Cockers Farm
(1 review)
To the owner of Cockers Farm, My mother attended your farm…read moreout of pure accident, she was lost and couldn't find her way to collect a parcel. She came across the owner to ask for directions and was met by the rudest man i have ever come across. Before she even opened her mouth he said she was on a private road and could not park here, she tried to explain that she lost her way when there was a truck blocking the main road. He ignored that and continued to say that it was not his problem and she had to leave, she then asked for directions on how to get off the road to the correct place to collect her parcel he then began to shout and tell her to get off the private road to find the gate at the other end of the farm. She left in tears after being completely humiliated in front of a woman and another man. She then spent 15-20 minutes trying to get off the farm before finally seeking help from a nice lady in the horse stables. I cannot stress enough how upset/embarrassed this man made my mother feel. I find it appealing that a man who owns a business speaks to anyone like this, especially a woman who was simply asking for directions. I would never give any business to this man.

The Storage Team
I was impressed with this place. Looks professional and clean from the outside…read more It's located on the St Helens Linkway opposite the Micklehead and close to Rainhill, Widnes and M62 too. I would recommend if you are looking to store your belongings here. The staff are helpful and make the stay a pleasurable one. We also got given a surprise moving in gift in our room to welcome us in which was a nice touch. Along with storage rooms, they also offer lockups, workshops and offices to local businesses. As far as I am aware, this is the only self storage company in St Helens. Well done to all the staff!

However this year I had to reconsider as none of my friends were available to take my belongings this year. After comparing local storage unit prices I found GRG Storage and not only were their prices affordable they were also nearby and just five minutes away from my university accommodation. I decided to give them a try and leave my belongings for the summer. I have to say that I was impressed by the quality and affordable prices I was offered. Using my friends to store my stuff is good however now I can take the hassle off their shoulders just simply by using GRG Storage for summer storage solutions. It is an easy and reliable service offered at great competitive prices just minutes away from the University of Salford! I highly recommend this as my proffered storage provider for my fellow students at the University of Salford!

Safestore Self Storage
Big padlocked crates. There, that's my new attempt at a three word review. What do you think?…read moreShould I employ the tactic more? I jest! Of course I'm going to talk far more about Safestore, that dull essential one finds oneself turning to when downsizing or moving. But my story's far more interesting. In fact, I'll divulge my personal history, then I'll tell you all about the various crazy things you can use storage for. When my parents moved from a small village near Wigan to the Canary Islands, I'd arranged to move into an unfurnished apartment, so they sold some of their furniture and kept enough for me to set up home. But wait. What could they do? They'd already flown over there and sold the house, I was over there with them, and my apartment wasn't ready yet. Ye Gods, the horror! Calm down, they'd already used Safestore Warrington. Yes, situated not far from the UK's flagship Ikea store is a similarly blue and yellow behemoth which instead of offering you furniture will happily take yours and keep it safe and dry for as long as needs be. With a minimal rental period of just one week and no maximum, the possibilities are endless. It's ideal for when you're moving house and the prices are very reasonable, based on the amount of space your stuff requires. There are discounts for students, a week's free storage, pre-pay discounts, you name it. My stuff stayed there for around six or seven weeks before I finally got it into my apartment. But business is booming for Safestore since the recession. I saw a BBC Breakfast item once about how not only are people having to downsize, hence keeping larger items elsewhere, these giant crates are even being used for activities. Yes, a professional dancer had hired out her own crate and decorated it with mirrors and an electric heater so that she could practise without needing to rent a studio. It worked out far cheaper. Even small businesses have started using the larger crates as offices, and the lack of heat and electricity hasn't bothered them because they have light, they can plug kettles into generators and bring bottled water. How cool is that? So you can be boring and use these things for what they're intended for. Or you can be creative and rent one as an extremely cheap office. I'd do both if they were required. Safestore truly is safe, both in the secure sense and in the cool sense.

Not a hint of mould, damp or anything that you imagine could have happened after 3 years. We stored expensive things, piano, beds, art works, and personal stuff.. letters, clothes.. all kinds as we moved overseas for a temporary contract. During this time, if I needed to phone or email, people answered, returned my calls, were curtious, helpful and did not over push other products (insurance, or removal people). I cannot express how important it is that someone is there when they say they will be... we contracted a removal service and the storage people were very proffessional asking for documents to ensure they were releasing our goods to the right people. They photographed our unit on request each year, which just took away all my nerves. You pay not only for the storage but excellent service. I searched extensively before we choose this place, there were more modern facilitites fancy enclosed metal boxes, in other places (here some on the units have an air flow through the roof.. worked for us.. no damage at all... Security was better here (cameras, alarms), access to the site was more limited in other places, or people had had terrible experiences. This place is easy to find of the A57, easy to arrange a contract with (did this several times from overseas as we extended with no hassle). They are also very fair, I feel like we choose the right place, and it took some of the stress away of our big move. Cannot recommend them enough... they were reasonably priced, personable and easy to use...go see for yourself...
