I found Brow Lounge on Yelp, and I was really excited because of the perfect reviews. I had a wonderful permanent makeup artist, but I have relocated and wanted someone closer. I have had permanent eyebrows for about 14 years now, and I love the way it looks. Only problem is my eyebrows always fade incredibly fast, so I need touch ups at about 6 months. I have always done a medium brown, warm color. It looks great, but I have never been able to retain any color for long periods of time. Maybe it's because I have oily skin, I use retinoids, and I enjoy swimming and the sun. When I met Christina, she was a sweetheart. I feel bad writing this review, but part of Yelp is honest feedback. She's professional, and has a clean nice studio in Folsom. Her prices seem to be fair. I explained to her that I have never been able to retain color, and I was hoping to change that. I thought maybe going a bit darker, and thicker would be a good option. So I do believe part of this is my fault. I did however specify to her that I definitely did not want to end up with very thick, dark brown eyebrows. That's basically what I got. They are very dark brown, which looks a bit odd on me. At first they were black, and a lot of people made comments so I knew it wasn't just me. There is also a spot where it looks like she made a mistake on the tail end. This has been pointed out by a few different people, so again it's not me being picky. It has now been over a year and I'm shocked because they are still very thick, and extremely dark. It hasn't seem to have faded at all. I texted her, and she offered to color camouflage them to a lighter shade of brown for close to 600 dollars. Wow! Another permanent makeup artist I spoke to said my best bet is to do a tattoo removal with saline. There's a lot of downtown with this option, and that won't work for me. So I'm currently stuck with these extremely dark eyebrows. I'm really disappointed in this whole situation. When you look at my face, my eyebrows are probably the first thing you notice. I don't feel like they enhance my features. Instead they look harsh on me. The shape is nice, however. They do seem to be very even. I decided 3 stars was fair because they are a good shape, but I definitely specified with her that I didn't want to end up with eyebrows that were extremely dark. It doesn't look natural. read more

Oh my gosh!! Christina is AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. I booked a microblading appointment for my cousin last week. She has very sparse eyebrows. when Christina was finished with my cousin she has the most beautiful eyebrows ever. And Christina is very quick. it took about 1.5 hours. I have had permanently tattooed eyebrows for over 20 years and have been going to the same lady for touchups. Though there was nothing wrong with her, I wanted to update my look and saw my friend's eyebrows which was the work of Christina. I immediately contacted her to book an appointment but had no idea what I wanted as far as microblading, ombre, 3D or 6D...all new to me. Just the word microblading scares me but since my really good friend went to her and was very happy with her brows and they looked great, I decided I would give it a try. So when I get to my appointment, she explained each brow style to me and what her recommendation was by looking at my eyebrows. She recommended a combo microblading/ombre to give me more hair strokes and the ombre to blend in my prior tattooed eyebrows which made perfect sense to me. First she numbs my brows with ointment, then mathematically draws my eyebrows with rulers to make sure they are even. I even joked about how it looked like I had the matrix on my face. She then gives you multiple choices of the color you want. She walks you through every step before she starts so you are not caught off guard and you know what to expect. She updated my look with a more defined arch but still made it look natural. I love how she is so detail oriented, precise, and anal about her work. I appreciate that she is a perfectionist and takes much pride in her work. She will not let you leave until you are satisfied. I love waking up every morning not having to fill in my brows, so much time saved and I love them!! As far as her office space, it is very clean, hygienic, beautifully decorated, and comfortable.
