The owners have changed a couple of times as well so things may be a little different. The function suite here holds 150 people and is usually booked up well in advance for wedding receptions and birthday parties. It's reasonably priced for a function and my family and I have held four functions here. The buffet prices are good and the food served is of a high standard. There has been some recent refurbishment in the function suite with a new, beautifully crafted wooden bar being added and the decor receiving a lick of paint. The dancefloor is being upgraded as well. The function suite has an outside area for smokers or if it's a wedding reception photographs can be taken on the patio area. The car park seems adequate for the size of the place even though most people get dropped off and take a taxi home!

A variety of live bands play here on a Friday night when it's open until 1am. Some bands are very popular and have a following which packs the place out and others are average with the place being anything from dead to half full. The best things about the legion are the extremely cheap alcohol and the fact that it's a relatively safe place to have a night out. Like everything it's as good as you make it. If you're up for a laugh with a group of friends and are not fussy about meeting any good looking bachelors than this can be a great night out. It's £2 at the door to get in and it's open to non-members. The place is actually quite big inside with a very good sized dancefloor. It's available for bookings for private functions. There are two seperate halls and two bars.
