They allow you to pick a time from a calendar, which was very convenient. Our inspector was on time, nice clean company truck, clean and easy to recognize uniform, and he did a very thorough job. Todd pointed things out to us while onsite, and documented everything with photos and videos. These guys worked their butts off from the minute they arrived until it was time to go home. I never saw them take a extended break and never heard them complain once about anything even though it was hot sweaty weather all 3 continuous days. I expected them at 8 AM, but they even arrived at 7:45 and started. Ask for this Crew as they were responsible for the success of the project. We had our Crawl Space encapsulated exactly as planned, on-time, and for the exact amount that we had contracted for. The crew showed -up right on time and went directly to crawl space and had removed all existing insulation from joists and cleaned crawl space within the first few hours. A truck and trailer arrived at the completion of that effort and removed all the debris. During this initial hour, the Salesman Chris, and Nolan, the Field Supervisor arrived to see how things were going and to touch base with the crew and to see if I had any concerns or questions. All aspects of the installation went smoothly as planned. The existing crawl space sand was leveled, drainage matting was installed and covered with 20 mil vapor barrier as were the walls and support columns with tape completing the vapor-proof seal. Two Aprilaire Dehumidifiers with condensate pumps completed the system. The Electrical aspects to power the dehumidifiers and condensate pumps were installed by a subcontractor they use who was a very personable gentleman named Sam who was great and conscientious about doing a good job.

My realtor and I will NEVER be doing business with them again and sending them to the BBB. The report we received showed pictures of random nails left on our roof, or a piece of outside siding messed up from a weed whacker (because it is a newer and nice home), so there was not much wrong with it. However, they FAILED to mention the mice droppings in the attic, the gaping roof entry access points that critters can get in to, the burrowed holes in the closets (6 of them actually, in 3 separate closets), the scratches at the bottom of some baseboards, and the burrowed holes in the backyard next to our cemented back patio! We moved from out of state so I trusted them to do things right! We got the keys and within 1 hr I was texting my real estate agent telling him we have mice. We immediately emailed Safe House to tell them about our findings and dissatisfaction, and sent them tons of photos as evidence, but they stated "they don't look for these things....." holes in a closet?!?! They stated "we don't go that deep in the attic." ...listen up folks, they said they don't go that far/deep in our attic, admitting they don't even check out the entire house!!! So we emailed tons of more pictures as evidence and they decided to ignore us. We had to call to get the manager on the phone, to which he asked for more photos, just to ignore us again. I am disgusted by their lack of professionalism, level of care, and lack of duties while on the job. My real estate agent told them he would cease business with them, and they didn't care. They still just ignored us and him. STAY AWAY from this company. Don't waste your $ on these guys who don't even do their job and INSPECT your home.

Our RE agent set this inspection up as we were on the west coast, in December…read more Once the report came to us, we negotiated the purchase based on the deficiencies noted. We are a military family, and now work for the Veterans Administration. This is not an unusual way to inspect or purchase a home for the military. Fast forward into 2024, and as we were having professionals come in, we were made aware of other deficiencies, that we were never made aware of. But the biggest problem was when we had nice weather and tried to open the row of windows along the back of the house. The rotten wood at the bottom of the casemate windows is shocking. Several are not even operational. There was no furniture in the home to block access to these windows. We have tried and tried to reach this company to find out why the inspector did not attempt to open, as per his own notes. Sent emails with pictures, and left messages. They will not respond. Which is very unprofessional. I have given them many opportunities to talk to us before leaving this review. Don't use this company. You will be very sorry, and will be wasting your money. We've shared these problems and more with our agent as well.

After closing on the house in January and moving in last month, we've come to find many items that he missed on his inspection. The downstairs toilet was loose and not level, leading to wax ring failure which I had to fix. The refrigerator was full of mold(he checked all appliances) which I had to get replaced. He missed the burned outlet behind the fridge. He went up into the attic but missed leaks in the roof which were found by a reputable roofing company during their estimate. I'm disappointed in how much was missed considering how highly rated this company is.

It was reasonable and honestly other mainstream companies would've charged more for poor quality work so I'm glad I went with encompass. My main concern was sweating vents in loft that was flipped from an attic, and Jayson did infrared imaging and saw that there was less insulation around it, which was having the heat hit all the cold air coming out causing sweating . Encompass provided me an online binder to see all of the notes. Once again, this was a great price with great quality and the electronic binder.
