Bunker's brand KCMO
Melissa R.

Like a local version of Urban Outfitters but with a bit of an odd vibe. As I scoped the scene I spied a security guard with a side arm who was playing on his phone (he must be a ninja), employees on the floor minding their own business (unless customers were folding shirts), and all of them were bobbing their heads to LMFAO. Party Rock was in the house apparently. Good thing I was on a mission that didn't require assistance which was getting t-shirts!!! There were lots to choose from: KC w/heart, No Coast (love it), Royals, but the winner was one of Bunker's own prints, the KCMO. I scoped the scene once more while at the register and security guard was still on his phone (probably on a crime solving app), "I'm in Miami !@$&!" was playing and the employees were still bobbing their heads. Anywho...I was happy that they were having a sale which was $5 off when spending $25. I felt that was a discount for having to listen to 3 LMFAO songs. Tourist Tip: good place to get some KC tees when wandering Westport but don't expect the super friendly and helpful service that you have probably experienced at other places in Kansas City.

I'm a sucker for t-shirts, throw in locality and a wide variety and you've got yourself a new t-shirt model (except I'm paying you) to show off all the cool, unique KC-native shirts from this store. I've purchased three local, KC-native-and-proud-of-it-just-check-out-these-cool shirts here, so far the best selection in town for local shirts with this wide of variety, and I will continue to come here first to check out the local shirt selection. Transcending beyond the local t-shirts that this place offers, it also has a nice selection of shoes, boots, Rainbow sandals, causal shoes, name brand watches, affordable and trendy sunglasses, minuscule camping gear (backpacks, camel bags, insulated sleeping bags), large selection of button-down shirts and board shorts, unique and fun socks and casual and business casual pants. The music, as previously stated by fellow Yelpers, is more geared towards the newer generation and tends to be rap, dance and electronic, which I get down with and enjoy, but if it's not your kind of music then this could be a potential issue. There is no escaping the music, it's not blaring, but it's not subtle. The staff was friendly the numerous times I've visited this store. I will say that they aren't the type to keep offering their help to you, which I tend to prefer, so they will ask once, maybe twice, and won't ask again unless you tell them you need assistance and then they will happily help. This is a good place to check out if you're walking around Westport or a good way to pass the time if you're waiting to eat at any restaurant around this store (located right in heart of Westport). This store is a bit pricey, you can find it more affordable else where when it comes to certain items, but it isn't outrageously priced.

Chicken wings were good, but the music was very loud as it was difficult to hear the waitress.

The staff here are so helpful, nice and friendly. It turned out the gal helping us actually opened my home store in Studio City, CA. She gave them a buzz and they had a pair in a 24 that she put on hold until the end of the week for me. What I love about Madewell is you can donate a pair of jeans and receive $20 off, which is always nice. I also had my $25 off birthday month coupon so I went to scoop up my pair after returning to LA. Great store with quality staple pieces. Affordable non designer denim that is just as cute as your fav high end splurge favorites and always super comfy too! I am a wee bit concerned that we are lying to women about their waist size nowadays because I'm fairly certain in no lifetime do I actually wear a 24, I'm petite but athletic and they fit perfectly. Maybe less sweets is actually helping snatch this waistline of mine ;) In all honesty though, Madewell denim is a bit more forgiving than other brands due to their elasticity aspect. All in all, great store with nice pieces. I have their t-shirts, denim, dresses, overalls, neck scarves, socks, it's all great stuff!

Finally another person arrived and helped us run sizes to the dressing area. But only when we sought him out. He was not attentive and no greeting. But during checkout it became disturbing because the guy behind the counter was downright creepy. I've attached a picture because a description just doesn't cut it. We couldn't understand a thing he was saying he would not speak up he was mumbling and his mask was so thick and large and his hair was hanging down you could not see his face at all. I think the company can do better with Representatives or tell this guy he needs to lighten up on his look at work. What was really an issue was the fact that you could not understand him or see his face. I'm not trying to pick on anybody for how they choose to look but when you're representing a store and you're behind the counter like this with your eyes hiding behind your hair and your face hiding behind a giant mask it's just not a good look.

There was no confirmation of order, no follow up on the 8 attempts to reach them and it arrived 2-1/2 weeks later. The shoes I paid full price for (and pricey) do not fit and now they won't respond to the literally 8 times (email and phone) I have reached out about the return and the window of 5 days to refund them has expired. I am shocked that in this day and age if you are selling online that you consider the sale closed after it ships and simply ignore your customers. Now I am stuck with shoes I can never wear. BTW I never leave bad reviews. I am a person who goes out of my way to compliment places. But in this case I simply have given up. Avoid them -I don't care how awesome the things are they sell...find somewhere else to buy ! she may be sweet in person but a total flake online so she should shut down the online shop. My kind of place! I was able to get some awesome incense and trinkets. I attempted to squeeze myself into some tiny jeans on the sale rack! I got them on. lol I just couldn't walk. I think they were in the 0-2 range. If you are that size, they have 2 cool pair of jeans on the sale rack! I found a rad pair of overalls which I wound up purchasing and a rad, bucket hat too. The couple (I'm assuming couple but a man and woman) running the place were very nice. I thought all the prices were reasonable! My overalls were the highest item but I think they were around $50.
