One thing I've learned about sending a little one to school is: It works best if you have a place with enough teachers who truly care about your child, and who also understand that parents (as well as kids) need some flexibility and understanding at this age... And that's what they've been with us - understanding and flexible - through the crazy local weather spells, child sicknesses... all of it. They truly embrace the concept that no two kids are the same, so you really can't force kids into some cookie-cutter template (e.g. expecting all kids to develop at the same rate, forcing them all to nap every day, etc.). I have been especially impressed with the owner, Kirsten, and the Director, Courtney - Always nice, always friendly, obviously work very hard and care about each and every student they have, etc. And this care and consideration is not only shown to my kid, but also to me, which is a breath of fresh air at an age when things can be so stressful. Would also like to add that their prices are the most reasonable you'll find and the gifts they have kids make and bring home for their parents during the holidays are absolutely delightful... They were recommended by Marriott's Timber Lodge and I found their website informative and reached out to Dee the owner. Dee got back to me with any questions I had and I made a reservation. We had 2 nannies because of the number of children we had (7). Lauren and Destinee were great. They came to the lodge, took the kids for ice cream, ordered them pizza, played hide and seek, and even painted the girls' nails a fun July fourth theme. My kids loved them and asked if we could use them again. Billing was reasonable and so easy. We gave them a credit card which they charged and sent an invoice/receipt the next morning. We had three different nannies and they were all wonderful. We had Allison and Natalie two days in a row and I especially enjoyed working with them. Very friendly ladies and were very involved with the children each time I saw them. The babies in their care were involved in the wedding ceremony so the two nannies were on site to get them nestled in the wagon and then took them back up to the residence once their role in the wedding was over. They were great sports about being down at the ceremony and seemed very willing to do whatever was asked of them to ensure everything went as smoothly as possible. During the planning process, there was some confusion on their end with personnel but Joanna picked up on it and reached out personally to ensure our needs were understood and that we were billed appropriately.

Our son was in Harmony's full-time care for several months. During that time, there were a few incidents that raised concerns, which we initially attributed to the normal learning curve of having our baby in childcare for the first time. However, one incident ultimately made it clear that we could no longer trust this facility with our child's care, and we withdrew him immediately. The incident raised serious concerns for us around judgment and communication. After withdrawing our son, Harmony refused to refund our deposit or any portion of the remaining tuition for the month. We took the matter to small claims court, where we won our case. This judgment was issued in October 2025, and as of today, she has still not paid the court-ordered amount. I debated whether to share our experience publicly, but I'm sharing this solely to document our experience and help other families make an informed decision. While Harmony presents herself in a certain way professionally, our personal experience was very, very different. She made comments to us that were completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I know how difficult it is to find childcare in this area, but based on our experience, I strongly encourage families to carefully consider other options before choosing Daisy Trails Forest Preschool.
