The bed was wonderfully comfortable. Conversation with the several concierges was particularly enjoyable. The restaurants in Madison were truly incredible experiences. Each night we had the finest food. We were then off to our next adventure, to be cheerleaders for our son running in the Chicago marathon. What a delightful city you have, and Mansion Hill Inn is the premier bed-and-breakfast to choose. I wouldn't recommend any other location.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Heather who explained the property's amenities, as well as reviewing a substantial menu with food and beverage choices for the breakfast the next morning. We stayed in the spacious Heywood Hardy Suite with a comfortable king size bed, large ensuite bathroom, a separate sitting room and a deck. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotless. Heather and Tom serve breakfast to all of their guests at a specific time. Everything is fresh and made to order from your menu choices. Guests are seated at tables of four, and it was delightful getting to know there others staying at the inn. The property is beautiful and there is a field with a horse, sheep and other animals. Heather and Tom make you feel right at home. They're friendly, and love to talk, but they're not intrusive. We enjoyed our relaxing stay at the Red Speckled Inn. I highly recommend it.

The other guests were interesting. Most importantly, the hosts are people we would be honored to call friends - thoughtful, kind, reasonable, smart, anticipated guest needs, good to talk with, easily went about their own lives when we needed downtime. The rooms all have a rich history and are decorated in period décor. The bed was comfortable with a high quality, firm mattress and it was a relatively large room. One of the most memorable and enjoyable activities was sitting and relaxing on her pier in the lake and watching the sun set. Just spectacular. Peggy provided superb dinner recommendations as well. Breakfast was exceptional - hot coffee at 7am, and breakfast at 8. Overall, the Livingston exceeded expectations.

The icing on the cake, so to speak, were the animals that Karen has on the Farm.
