If I could give zero stars I would! Nobody likes to be taken advantage of, and I feel scammed by the Brick! Could anybody advise me who to contact regarding a refund on a insurance purchased through the Brick ? I bought a sofa bed and at the time of purchase it was clearly stated that if I did not use the insurance over the course of the three-year term, I would be refunded for $114.99. There were no other conditions explained. I returned to the Brick and now I'm told that I have to spend at least $400 in order to have that amount deducted. I spoke to Tara in the customer experience team and she just sent me back to the manager . Nobody will stand by what the other salesman had told me. Had he been upfront with me I would not have purchased that insurance. The only reason why I did so was that I knew I would be refunded after 3 years. If $114.99 affects the Brick's bottom line so much that they need to scam a senior for it...I have news for them. In today's economy,$114.99 means more to me. They have lost my business! read more

nothing seems to last more than 6-8 months and even if you paid for more warranty they can void it if they claim your warranty was over 14 days before you called. so they can tell that you should have told them 14 years before and it's a lot of damage even if it's barely started. worst company ever read more

I'm posting this to see if someone from The Brick will respond, but also for awareness to people across Canada as I am almost certain this will change nothing. Boxing Day 2021 we bought a new couch with the extended 5-year warranty. We actually spent, between that day, and through 2022, around $15,000 in The Brick for new appliances/furniture. Fast forward to November 2022. We move house and as the couch is unwrapped by our friend we notice a cut on the middle seat. The wife is devastated, but I say well, we don't know who did it (no-one owned up at the time), but the Bricks warranty will cover this as a 1-time accident as per their warranty info (see below). I submit a claim and a person from Belaty Ltd. (I assume this is them, apologies if not) comes out, as this is who does warranty repairs for The Brick in Barrie (our nearest store now). He says it will be fixed after Christmas. The Brick then call us to say this is abuse and that it is not covered. Cue back and forth calls and emails to the Brick and Belaty to understand how the $350 warranty doesn't cover an accident - Belaty blaming the Brick who made the decision and the Brick blaming Belaty who told them it was abuse/misuse (which they deny). The manager of that department at the Brick says there's nothing she can do, but I should call the store (Scarborough) I ordered it from. I do just that and they say there's nothing they can do either as the decision rests with the Brick in Barrie. I'm not surprised I get the runaround from this company - google them and you will find great examples, but we are disgusted in them as they wouldnt honour the warranty, even after I explained our friend had done it by accident (he later confessed it was probably him as he was using a boxcutter to remove the shrinkwrap), they still deem it abuse. Yes I want it fixing under warranty, and if not I want a refund on their obvious crock of crap warranty so I can use this to try and find someone to repair it. Side note - Belaty will NOT give me a quote to fix it as 'they only fix under warranty' so the ONLY local furniture guys the Brick use will not fix our couch, even if we pay for it, and we are left trying to find someone who can fix it and ensure they can match the colour from the supplier to the Brick. This has eaten hours of my life away and once again reconfirms my belief that big box stores are terrible and the people that work there love that little bit of power they have to say no to good honest people who had an accident in their home but apparently have abused their couch! The post sales customer service is absolutely atrocious. Really anything that you don't get in writing signed by a manager you might as well assume you didn't hear it. The only retailer I have ever dealt with that says after the fact you can only return something if you have opened it. The run around and lack of available information once an issue or concern is raised is liking dealing with an insurances company that wants' to deny your request as a default until you make enough noise. 4 hours after receiving a product and reporting an issue I was directed to a manufacture to deal with it rather then the store I purchased it at, and the store whose truck it was delivered on was trying to wash there hands of it. Upon contacting said vendor I was told I never should have been directed to them. The conclusion being I have still dealing with an item I don't want worth hundreds of dollars and the store is doing the bare minimum to assist. read more

We went into The Brick in Barrie today. We were looking for a side table for the living room. We came out with a side table a wall unit and a TV. Sonia was our sales representative. She was very helpful without being pushy. We would highly recommend her. I would give the store a higher rating but I hate waiting for things and the one unit won't arrive till November. It was quite refreshing to see a young woman in a sales position in a store. Nice change of pace. Look for Sonia when you are in the Brick in Barrie. read more

Worst customer service I have ever seen. Sales people assure your delivery would not be as long as stated on expected delivery noted on invoice. they do not contact customer with revised dates. Have to contact them myself several times And still they have no answer regarding delivery. Assistant manager states some people have been waiting for over a year for delivery. If they know people have waited over a year, why are they Telling people only two months tentative delivery. very dishonest people. I will never shop here again read more

Worst customer service I have ever experience. I order a fridge and stove back in July was told I would have the items in 3 weeks. We are now 14 weeks later and still nothing. We have followed up multiple times and the dates keep getting changed. The company itself had never reach out to us, we also have to reach out to them for any updates. The fridge was ready at 8 weeks (5 weeks after originally told) and it came with a big dent in it. We sent it back, After arguing with them they finally gave us a $100 off the fridge. (they said dent was not there fault so they couldn't do anything.) Hopwfully the new date doesn't pass again and if it does it would be nice for the sales associate to reach out. Then again they already received over $5000 what do they care. Will never shop here again. They clearly lie and don't care about falling up with anything. read more
