If you want to do business with a store and salesperson that does not follow through on its promises then The Brick in Canmore is the store for you! Very unprofessional customer service, they do not have the courtesy to contact the customer to advise that the delivery date provided will not be met. So a person waits at home for a delivery that does not happen. And when it finally does occur at a later reschedule date the delivery is not completed and promised. I would not recommend you deal with The Brick in Canmore if you want professional service. I would recommend Home Hardware in Canmore for appliances, they provide professional and helpful service and follow through on their commitments. read more

NO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, BUY THE WARRANTY!!! I purchased a washer/dryer set from The Brick 2 years ago; at the time I was told they didn't do installations (this was a lie, management got involved and the installation was finally resolved, I wrote a review back then, as well, over how awful the sale process was). The same sales guy sold me the King and State Warranty; it was pitched as a no worries, replacement if they can't fix it, get it for the security of this big purchase, type of warranty. So we bought the warranty. The Brick website calls it their 'Famous Warranty' ... Infamous is perhaps a better word. Now, 2 years later, our dryer stopped working - I submitted a claim to King and State...and here is where the fun begins again. King and State doesn't return any phone calls, doesn't return any emails The service technician broke one of my floor tiles, looked at my dryer for 2 seconds and said it would 3 to 4 weeks to fix (I never heard from him again) After about a month of waiting and hearing nothing, I finally got a King and State representative on the phone and explained what had happened, they asked me to send a picture of my broken tile and said they would get this resolved quickly 2 weeks later - after not hearing anything - I followed up with more calls I was told they couldn't repair the unit and was offered a 'Pro-rated' replacement value of my dryer - Amount Offered $804, amount of comparable dryer today $1299 I refused this offer and was told I would receive a call within 24 hours to discuss more (that was 2 weeks ago) I have called the store and King and State and simply been told, you are completely out of luck. The Brick store say I have to deal with King and State, while King and State says the store won't authorize any other resolution. Now after multiple phone calls, emails, and an immense amount of frustration - I have a broken floor tile, and a broken dryer...and very few options. King and State is listed as a company in the Caribbean and The Brick doesn't even have a phone number on their website. I'm completely at a loss - NEVER SHOP AT THE BRICK, NEVER BUY A KING AND STATE WARRANTY!!!!! read more

Will not use again or recommend. After purchasing a washer/dryer set and it was delivered, we noticed that it was dented by the moving company. The whole interaction was a bit shady. They put the washer and dryer in my small laundry room, but placing the dented side in the very far corner, out of view. As they were rushing out the door they got me to sign off, they made it seem like I was signing that they did not do damage to my house, and not the actual washer/dryer. And then said if there was any issues with the set to call the brick within 48 hours. Being my husband was out of town for the weekend, we noticed it around 50 hours after. So I went down to the brick as soon as it was opened the following day, with photos asking for someone to call me. No one returned my call, this is where my frustrations are. If you have someone with an issue with something they just purchased, please have the respect of following up. We even purchased the extra warranty and everything. I gave them 10 days to call me back and nothing so when I called them back, they pretty much said they weren't going to do much, but a very small store credit. The thing is, we are so unhappy we probably won't even use it. As a local we will not shop here again. We were planning on buying a new stove, fridge, dish washer and range from them. But since they said 'oh it's just cosmetic, we wouldn't have replaced it, just gave you a bigger credit' is a bit frustrating. It makes me think, if this is the mentality when people are spending a lot of money, I'll spend my money elsewhere. Will not shop her again, driving to Calgary is worth it. Bad customer service Update: after seeing this review they did reach out and replace our dryer, but with their floor model as it has been discontinued for new ones of the same make and model. We ended up having to take off the stacking kit, and when we did, it ended up snapping and by having to disassemble them we scratched our washer, our fault, but still frustrating as we waited to stack them when I first went in with photos but when it took over 3 weeks to get anything resolved, this all could have been avoided. But when we have to pay another $60 for a new stacking kit, again, we still are frustrated with them for not considering throwing this in as we purchased it with the bundle as well as an extensive warranty. Also, the replacement they sent was also dented. So still would not recommend. They asked me to reconsider removing this review once I received the new dryer and was satisfied, and since we are not, I won't be changing the rating or review. Shop elsewhere. I had to take the afternoon off to be here for the return to only waste out time with another damaged good and now we are out even more having to buy a new staking kit. Don't deal with the store manager because you will get nowhere. I ordered a king size bedroom set in November. I was told that it would not be certain that it would be delivered. I understood, the first problem was that I had to call on the Wednesday at 4:30 to find out it would not be delivered. I was told he had a lot going on and would call me to let me know but the store closes at 5 with no delivery. We rescheduled for the following week and then I called back to make it a week later to make sure they receive my furniture that day because I'm running an Airbnb and I'm losing revenue. Two weeks go by I'm excited but still not phone call. 4:30 on Wednesday I call to see if I'm getting my furniture. Then I'm told the furniture never made it on the truck. Now I'm not happy, I drive to Canmore for no reason, loosing revenue again and I get told that the manager is on holiday. I'm pissed and tell gentlemen on the phone to get the manager to call me first thing Monday morning. Of course, no phone call returned. Wait until Tuesday night, still nothing. I get my business partner to call in Wednesday because I'm so done dealing with the brick. My business partner tells me it will get delivered on Thursday and I will get a call for delivery between 9-11. I'm waiting. 11 comes around and I decided to in the store to talk to the manager to let home know that I'm sick of him not returning ANY phone calls, not trying to compensate me, do anything at all and still no phone call from delivery NOTHING just a jerk working the desk. He tells me again he was on holiday and knew nothing again, but he's been back to work for 3 days now. I'm frustrated and decide to leave the store as he's telling me over and over to have a great day to be a jerk and as I turned around, he was giving me the thumbs up. Seriously what kind of management position deals with issues that way. I looked at him and told him to cancel my order because I'm done dealing with his bull shit. As I'm walking out the store, he gets loud and says, I'm still going to charge you with the delivery! wow. Best customer service ever. Get home try to talk to the brick chat person, send an email thought their system saying I would get a reply in 2 business days. Nothing after 4 business days, no surprise there. Try to talk to a chat person again. Only thing I can do is deal with the store manages because he still has not refunded me. Left a message with head office. We will see if they call back. I'm so unimpressed. I've spent thousands of dollars at the brink but never had to deal with this kind of customer service. Word of advice do not go to this store. Try to bypass them if you use the brick online. The store manager is a rude and a childish person. The review that was posted last week from a gentleman explains exactly what the store manager is like. I want my refund and I'm not paying for a delivery that was never delivered. Will never buy anything from the brick in Canmore again. The manager is extremely rude and very unhelpful. Never made eye contact, never apologized. Was completely indifferent, to our situation. Rolled his eyes and huffed about. Three times in the last two weeks they said they would call me back in one minute to the ware about's of my order, Never called once. While we were waiting to speak to him he was even rude to the customer he was on the phone with. He obviously does not care about customer service or his job. I echo Bonnie's previous review and comments about Cory the Sale Manager at the Canmore Brick being RUDE and DISMISSIVE. I signed up for a Brick credit card with my mattress purchase and went into the store this past Saturday to pay off my balance. I was greet by the lovely Joanie who is new to the Brick (and whom sold us our bed) and I advised her the reason for my visit. As Joanie is new to the job she went into the back office to ask for the assistance of Cory with my payment. Cory came out and said 'I don't know, I've never taken a payment before?' Keeping in mind Cory has worked at this store for AT LEAST 2 years (having recognized him from when we purchased a sofa 2.5 years previous). Cory then proceeded to tell me 'you know you can pay this online right?' I informed Cory that I already tried to make a payment online and I was unsuccessful so that's why I was there at the store. Joanie was trying her hardest to accommodate me and asked Cory if she could make a phone call to the manager to walk her through the payment process and Cory quickly dismissed Joanie and said 'NO, absolutely not, he is on a day off, you'll have to figure it out'. He again re-irrerated that I should try again to make a payment online. After some troubleshooting by Joanie, she found a 'cheat sheet' of instructions on taking a Brick Visa payment and attempted to move forward and Cory proceed to walk away and told her to 'just follow the instructions'. For someone who has worked at the Brick for well over 2 years, you would think he would take some initiative to learn to take a payment or at the very least, stay and offer his co-worker some support (who is only 2 weeks into a new job) but no, he just walked away. Unfortunately, Joanie got 'locked out' of the site she was attempting to sign into (after too many attempts at signing in) and I was told she couldn't take my payment today. As I was leaving the store, Cory approached me and INSISTED that I take my payment to my bank on Monday because 'it's a very SIMPLE process for you to go to your bank with this statement and Brick card and make my payment there, it's VERY easy'. I left the store and mulled over my experience in it's totality. I was VERY put off that Cory had talked down to me, was extremely dismissive, insincere, and made me feel like I was a HUGE inconvenience to him. On Monday morning I went back into the Brick and advised Cory I was back to make my payment. Cory said 'Oh, didn't I see you last week and had told you that you can just make your payment at the bank?' I said yes, you did tell me that but I purchases my bed at the store, signed up for the Brick card at the store, and was told that I could make my payments AT THE STORE so that is what I was there to do. I also said I wouldn't be coming back for a third time for this purpose and informed Cory that I didn't appreciate him dismissing me and my requests and advised I would not be going to the bank and that that I was there to make a payment. I also advised Cory that I thought it was odd that he didn't know how to take a payment after being in a job at the Brick for well over 2 years. Cory again insisted 'it would be much easier if you go to you bank and make the payment' This infuriated me so I informed Cory' yes, it would be easier...EASIER for Cory (not me) because by me going to the bank would mean he wouldn't have to do some actual work and troubleshooting to learn a job he has been in for over 2 years. I also feel the need to add there is absolutely no one it the store at this time so it wasn't as tho he had customers waiting to be helped or demanding his attention. After I made it clear I wasn't taking my payment to the bank, Cory said 'Well (insert large sigh from Cory), Do you have some time because this is going to take a while because I have to call my manger'. Cory proceeded to call his manager who directed him to the 'cheat sheet' of instructions on taking payments. Cory's manager had to walk him through the steps over the phone and in the end he unwillingly took my payment. He was still on the phone will his manager when he pushed my receipt at me and said 'there, it done'. That is how Cory ended my transaction. NO thank you, NO I'm sorry for my behaviour, NO thank for your business with us! Absolutely terrible customer service from the manager. Ordered a tv and was told it would be there for pick up in a week, it wasn't. Told it would be there the following week. Got no phone call that it was in so I made a call to them. The manager was suppose to call back with in a few minutes and just never called. I went to the store shortly before closing and was finally told in person that the tv once again had not been put on the delivery truck. No apology from the manager and he was rude about the whole thing. He did offer for me to drive to Calgary to their warehouse and pick the tv up myself because they were too incompetent to arrange for the tv to be put on the truck them selves. The manager was terrible and wouldn't even look me in the eyes through the whole process. Use any other furniture store in Canmore before you even think of stepping foot into this store. We shall not be ordering or buying from the Brick at this outlet in Canmore again! My husband and I have been living in the Bow Valley for over 30 years and have NEVER had such poor and rude service as was displayed to us on New Years Eve morning of 2018. On their website it stated that they were open on December 31 ,2018 at 9AM , closing at 4PM. Fine, so we drive an hour into Canmore to be there for their 9AM opening. When we arrived at their store, there was a sign posted on the door stating the hours were from 10AM to 4PM for that day. So we had to waste an hour for them to open. When they opened at 10, we were right there to pick up our purchase that we had ordered from them. When my husband questioned them on the store opening hours on their web page (and while bringing it up as proof on his phone to show this to him,) all the salesman ( who seemed clearly offended that this was brought to his attention and clearly upset !) said was " our hours are 10-4 ....and that is the ONLY response he got from this man "Cory" ( salesman, or manager ) the whole time we were signing the sale papers . He was out and out RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL !! He did not speak other than that throughout the whole time we were there and briskly brushed past us as we were waiting in the store . No apologies to the time difference that was displayed on the web and on the store door. NOTHING! He then went out and got the 65" TV we had ordered, was pushing it out the door on the ground , no dolly etc...asked us curtly if we wanted help loading it. But by that time we were so shocked at his attitude that we didn't want anything more to do with him! We loaded it ourselves . I shall be forwarding this to the Brick Head Office and hopefully reprimanding will be in order for this sales person .No customer deserves to be treated rudely and to this extent ! read more
