Lack of direction. Couldn't hear the ear speakers, no clue what was going on. The headset smelled like armpit.

I highly recommend giving it a shot. It did get hot in the room and apparently it's even hotter in the summer so dress appropriately. It's a fun activity for all ages and our group of 6 fit comfortably in the room. Affordable family friendly fun in dt Visalia! Give it a go!

There were some hiccups but Clevr Escape has potential to be great…read more My large group booked two rooms as a work bonding activity. Reservations were easy to make online and when I had issues and questions, the owner was very kind on the phone. During our session, there was another group that walked in so spontaneous fun was possible too. However, our game master was preoccupied so communication was slow during the game. I personally did the "Lost Treasure of Atlantis" which was labeled as hard difficulty. While the room was doable, I was disappointed in a puzzle that was uncalibrated. This issue resulted in the entire group being stuck for several minutes despite solving the puzzle. The room was formatted in a linear manner so our group of 6 felt very cramped. However I was impressed with the technology incorporated in the latter half of our escape. The room was very dim and there weren't enough lamps for each member of our team. It also didn't help that one lamp died 10 minutes in. The screen and speakers were clear. However our game master took several minutes to get back to us. Hence if you need a hint, wave for help immediately because assistance won't be immediately. The celebratory signs were a bit weathered and smelly. Hopefully these signs can be updated to reflect the themes of the rooms and be laminated to prevent the styrofoam deterioration. The experience was worth the $30 price tag but some changes needed to be made for it to be great.

Pulled up expecting a little Disney magic. Got a museum exhibit from 1999. But the staff? Absolute…read moreangels. The VR is honestly the main problem. The graphics are not "retro charming." They're "did this render on a calculator." It's giving PS1. It's giving early Tomb Raider triangles. Pointy mountains. Flat water. Characters moving like they're buffering. I kept waiting for it to level up and it never did. It felt less like immersive VR and more like I paid to watch someone's unfinished game demo in a headset. And that's what makes it frustrating. The seats and the setup scream "this is about to be Soarin'." Like Disney California Adventure. Wind. Depth. Realism. That feeling where your stomach drops and you forget you're in a room. Instead I got "high tech seats" attached to low-tech visuals. Like putting a spoiler on a Prius and calling it a race car. The experience is clunky too. The motion doesn't match the visuals well enough to sell the illusion. So you're not transported. You're just... aware. Aware of the headset. Aware of the chair. Aware you spent real money to time travel backwards in graphics history. This should be breathtaking. It's barely "interesting." It's the kind of VR where you start roasting it mid-ride. Quietly. To yourself. Like, "oh wow, look at that polygon. She's thriving." If there was a "skip cutscene" button, I would've pressed it with my soul. Now here's the twist. The staff is the best part of the entire place. Super helpful. Genuinely kind. Patient. They felt bad that the VR wasn't hitting and you could tell they were trying to make it right with hospitality alone. That's rare. They're the reason I'm not giving this place a full villain edit. Restrooms were decently cleaned. Not sparkling, but respectable. Minus a couple moments that made me wash my hands like I was prepping for surgery. Bottom line. Come with zero expectations for the VR. Like subterranean expectations. If they ever upgrade the content, this could be amazing. Right now it's a tech tease with bargain-bin visuals. Staff deserves a raise for carrying the whole thing on their backs. It's giving... Avatar prices with Minecraft graphics. It's giving... Soarin' from Temu.

Not only did it keep the kids and tweens busy (7-14), it kept my almost 2 and 3 yo olds entertained thinking they were playing, and my big kids enjoyed themselves too (my husband and brothers). The owner, Junior, and his employee, Raymond, were amazing! Very friendly, helpful, had everything set up when I got there, did the cake cutting, took pics (will send to me in a few days), and cleaned everything up when we were done. When my 8yo wanted to try duck hunt they got the game and gun then pulled out those old "box tvs" to set it up...kids got a kick out of how huge it was lol. We will definitely be back for my son to hang out and play games...he's already said he wants to have his next party there. Thanks again Junior and Raymond!

Trust me you don't want anything to do with this place if you're a competitive gamer. Don't go here. Just stay at home and play online matches or find some people that actually know what they're talking about and have an old fashioned LAN party. The Tournaments are a joke, the food is a joke, the "sponsored" players are a joke... THE WHOLE PLACE IS A BAD JOKE! Now... if you want to have your clues birthday here... you know what... never mind. Don't have your child's birthday here. ITS A JOKE!
