inside and a small outdoor order window. They have tables and chairs on the covered patio, and a small amount of local items to buy inside (stickers from local artists, kites, a few books, etc). They have frozen options like the Bean Freeze, as well as smoothies. They also have great Italian sodas with a huge variety of flavor options. Then they have the standard coffees (Americanos, Mochas, Breve Lattes, etc) and they can pretty much handle any request for special preferences :) read more

Came up to Ninilchik for the summer and to be honest, I was super bummed that I'm 40 miles from the nearest Starbucks....UNTIL I TRIED THIS PLACE. hands down better than Starbucks...in every single way!! 1. WAY better pricing 2. Home town feel 3. The service is awesome!! The gentlemen and sweet girl who were working this morning were friendly, patient while we decided what we wanted & even gave us a cute little "Alaskan passport adventure" booklet thing. She even stamped it for us and gave me a sticker :) 4. The coffee is delicious. It's strong, sweet, and goes down smooth. Beyond happy with this cute little place. We will be back. To say this little piece of heaven coffee shop is amazing, is an understatement. I bring my littles there to experience bubbles blowing and fun games for kids, also the sweet customer service who make you feel so good saying hello everytime you drive up. What a gem!! I stopped in here for my morning latte while staying just across the road at Afishhunt campground. There are not many (if any) places to get a morning espresso drink in this area. My latte was DELICIOUS! The owner was very friendly and they also had snacks and breakfast muffins. It is cash or check only- so hit an ATM before you stop in. read more
