I really like the club. Upstairs is cheese which, I agree isnt so good, but downstairs is rnb, and upstairs can sometimes be a bit of drum and bass. The music can sometimes be predictable, but the drinks are good value. You can get a pitcher for £10 or double vodka and 'energy' for £1.50. I went here this past Monday night with two of my friends. There was no one in the queue, we were the only party waiting to get in at the moment and it was around 11pm. My two friends were ahead of me so I wasn't aware of this, but they were let in for free while I was charged £5 for entry even though we were from the same party. Not sure if it's cause I'm Asian and my other friends are white and the dudes were being racist or something but definitely won't be going back here because that's total bullshit. read more

okay. I have marked low which is probably shocking but you can only review places by your own personnel experience and taste. The Bridge is where we all used to go in year one of uni when there was nothing on at Brookes. As a student you come to uni expecting cheap nights and cheap drinks. The Bridge is not cheap. Yes it is classier than Park End. Probably cleaner too. But its slightly more expensive. and this is not even my main problem... ITS FULL OF RA-RA'S. Okay so there will be a few of you who do not know what a ra ra is. But most oxford brookes students will. Indeed a band at Brookes Battle of the bands competition sang a song about ra-ra's and i swear i saw girls unwrapping the pashmina's from their necks as they sung! But for those who don't.... I was once in The Bridge and i asked a girl who i had just met where she was from. She said London. Nothing weird about that. Apart from she said it in a very strong Bristol accent. She proceeded to explain that she was born in Bristol, grew up in Bristol...but studied in London for a year. Right. So, next the typical ra ra's clothes. They usually have really messy hair. But, it took them ages to do. You see each strand of that messy hair was strategically placed so that the ra ra looks fashionably ''messy'. Moving down we have the pashmina tied around the neck like a scarf, and left on even in the club. It makes them look classy you see. The next distinguishing factor is that they could talk as rough as nails but when it comes to the word yes they drawl ... 'yaaaaaar'. How very london. :) So this is why i hate the bridge. It attracts fakes. It attracts ra ra's. It attracts people who look down on everyone even those - especially those - who are better looking or dare to have better clothes. it is snotty and snobby and im going to say it again, fake. But there is good music and a nice clean club. so here is your choice for a monday nite in oxford. The Bridge: Snotty, snobby, expensive, a long que and pompous doormen. But good music. ParkEnd: Bit grubby, a few chavs, sleazy barmen and overzealous doormen. 3 rooms of good different music. Take your pick :) read more

The Bridge is in my opinion Oxfords best nightclub. A double story building boasting two dance floors and various bars including a VIP area. Drinks are expensive and you will have to queue on most nights. Every night there is a different theme which is always a laugh! If you are up for a good night in "student-ey" Oxford and prepared for a wait and damaged wallet don't look past the Bridge. read more

This place gets ramed, not sure why. I don't really like the place it plays hip hop and RnB. If you are looking for a night out where you get lots of stinking men trying to grind against you then this is the place YUCK! read more

Hmm, The Bridge what can I say?. I always feel out of place, because I don't look/dance like the rest of the people in there! When I go out I just want to have fun and not really take myself very seriously, so I don't really fit in here. I do like R&B but find the atmosphere in The Bridge icy. I think it's way over-priced and at weekends you'll be queueing for ages to get in. If I ever do go here (which isn't very often) I usually end up going home early. That's not to say it's a bad nigh club- it's just not for me! Think it mainly attracts younger people who are really into R&B music. read more

Always have my best nights out in Oxford here! Always busy..the crowd is generally quite good. Music is normally good, depends on the night. Drinks are quite expensive. Bouncers can be a bit annoying at times when there is large crowds! Well worth it! read more

The Bridge has a fond place in most students' hearts, and as far as Oxford clubs go, it does the job. It's seen as a relatively cool place to go, and special nights usually see the queue snaking up the street. It's definitely worth arriving early - on really popular nights, such as the start/end of university terms, the queue can go over the bridge over the canal, so it's worth getting there by about 9.30. I'm not quite sure why it takes so long to get in; even if you get there before the one-in, one-out policy, the bouncers seem to have a limit of who can go in. If the queue does get horribly out of hand, they have an overflow bar, which serves as a sort of waiting room for the club itself. This has a bar, but also very loud music and few places to sit, so it's not the greatest place to wait, but definitely preferably to queuing in the cold outside. You get given a ticket and have to wait for it to be displayed on a TV screen, meaning you can enter the main club. Bizarrely, you often end up separated from friends, but the numbers tick through quite quickly, so it's not too bad. Inside the club, there are two floors, with the main dancefloor on the top and bars on both. The drinks are far from cheap, and you can sometimes end up with pitchers rather than glasses, so make sure you order clearly. There are some sofas to chill on, but these are always full on the popular nights, and it can be a real squeeze trying to get to the bar or past the bar to the toilets. The toilets are well maintained and the queues are usually fine. As for music, there's a good selection of cheese and quite a lot of R&B. The Oxford 'Rock Oxford' night is similar music, and not rock music, as you might think from the name. There's a cloakroom with a strangely friendly bouncer, who tells women to watch out for their handbags and to have a good night. All in all, the Bridge is a good night out with friends, but get there early to avoid the queues! read more
