The food and drink prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere very nice. In all of my visits the staff have been very friendly and the only real problem for me is that when it is a bit busy you are forced into the less comfortable seating area. If you are in the area it is a nice place to visit for a meal or a drink.

Unlike most high street pubs the Penny farthing does not use its location to hike it`s prices up and keeps them not at the inexpensive but at a decent mid range. The penny farthing has a very good staff who will serve you with a smile as well as stopping for a chat even when the pub is very busy they always find the time to smile or chat, probably because unlike many of the pubs close by they actually employ enough staff! A real pub with a great atmosphere and it also has its own enclosed smoking area out the back with very nice and comfortable seating, tables and heating for those chilly Kirkcaldy nights.
