I had researched Stratford…read moreTea Leaves online and chose it as a destination based on the proprietors's tea knowledge and tea selection. We arranged a tea tasting, which should be booked in advanced. Minimum of two people required for a tasting. Karen Hartwick, the proprietor and tea sommelier, arranged a great hour long mini course on six different teas. She explained the teas, just the right amount of background, and hints during the tasting. She let us lead with our impressions during the tasting, and then provided her input. It was such a great way to really enjoy the depths and nuances of the range of teas. We came to find out that Ms. Hartwick is called upon by many of the local food establishments to educate staff and provide input on tea pairings. We purchased tea from her which is reasonably priced for the quality. She has many tea accessories for purchase as well. Well worth the visit for everyone from a casual tea drinker to those with a more refined knowledge of tea.

Karen is filled with an amazing amount of knowledge and has many life lessons and experiences to share with her guests. The B&B also has a tea shop in it. The tea shop is just remarkable. Karen knows her tea, that's for sure. She's traveled throughout Asia multiple times visiting tea farms including some that have been in families for over 5,000 years. Karen is a leading expert on tea, and boy will you be amazed by her amount of knowledge. I live in California -where tea is becoming more "hip" every day- even I was surprised and amazed by her tea shop. Enough about Karen and the tea, the B&B is delightful. The rooms are nice, not the nicest I've stayed at, but are very good considering the house was built in the 1800s. The B&B has charm to it and is very well decorated and very clean. The breakfast part of the B&B makes up for everything the bed part slightly lacks. The breakfast is just amazing. Be it the home made granola and cake for starters, or the main entrees such as the beautifully cooked eggs with delicious whole grain bagels and the uniquely original quiche like dish, you will NOT be disappointed. The food is full of flavor, and with every bite has the taste of healthy. Of course, breakfast would not be complete without tea. Good luck on picking your tea, you have over 150 options and about that amount of different tea pots. Without any hesitation, I sincerely suggest staying here and enjoying some tea.

They also have cheaper items downstairs. The best aspect of this place? Their KITTIES. They have two (used to have more than 2 but I only saw two last time) that lay amongst the china and goods. Often they are sleeping and very receptive to petting, as in they do not wake up and you can pet them forever! The kitties of Watson's are memorials of my childhood. Love it there!

I was taking a stroll through the neighbourhood with my family on one of our evening walks and…read morealong the path, we discovered a new restaurant which was Crepes and Coffee. It's situated along the busy Paisley & Imperial intersection underneath an apartment complex. I knew I had to return here in the afternoon for lunch. The inspiration behind this restaurant draws from a couple's dining experience in Europe. Here's my rundown: Food: We started off with the Coffee for Two, which came on a serving platter with a French press, 2 wafers, and 2 shots of Perrier water. The coffee was rich and it made for a unique experience with the French press. Florence - We then had one of their savoury crepes called the Florence. You had the option of getting this as a crepe or a waffle and it came drizzled with a light cream sauce, seasoned with salt, pepper & oregano. The filling had melted mozzarella and prosciutto and it was finished with field greens, cherry tomatoes, and a balsamic glaze. Overall, this was a pretty light dish! The crepe itself was slightly sweet and had a nice texture to it. Annecy - We finished with a Belgian waffle with ice cream. This came with French vanilla ice cream, strawberries, sliced bananas, nutella drizzle, and whipped cream. The presentation was beautiful and the dessert tasted very good and it wasn't too sweet. I would suggest sharing this with people as it's a little too much for one person to devour. Atmosphere: The overall vibe of the restaurant is nice. The decor is quite modern and there's a blackboard that showcases famous landmarks and places in Europe, which is the inspiration behind this restaurant. There's patio seating, high chair seating, and normal seating. There's a section that features one low-rise table and three chairs that's perfect for catching up with friends. All in all, I would say that this restaurant gives up vibes that make you feel relaxed and at home, which is what you should always feel at places like this one. Service: Service was good. The barista was really knowledgeable in the food items and recommended us all the things we ordered. The food didn't take long to come out and the barista kept checking up on us to see how we the food was and how are dining experience was. Price: The coffee for two was $7.00, savoury crepe was $12.75, and the waffle was $13.75 (it's an additional one dollar to get the waffle instead of the crepe). The price isn't too bad, especially given the great service. Verdict: Whether you're doing a stroll in the neighbourhood, catching up with friends, or just plain hungry, Crepes & Coffee is your one stop shop. They've been in business for 4 weeks now and our in the midst of experimenting with food options (they recently just introduced the savoury crepes). The west end of Guelph isn't quite known for its food or desserts so this place was definitely a nice addition to a area that's lacking desserts like crepes. Check this place out before it gets busy. One thing that you must bring is your credit or debit card as Crepes & Coffee makes an effort to try to reduce the amount of physical cash used and also went paperless. I'm giving this a 4.5 stars out of 5 mainly because of the great service, the atmosphere inside the restaurant, and the taste of the food. My two complaints are that they don't open earlier than 10am and their savoury crepe options are limited. Nevetheless, it's great to see the West End of Guelph growing when popping restaurants like this one.
