Found a cute pair of jeans (Perfect…read moreVintage Straight Jean in Meaford Wash: Seamed Edition $138) but the 25 seemed baggy and I was told they'd stretch a bit after wearing them so I needed a 24. The staff here are so helpful, nice and friendly. It turned out the gal helping us actually opened my home store in Studio City, CA. She gave them a buzz and they had a pair in a 24 that she put on hold until the end of the week for me. What I love about Madewell is you can donate a pair of jeans and receive $20 off, which is always nice. I also had my $25 off birthday month coupon so I went to scoop up my pair after returning to LA. Great store with quality staple pieces. Affordable non designer denim that is just as cute as your fav high end splurge favorites and always super comfy too! I am a wee bit concerned that we are lying to women about their waist size nowadays because I'm fairly certain in no lifetime do I actually wear a 24, I'm petite but athletic and they fit perfectly. Maybe less sweets is actually helping snatch this waistline of mine ;) In all honesty though, Madewell denim is a bit more forgiving than other brands due to their elasticity aspect. All in all, great store with nice pieces. I have their t-shirts, denim, dresses, overalls, neck scarves, socks, it's all great stuff!

Finally another person arrived and helped us run sizes to the dressing area. But only when we sought him out. He was not attentive and no greeting. But during checkout it became disturbing because the guy behind the counter was downright creepy. I've attached a picture because a description just doesn't cut it. We couldn't understand a thing he was saying he would not speak up he was mumbling and his mask was so thick and large and his hair was hanging down you could not see his face at all. I think the company can do better with Representatives or tell this guy he needs to lighten up on his look at work. What was really an issue was the fact that you could not understand him or see his face. I'm not trying to pick on anybody for how they choose to look but when you're representing a store and you're behind the counter like this with your eyes hiding behind your hair and your face hiding behind a giant mask it's just not a good look.

I was able to get some awesome incense and trinkets. I attempted to squeeze myself into some tiny jeans on the sale rack! I got them on. lol I just couldn't walk. I think they were in the 0-2 range. If you are that size, they have 2 cool pair of jeans on the sale rack! I found a rad pair of overalls which I wound up purchasing and a rad, bucket hat too. The couple (I'm assuming couple but a man and woman) running the place were very nice. I thought all the prices were reasonable! My overalls were the highest item but I think they were around $50. My cool bucket hat was only $11. A box of incense cones were $1.25- $2.00. I'll definitely be back in!

If you want to remember the glory days of the 60's & 70's pop on in - they still exist here and challenging the current day status quo is more important now than ever before. You can get you a Deadhead sticker for your Cadillac or VW Van, the coolest hippy clothes for the next festival, incense by the bucket load, candles, art - mass produced and locally created, a room full of vinyl and every inch of the place is filled with something more cool than what you were just admiring. I picked up a few stickers and a zine as gifts. I'm not sure why it's been so long since I was last in here, but any trip to Westport going forward must include a stop in to recharge the soul and pick-up something to enjoy or to gift. The parking is non-existing since the street has been redone, causing area employees/residents to utilize customer street parking for the most part, since cars are parked there for hours on end. The man, before even saying hello looked over his eyeglasses and said I could get an $800 ticket for multiple parking violations for my parking actions. After leaving my shoes with him I asked him where parking was located for customers and he said "all over" and became visibly upset about. When I returned the next week, I felt he was still upset or maybe just has bad customer relation skills. Maybe he doesn't like people who wear black shoes...I don't know but I would not recommend anyone visit his store or if you do- wear white shoes.
